Should Hag be updated?
Since Hag has been released, mechanics to prevent camping with a Killer's Power (i.e. Pyramid Head's dissolving trails near gens, gates and hooks) and power use cooldowns (Spirit, Blight, Pyramid Head, Legion, Twins etc.)
Maybe Hag should get updated a little bit?

the only change she needs, is to make all traps, a certain range from the hook, get destroyed after an unhook.

Her power would be very easy to neuter into complete uselessness, so I'm wary of balance changes.
The only change I think she could use is a max distance from an occupied hook where a trap can't exist. Create a radius where traps can't be set, and a somewhat smaller one where existing ones vanish (so that nearby trapped hexes and pallets probably won't be destroyed by hooking near them.) Some killers do have mechanics that aim to stop hook trapping - there's PH's trails, Trapper can't place traps within a certain distance of the hook, and Twins won't let you switch characters near an occupied hook, though it has a workaround by leaving Victor there before hooking. It wouldn't damage much of Hag's potential by stopping her hook camping; she's still extremely powerful, especially in maps with choke points.

I don't think making Hag Trap's dissolve when they're too close to hooks, gens or exit gates like Pyramiad Head would hurt anything that actually makes her interactive or skillful to play. She'd still be able to trap strong loops and set up her webs.
It would just make endgame exit gate camping, hook camping and rusty shackles gen grabs never happen again. Which I think the majority of the community would be fine with.

Up the distance traps have to be from the hook and in turn also remove flashlights clearing her traps. Currently she’s just hook trades all game and the devs already stated they wanted to move away from items removing a killers power, IE like toolboxes on trapper traps.

This and completely removing flashlights destroying her traps would be very good changes. Most good Hag players I see use Franklins, that's how bad it is.

Yes in the archives it stated that her friend used Her grandmas magic symbols to pass school but it killed her teacher and the symbols killed Lisa’s friend. It wasn’t good cause the lore focused more on Lisa’s friend then her herself they never mentioned the cannibals or how she became the Hag it was lame

Yeah I remember watching Pixel Bush Entertainment’s video on it and it seemed like such an uninteresting story that was just a worse version of Billy’s story.

I think they should just have a larger minimum distance from hooks. She'll still be boring as hell to play against but less frustrating.

This and the Trappers story leading to more questions than answer is why I stopped caring about the rift stories completely.

Flashlight trap clearing removed, trap placement prevention radius around hooks enlarged, and add manual trap disarming by default (takes time, needs you to crouch-walk on top).

Make her 115% then so she can chase. You can't hamper her ability to control her territory and not give her something in return.

I see Hag in a good place atm. If you know how to play her and prepare your Traps properly, she's super strong.
I'm more worried about Michael. He feels so outdated..

Rusty Shackles are pretty trash. They don't give you a notification that someone triggered them, they don't yank the survivor AND you won't even know they got triggered unless you constantly look around to see if it turned white. They are VERY lackluster. I don't even use them anymore XD

What it DOESN'T say is that it DOESN'T tell Hag that you don't get a notification that your trap is triggered either. I've used that add-on a few times and get ######### on because if I don't pay attention, I never notice someone triggering one until they're far away and I just lose a hit. If they want to remove that add-on, I wouldn't care. My opinion on it is its a detriment. Not only does it not YANK a survivor for you so it makes a hit easier for the Hag, it also doesn't notify the Hag unless you're already chasing or just waiting for someone to trigger it. I prefer to port and hit, not stare at a trap and hope someone triggers one.

Weird O.o I never get one when I use them, though. The explosion thing. Maybe I have to be a certain distance away to get one for them or something O.o Fair enough. Yeah, if they want to nerf it, I don't mind at all. I still don't understand how he's getting explosions when using them but I used for them for 3 games straight and never once got an explosion notification O.o

I mean, I can argue they need to be unplacable in a certain range, without a flashlight you need to crouch, or you need to be able to walk over her traps if they are near a hooked survivor.
Speed difference to crouch to the hook(which is a 70% speed difference FYI, that's Spirit phasing levels of speed difference), OR have an instant teleport, for such a large amount of time is why Hag is insane. I dont think her traps should be within 8 meters of a hook.

I don't think that she should be able to have TEN portals all over the damn map at any one time. That's enough to block every generator plus some hooks, pallets, windows, whatever. It's a bit much. The fact that they're all but invisible doesn't help either.
I'd say give her five portals, or if people complain that she MUST have ten then have some kind of limit as to how frequently she can use them. Unless there already is some kind of cooldown on them, which I've seen no evidence of (I haven't played as the Hag yet, she seems to tricky. Yes, I am agreeing that she takes skill to use. I don't knock those who are good with her. She's just super cheap).

As someone who enjoys playing hag, I think allowing walking to bypass traps would be an ok change instead of just slow-ass crouching. Running still triggers obviously.
Also, not being able to trap right under hooks would probably be a good healthy change.

I'm having the same problem as Doctor. Someone was down with Tier 3 Madness but no explosion and the scream wasn't directional. Just all around me. Didn't seem to have these problems until the new update. Once the new update hit, Hags' shackles didn't give me any notification whatsoever. I thought they was just useless lol.

Definitely a bug then. Probably with your system though, as this has never happened to me, and I play for around 10 hours everyday.

Just had another game as Doctor and this time, Tier 3 David was down and I could see the notification. It just seems random.

Imagine needing toolbox to disarm one Trapper trap ...
Hag is so broken, outdated and unfun to go against (no chases, some stupidly OP addons, built-in camping mechanic, ...).
Even her lore is uninteresting. Hag has nice skins, the single one positive thing!
If this game is going to celebrate its 5th birthday, this is because of lack of competitors but also because DbD is fun. Yes, DbD can be really frustrating, but overall the fun outperforms the frustrating side because of chases and interactions between survivors and killers.
In hag games, there are no chases, period ... unless the killer player is dumb / have no idea how to play his killer class.
If this broken killer had been more popular since its release, DbD game may have died in 2017-2018 ... or at least, we would have got total hag rework more quickly ;)

Honestly this is the one killer that if they accidentally gut her I wouldn't be upset.
Even though I hate her they need to give her some quality of life changes like...
- Flashlights shouldn't work vs her. Fix traps someway to compensate for this.

tbh with you she could have a change on her addons maybe rusty shackles are kind of dumb but the one that definitely could have a change is MINT RAG, that addon is just mean, if a survivor is on bassement or any place actually and you have Make your choice is literally 0 or very little counterplay AT ALL it doesnt matter how good you are someone is gonna die. but you barely see her at all and most hags do know how boosted that addon is so you rarely see it like rarely you would see iri head before change and still you would see this one more just because there are way more huntress players than hags but still, also she has a lot of useless addons that deserve an update or just rework like for example the body block/wider effect traps/etc
then she is fine.

I honestly prefer going against rusty shackles than no rusty shackles. At least my camera doesn't get yanked around everytime I trigger a trap because taking away the player's control of the camera just so you can have the funny and epic jumpscare gamer moment is great game design like I've said before.
Chances are you're gonna get hit anyway, and you can almost never see the traps, so the add-on doesn't really do anything except feel like it's BS, even though it's the same level of BS Hag already has.

i mean.... i think she's fine, she's just playing a different game, basically. You can counter her... with a brain, and comms, for solo que yeah she's kinda a monster. Best thing you can prolly do in solo que vs hag is sac 1-2 people and gtfo asap if the hag is any decent.
On the other hand i main killer but i very very very very rarelly play Nurse / Spirit / Hag. Not because it's "too easy" but because this community is so toxic i'm scared i'd get banned from all the made up reports / constant harrasing on steam post - game.

That would make her incredibly weak and would require significant buffs in other areas to compensate. Hag’s entire game-flow is designed around how her traps are currently implemented. 5 traps would make her power far too inconsistent, and a cool down / limit on trap usage would render her too slow with no tangible pressure.

She's my wifu, she can destroy most teams if played correctly. It hurts to admit but.... Hag shouldn't be able to put traps under a hook. And some add-ons are bullshit, they really need a rework

Yeah, she wouldn't need both, I'd be happier with one or the other, but I see what you mean.
I don't want to strip any killers of their abilities, that's not the kind of survivor player I am. I just think that she's improperly balanced and, like the Spirit, requires too much guesswork and vulnerability to play what feels like a fair game against, most of the time.

No, even crouching to the hook, a decent hag would have at least 2 traps at a sizable distance on your way to the hook. Which is about 10-12 meters on default. Which means the survivor crouches that distance in 9-11 seconds. How much can the Hag move in that same timespan? 40-48 meters. Thats 4 times as fast as a survivor. What other killer is 4 times as fast as a survivor for 10 SECONDS? The other option? Make her teleport directly to you.
So yeah, no ######### traps within 8 meters of a hook.
