Hardcore and long time players of DBD should be rewarded for their loyalty and playtime
For the amount of grind there is in this game, we really aren't given much for finally achieving things. (For example) Like ok nice, I have killed 1000 survivors in my total time of playing this game, but I get nothing. Why are we not rewarded with a cool cosmetic that is exclusive to players who have played this game for an extended amount of time? There is no fancy cosmetic you get for doing something significant, and why is there is no reward for doing anything in this game? All you get is an empty achievement, if even.
I want cosmetics that I can show off to other people that shows my level of superiority. I want a baby dweet to look at me and think "Wow, this person is be a god must have no life!" or "Holy hell this killer must be good and means business" JUST by taking a look at my character.
The cosmetics we have now are pretty good, but you wanna know why I don't care for them? Because some are pretty pricey honestly, but mainly because anyone can get them.
Any person who plays this game and wants cosmetics can just go ahead and buy them. But that isn't very rewarding, it doesn't let you know who has put in the hours to "git gud", it just shows you who likes the game enough to spend extra money on it.
What if when you get 10 flashlight saves you get a new skin for flashlights that you can toggle on and off? What if you could get a cool skin that shows you love using medkits? Just little things like that including full on cosmetics for your characters would go a long way and make it feel more like everyone is grinding towards something.
Everyone with 1000's of hours on this game only have their playtime to show as their sort of glory I guess. We should at the least be rewarded with exclusive cosmetics that can be grinded for at any time. That would make people feel more inclined to play the game more as well.

I also think if you put X amount of hours into a specific killer, you should unlock like a golden skin of them or something like that.

Yep I think each devotion level should give you a charm and achievements should also give charms/cosmetics for whatever killer the challenge is for.

i am still mad about my lost legacy, cause that achieved exactly that.
it'd be nice to unlock something special when you have a character completely maxed out. a golden skin or something fancy like that...

I'm on PS4, I can't see any cool stats, no one can see how many hours of my life I've
wastedspent on this game. Cosmetics and charms to show off accomplishments would be really cool.It'd also be nice if we console players could see our stats.

Something exactly like that but the gold should be replaced with something else. Gold is too common in games and just doesn't feel special most of the time.

You have been rewarded, with hundreds perhaps thousands of hours of enjoyable gameplay. Though I would always be glad for more content to grind out, another reward for an already enjoyable gameplay loop.

Playing 1000 hours on a single character would merit an epic skin. They could do something flashy like crystal skins or golden skins. Or maybe just make up a special legendary skin for each?
It would take a lot of work but it would be cool to see a player and know they have done their time in the fog ✌

They have the code for unlockable cosmetics. They could just snatch the code from leatherfaces unlockable faces (heh) and then adjust it to certain killers.

Maybe something along the lines of a "Entity Blessed" skin? (Not Legacy)
What I mean by that is maybe a skin that reflects what would happen if the character you're playing as was given a boon by The Entity? Like, they could have something they always wanted in their lore and be covered by The Entity's claws? I might have to think about this more, but you get the point right?

I'm pretty sure the devs are done with exclusive skins. And I can understand that.
However, rewards like blood points, shards, or cells would be most welcomed.

You get achievements, shards to use on skins and even Legacy skins if u are old enough.
If thats not enough for now, i suggest you to enable comments on your profile and take each and every single one of them as Badges of Honor.
Anyways, it would be cool if there was more rewards, but while we dont get that, getting new comments are pretty fun.

PS5 added the hours played to games. If you can sign in on a friend's PS5 or get your own at some point you'll see just how much this game wasted your life. :)
I have almost a double the hours I thought I had. Sadly there's no other stats but trophy progression can now be seen in percentages.

I have to say, that's some nonsense, if it shows it on the PS5 why can't it just show it on the PlayStation website. Damn Sony's dumb.
The only trophy I don't have is the Skilled Huntress one. I'd love to see my progression on it (it's probably like 10%, so 10 of 100 downs)... unfortunately, I've heard that trophies earned playing on the PS4 don't transfer to the PS5; I'd be starting from scratch. :(
Anyway, it's unlikely I'll be getting a PS5. Sony's new policy of "censor everything!" not only turns me off but has game companies pulling away, too, so if I ever get a next-gen system it'll probably be an Xbox.

DBD objectively is a fun game, just because you may be jaded, bitter and burnt out doesn’t make the game less enjoyable for others.

If you know anything about me at all you'll know that 3.5k of these 9k posts have been pictures of animals, 4k have been shitposts, about 400 have been in terms of developer streams and summarising them, and about 1k on the actual game.
It was fun. Currently only killer is fun and that's losing its charm. I've had to take several repeated breaks from this game and I fear another is coming soon. Only thing that keeps me playing is my bf.
Edit: not to mention the devs themselves have specifically said the game itself is designed to be frustrating so... Yeah thats a great definition of "objectively fun".

Objectively comes from any reviews I’ve read, from large sites or 2 sub you tubers, most people who play the game think it’s fun at a base gameplay level.
I also have no clue who anyone is on these forums, because I don’t care in any way. So no, I don’t know your post history, sorry. Still hanging in forums of a game you don’t enjoy to make the basic “lol dbd bad” comment seems silly, at least to me.
Finally, you said it was fun, meaning you did enjoy it, and 1k hours for $30 is a heck of a deal, to me anyway. I’ll repeat myself, just because a small portion of the player base is burnt out, it’s fine to not like the game, but that doesn’t make the gameplay bad.

I still play the game, because it's addictive, I like to grind for things, and my bf asks me to play with him a couple of times a week. That doesn't mean it's really fun anymore, at least not to me, because fun is subjective. So, of course I would hang around the forums of a game I actively play and sometimes enjoy, because I want to provide feedback to the developers, engage with members of the community I like in fun ways, and because I know these forums well and I know the entertainment value I get from watching someone say that BBQ should be a hex perk.
If you think all I do is hang around to make the basic "lol dbd bad" comment, then I suggest paying closer attention to who people are and what they comment, or don't say anything at all. Both cost nothing and one even saves you time.

Do you know what does make the gameplay bad? A massive rift between the three sides in this game- solo, killers, and 4man on comms SWF- leading to a massive imbalance the developers don't seem to want to fix anytime soon, if the most recent changes to Small Game and Open Handed despite not allowing people to see other survivors' builds pre-game are anything to go by. A multitude of bugs which I can forgive, because I know coding is incredibly difficult, but a serious lack of communication doesn't help matters. They used to do weekly- yes, weekly QnA livestreams. The last one of these was on February 4th 2021- over 3 months ago. The next stream we're getting is the Anniversary Stream on Tuesday May 25th, where they'll announce their plans for the Resident Evil chapter, as well as other 5th Anniversary events both in-game and out of game. If previous streams are anything to go by, there won't be a QnA here either, meaning the next one will probably occur nearing the end of June after the release of the RE Chapter. The serious divide in the community as well, where they will do whatever they can to make the other side miserable because they can, and the developers actively encourage this. That does make the gameplay bad.
Which is why, as I've said many times before, survivor just is not fun for me right now. Killer is the role in the game where I go to be in control of the match because my fun isn't reliant on 4 other people- my 3 teammates and the killer- it's reliant on myself and whatever map I load into.

The reward is the fact you unlocked most thing in game and got so much experience you can crush 8//10 match you go in. You get prestige skin. What do you want more?
Edits: Let not forget all limited outfit/charm that got removed in the game.

I always thought a cool idea would be some kind of like pre-entity killer skins for devotion to them. Adepts, achievements, playtime, whatever.
Plague being healthy, Trapper untortured, Nurse unmasked, etc

Once again, the core gameplay, what you do and how you interact on a trial to trial basis is fun. Game design issues like swfs, imbalance and such affect gameplay, but for the mass majority or players is a non issue. Being a 1000 hour player your perspective shifts, usually negatively due to familiarity, I would know. Over the 4 years I've played I've taken 3-4 multi month breaks. As for all the game design stuff you mentioned I agree with most of your points, but have accepted the game for what it is, not what I want it to be, and still find the core experience very enjoyable.
Finally I don't assume anything about you, or anyone here. I take everything on a post to post basis. I usually only come to the forums while I'm in the bathroom or on lunch, because it's an entertaining car crash more often than not. So keeping track of who's who holds no interest to me, nor will it.

Not sure why anyone would be against this idea.
There are already earnable cosmetics/charms in the game. Leatherface has the four survivor masks. There are the prestige cosmetics. And every level of every tome rewards a charm at the end. These items are always available to be earned, and they can't be bought.

We need exclusive skins or a good amount of iridiscent shards as rewards for reaching each Devotion lvl imo.
