Survivors disconnecting - is it common?

What I experienced a lot this evening where survivors just disconnecting when they either were on the hook for the 2nd time or when (I guess) they thought that they wouldn't get any help from the other survivors.

I haven't experienced this during the past days when I started playing again, but today there were a lot of those people. People which I saw disconnecting the most were either people who were playing on console or had a yellow rank.

The ranks of the survivors I got was mixed as usual (there was everything inbetween rank 15 to 1).

People DCing on first hook are usually ragequitting because the start of the game went badly for them/they don't like the killer. People DCing on the second hook might be pissed at their teammates or the killer; either way, it's usually a 'screw this game, I'm out' type of thing. People DCing on last hook are just trying to deny the killer some points and emblems.

People who DC in the middle of nowhere - not in the process of being downed or hooked - are more likely to have actually disconnected.
