I literally can't play a full match as Trickster

This morning, EVERY single trial I have tried as Trickster gets met with 1-3 people DCing the moment they see him. He's weak, and honestly one of (if not THE) weakest Killers in the game, but is he THIS hated by Survivors as well?

I have only played against Trickster once. It was yesterday, and I had no issue dealing with him and escaping. I even got a bit brazen against him and he was incapable of properly punishing me for it. Judging by the DCs, however, this is not normal. People would rather eat a 5+ minute DC penalty that play against a weak killer that throws toy knives.

This also happened last night, but I only played two rounds of Trickster, and chalked it up to late night Survivors wanting to farm and not play seriously, but no, this seems to be a thing. What's going on?

Pic related: It's been my Trickster matches all morning.

Survivors believe playing any Killer is toxic, any perks are toxic, slugging, camping, and tunneling are all toxic, and that Killers have to throw if Survivors 3Gen.

So I'm not surprised people DC against a weak Killer like Trickster. Expect them to come onto these forums and whine that the DC penalty is unfair.

Hey, this is all stuff I've been told on this very forum.

There's a thread in F&S where someone outright blames me, as Killer, for Survivors DCing. Like it's my fault they ragequit. 😂

Whiney Survivors and Killers are a vocal minority. Well, maybe not minority, but they are just vocal nerds. Most Survivors just go through a trial as normal, and bug out at the end to find the next match. Same with Killers.

I personally don't subscribe to the idea that playing a side automatically makes someone suddenly toxic or bad. It's reducing thousands of players to a single sentence that doesn't represent anything accurately.

Fair enough. I'm just poking fun at these forums after all I've been told in the 2 weeks I've been here. :)

I feel like Trickster is a very awkward killer, he isn't boring to play against by any means but it can sometimes be frustrating to play against him.

He's essentially a combination of Plague, Huntress, Deathslinger.

Plague in the sense that you have to hit a survivor with your power enough times in order to injure them.

Huntress in that he has a ranged attack which can travel extremely far.

And Deathslinger in that his projectiles have very small hitboxes and can therefore hit survivors through debris that they may not realise that you can aim through.

I believe that survivor frustration arises from the latter two similarities, in this game, ranged killers are notorious for being frustrating to play against due to hitboxes and latency. Trickster is no exception to this, I have had many experiences where the knife that he needed to down me somehow manages to hit me from round a corner.

I find it funny that you're seeing so many DCs though, I would say that Trickster is probably the least frustrating ranged killer to go against, maybe dedicated servers are acting up and latency issues are becoming more frequent? Therefore leading to more hits that don't seem deserved on the survivor's end?

Half the time, they are walking up to me, looking at me for a moment, and DCing on the spot. No real gameplay has occurred. If it was a rough time for them, I wouldn't really be confused by it. I might not agree with it, but I'd understand it. With Trickster, however, people DC the moment they see who it is, much less waiting for an actual conflict to arise. This has been the pattern thus far.

Also, just to reiterate, I wouldn't even bring this up if it was one in every 10 matches. Everyone gets matches where someone DCs the moment they don't like something. Currently, I'm 5 out of 7 matches where this has happened this morning. Seems rather high to be a coincidence.

I don’t mind playing against him myself, but a lot of Tricksters just aggressively patrol hooks and then down both unhooker and unhooked because you have enough knives to hit through BT (unless you hooked them in the middle of a strong structure, which you’ll probably try to avoid doing when playing this killer). You can’t safely rescue if a Trickster commits to a camp.

Not that this justifies DCing, of course. But it may be why. I can’t really think of any other reason.

60 knives are too much. If you are in an area, there is nothing you can do to do dodge the inevitable.

A Trickster game is a complete waste of time for all involved. He's unbelievably weak and somehow also annoying to face. Not sure how they pulled that off.

Hahah he is close range killer, at best there is some medium shots. But long range, not even possible with him with his recoil. And to be honest I never seen any trickster shot through small holes and things like that. And even with deathslinger I never been shot through a small hole.

Range killers are hated by a lot of survivors, so that explain the dc. But I played trickster for a long amount of time, and I rarely ever had people disconnect like that. I have had a couple of give up like they just stand and let me down them. But I think it's the trickster reputation, since I have noticed a large amount of trickster tend to camp, and tunnel. And that type of playstyle is disliked by a lot of people. So it could be since unfortunately he has a bad reputation. But I kind of get why a lot of people play trickster like that since like you said he is the weakest killer in game, so people will use those tactics to get downs.

The killer has a reputation of being very boring, who knows.

    It's probably the rep, ya.

They could honestly adjust his mechanics (slightly) to make it less of an issue, but his design DOES reward never breaking chase unless you get an injure.

Maybe it's because he's similar to Legion 1.0 and shares some of their problem that lead to a rework.

Trickster is my favorite killer atm and I've never seen someone DC against me. Maybe im just trash or the Survivor eel like he's a waste of time. Many Tricksters can not keep up with the Survivors and start camping/tunneling to get at least 1 kill.

I dont get why you would dc against a free win killer.

Weird. I've kinda had the opposite happen: survivors will stand there and motion "Come on," encouraging me to throw knives at them. Which is good, because I'm on a controller so they're not going to get hit with knives unless they stand still.
