Trapper can't place traps

I had a game where I got in and tried to place traps, but it would start the first half-second of the animation and stop. After breaking breakables, resetting traps already on the ground, and trying different areas it still wouldn't let me place traps from my hand. After disconnecting, on the post game menu it showed I and a survivor had disconnected, although the survivor hadn't disconnected during the match.
(Is this when a survivor disconnects but the game doesn't register that? I had an instance the other day where a friend and I were on SWF and I had disconnected but his game went through, he said I was "still in the game".)
