Problem with gnome chompski event

So I have been trying to get the gnome charm from the event lately but unfortunately I have been running into a lot of killers that will intentionally dc before endgame collapse starts to prevent survivors from trying to do the event. It also makes it worse when I messaged a few of them after about why they dc and they literally respond saying the wanted to prevent survivors from completing the event. I hope the devs look into this. I don’t know if it’s a problem on pc but it has been happening quite a bit on console.

It also encourages taking the game hostage during the end game breakdown. It's not happened a ton but 3-4 times in the last two days of Killers slugging, kicking hatch, and then spending the time looking for the gnome is kind of not wonderful.

This is by the design of the event though and not someone just being bad mannered and malicious so I just use it as a break to get a drink or whatnot. Still, I hope they don't do this kind of event again.

I haven't seen anything like OP described - I play on PC but I have cross-play enabled. I play 50/50 and haven't had any killer DC at the end in quite some time. Usually a killer DCs in the first 3-4 mins of a match if they are not doing well. Granted I prolly only see killers purposefully DCing once every 20-25 matches. I have never purposefully DC'd - never understand the "logic" behind losing your bloodpoints and getting a temp ban.

You could try playing a game of killer and send the survivors in your lobby messages beforehand asking for help getting the gnome? It's not a perfect solution, but might be less stress inducing.

I've never had a Killer dc because of that. It did take me a few tries to actually find one.

This. I just made a topic about how I was good to the survivors so when the endgame began most of us ran around, I think looking for the gnome. I managed to find it but then the others left, they may not have known that he respawns.

Anyway yeah, if I'm the killer and I see a chat message asking for help with the gnome challenge, I'd absolutely pitch in. I'm probably in the minority, but it never hurts to ask.
