After chat censoring is completely bugged
I simply asked in the afterchat "Where are you from?" and i got ***** *** *** ****.
Why do developers inplement such bullshit? Also words like ######### and other bad words work, its like they threw dices to get the words which will be censored...

We're no more than Children. To them at least.
the word "damn" is censored as well.

Funny enough, that the bad word got censored here, but not in the actual game :D

I donโt know how necessary it is to discuss players addresses but I donโt think it should be censored.

i was asking, because i got hit through dimensions and thought since we have "dEdiCaTed sErvAArsss" it must have something to do with his connection or his location. But i couldnยดt asked because of this really good working censoring application. Noiiice jooob dudes!

At least it's not as bad as Dark Souls. My buddy named his character "Crumpet" and the profanity filter turned it into "C****et". Apparently they consider "rump" a bad word ๐

Someone saved my life during end-game collapse once.
After game, I typo'd and said "[name], ty you."
The chat censored and appeared as: "[name], *** you"
Spent the next minute trying to correct myself and wondering why the heck "ty" was censored Lol

British English is a thing, you know.

classic. always love to get invaded by a Black K***ht

Racists use that word as an abbreviated version of the n-word.

- dark souls is a series about knights
- proper chat filter implementation that actually seeks to protect people from this language wouldn't filter out the middle of words, nor would it filter out words like "rump"

- That's a serious oversimplification. It's like saying DbD is a game about fog. There are knights in the games, but it's not a series about knights. To say so ignores all the lore and fantasy aspects of the series.
- I get it, but if it did that, bypassing the filter would be ridiculously simple.

dbd is a game about fog.
anyway, that's what reporting people is for!! like why are we discussing this as if the chat filter is the only thing stopping people saying racist things? automation prevents the blatant and obvious cases and then humans pick through the rest. an overzealous chat filter is a symptom of laziness, and makes me feel less protected than a nuanced but exploitable chatfilter, because i assume that the people in charge will assume that the chat filter will remove literally everything and then there's nothing left to report.

Itยดs stupid because i want to chat with players in the after chat. But if i have to figure out how to write properly what i want to say, the people are long gone before i can even start the conversation. It was better without the censoring and i do agree, itยดs a sign of laziness for me too.

clearly not well, I can read it here just fine

Is rump considered especially vulgar in the UK?

It's definitely bugged.
I couldn't type "Them" or "L4D" or a handful of other non bad words earlier today. Is there anyway to disable the filter all together? It's horrible haha
