Does anyone else feel like survivors are wasting pallets?

So when I'm playing killer I'll see alot of survivors drop a pallet, miss, and then just run away. I can understand running away if the killer is forced to break it or your just in a situation that you can't really loop or use it at all but alot of times they'll drop it in a place I can just go right around after they start running away from it. At most it will waste a second if my time but that pallet could have been used by one of their teammates to loop me or do something more than what they did with it. And when this does happen they usually do it with alot of pallets and just waste them all. Now I would be alot more sparring on this topic if it was mostly low ranks doing it but it's an even amount of high and low ranks doing it.

Now I feel like in the right situation it could be affective but from what I've dealt with it legit takes max a second for me to walk around.

Some loops, definitely. Others? Forced to break the pallet, which means the survivor can gain massive distance.

Bad survivors, simple as that tbh rank means nothing

Rank roulette certainly didn't help this problem

Getting to high ranks is trivially easy. A lot of players are at ranks they shouldn’t be at, and there’s a lot about the game they don’t understand, so I wouldn’t expect a lot of game sense from most people. It’s easiest to just throw the pallet and run if you don’t understand the fundamentals of survivor chase or how killer powers work.

When I play survivor I usually tend to be mindful about the pallets. I will only do it If i can get a stun from the killer otherwise i don't bother using it. I save it for someone else. As a killer I have seen it all. Some are mindful - some just throw them down for the sake of throwing down the pallets. When I play doctor they usually pre - throw the pallet ( which is the smart thing to do against the doctor) :P Wasting pallets is annoying if you have that team mate who just uses them all up. lol

As a killer. I know they are.

For some weird reason, pre-dropping pallets and holding w seems to be meta nowadays.

It is disappointing, to be honest.

Not really, if you throw down all the pallets in one area especially an area with not many vaults or anything to try and bring space between you and the killer you just made that area a death zone for anyone unlucky enough to get into a chase there.

Seems like a rampant case of pyramid head ptsd.

It's because most survivors don't know how to run tiles the correct way, the truth is even though you see alot of complaint threads about survivors most of them are terrible and basically hand the killer the game, same could be said about killers also though alot are bad players who make very questionable decisions while chasing survivors then complain survivor op when they lose , there are only a few instances I can think of in the five years I've played where I've truly felt like there was nothing I could do as a killer and I was playing low tier killers everytime and the old BNP was still around for a couple of them where if all survivors brought it 4 gens were done in like 8 seconds

I had a game yesterday where an Ellodie threw down the shack pallet as soon as the match started. you want to talk about wasting pallets that's a huge examples

Depends, if you predrop a safe pallet and run the Killer will just bypass it and follow you instead of breaking it. Today I had a Survivor drop the meat tree pallet and exit the tile without me even starting the animation to break it, the result was I didnt break it, went straight after the Survivor and downed him.

Dropping a pallet and running away is only useful on unsafe pallets or god pallets the Killer MUST break to continue chase because you cant loop them and they cant bypass them either so their only choice is to break it or having to take a massive detour to access that part of the map, like the pallet near the stairs in Midwich or several at The Game
