Is the ghost face in-game the one from Scream.

I know this may seem like a very bizarre question, but I just watched the Ghost face reveal trailer and the trademark is for a costume company. I have very casually watched a couple of the Scream movies over the years, so I don't know much about the lore, so I was scratching my head when I looked up "Jed Olsen" to see that the character wasn't in any of the Scream movies. Sorry if this does just end up being a stupid question, but i legitimately couldn't find anyone talking about it anywhere else.

The movie characters and the mask itself are 2 separate licenses. BHVR has the mask license so the character itself is OG wearing the costume they have the license for

The masks in the Scream movies were created by and licensed from Fun World. Ghostface in DBD was also licensed from the same company. So you could say they are related. Like they have the same mom.

But (Spoiler Alert) the killers in the Scream movies were all different people so it almost doesn't matter. But none of them were Danny Johnson (Our friendly lovable Ghosty).

Thanks for the info, I thought something similar for a second, but all the in-game lore was pretty close to the movies, stalking and cameras etc. That I just assumed all that stuff was from the movies.
