Why does wraith move so fast after uncloaking now

Idk if he got a speed boost or what but U can barely out run him at this point when he uncloacks even if you run before he starts to uncloak. Like tf he was fine before.

It's to counteract the fact that uncloaking slows him down. But I agree it's probably a bit too much. In my experience, if he's decloaking 10 meters away he's already within striking distance and you don't stand a chance unless you can somehow put an obstacle in the way at the last second.

He was in fact NOT fine before. He became 126% while cloaked. 10 percent faster than normal. Windstorm base makes survivors respect his speed. The lunge after cloak scales to wraiths cloaked movement speed where for 1.25 seconds after uncloak he maintains his speed. Which stacks with lunge speed if you swing. I feel people are overeacting to wraiths current power and not using his various counters. Predropping pallets. Vaulting windows. Tight loops where the wraith can't uncloak in time. Ect. Wraith hard counters shift w which is a good thing.

Its because that lunge was calculated by his speed, since the speed got buffed, also the lunge did

You've got to be aware of his grunts and run when you start to listen to them. You can't wait to last time while repairing a gen otheirwise he will hit you

He basically gets a free hit now. I've done everything to avoid that first uncloak hit but it's almost impossible unless I use Sprint Burst.

It's the same as before just now it doesnt require you to running windstorm.

If he caught you out while cloaked he's should to get the hit or else his stealth would be as useless as it was before they made windstorm basekit...The first time!(The mini sprint burst from stealth was the old windstorm add-on's effect).

He was so fine before that he was considered one of the worst killers before his recent buffs and still isn't ranked very high.

    Very fine indeed.

I hear pug noises, start running, then he uncloaks and gets a hit. Idk, bro. I'm not mad, just saying I find the lunge really hard to get away from. It's not an attack.

That happens when you have nothing to loop near you. You need to watch out for your surroundings and know where to run.

If a stealth killer gets close to you in a deadzone, he outplayed you. Its the strength of a stealth killer.

I agree that he wasn't fine before, but 126% to 150% + true invisibility is an absurdly big buff that doesn't really address his shortcomings in some situations while making him annoying in others. Like, he still can't do much about tiles like party bus or shack that have a strong window and a safe pallet, but for nearly everything else he's able to zoom ahead to body block pallets and windows, or just break the pallet and beat the survivor to the next tile. It feels kind of like playing against Legion now since it's basically a free first hit if he wants it, but the difference is that Legion has no stealth so you can safely play injured. Legion goes free deep wounds, mend, free deep wounds, mend, maybe down, free deep wounds, mend, etc. Wraith goes free hit, heal, free hit, heal, maybe down, heal, free hit, heal. Obviously "free" isn't "free", but it's "free" unless the survivor happens to be at a strong tile when the Wraith shows up and has enough visibility to see him coming. Usually if the first thing you hear is the snarl it's too late.

Given his new 20m true invisibility and 6m/s cloaked speed, he will be on you in 3 seconds from the first moment you can start to see the shimmer. Survivors need to do gens, so they can't just play conservative and stick to safe tiles only. You can't predrop safe pallets or vault safe windows that don't exist. Predropping pallets also isn't great against him, because he just chews through them unless you wait for him to uncloak before dropping the pallet and once he willingly uncloaks he should be able to hit you before you get to safety unless he messed up.

Not saying he's OP, but there's a reason for the complaints. Stealth killers all have the benefit of very easy first hits, but Wraith now pairs this with a power that lets him rapidly close distance after that first hit and also deal with many tiles by bodyblocking or by just shredding the pallet and closing the distance before the survivor reaches the next tile. I would have limited the buff to ~135%, personally. 150% would make more sense if you could see his shimmer at a distance like you could in the past.

He's one of my favorite killers to play but that was still the case before his buff. I'm very curious to see how he performs on the aggregate now, though; he feels like easy mode to play imo.

Tbf he was usually rated higher before when add-ons were considered. Old Wraith with purple Windstorm and either Clapper was quite good, but I definitely would have considered add-on-less Wraith one of the worst killers in the game. Most tier just aren't based on a killer's best add-ons, though.

Most tier lists I've seen since the buffs have him in B tier, which I think is probably fair.

What I find pretty annoying about wraith now is that with his speed buff the best way to play him is to uncloak, land a hit, then recloak and catch up. While there's nothing wrong with playing that way, as a survivor you often don't get a chance to build up chaser emblem or get boldness bloodpoints.

Am I missing something or wasn't he always this fast after uncloaking? The only change they made to him was making him faster while cloaked?

They also increased his post cloak speed by .25 seconds. To make up for the uncloak slowdown caused by windstorm being basekit
