you can't even body block hatch anymore against key users
wth Behaviour? first you make trapping the front of the hatch useless since you removed the initial position of hatch opening, and now being in the middle of the hatch no longer stops them from using the key
Why?????

It looks like you managed to body block it pretty well until you decided to move off it?

i'm still in the middle of it, only moved left and right

Ok, I think I have a solution: Hatch Grabs. Just bring them back.
5 -
shouldn't have ever been removed tbh
4 -
Agreed.

Yeah 30 minute hatch standoffs were the best I really miss not being able to go make ramen eat it and walk my dog before still coming back to my face off with the survivor.
15 -
No. That's why hatch stand-offs were a thing.
7 -
That was your problem actually, the open hatch can be blocked by standing on it, but once the hatch is closed the area where you can use keys is not actually on top of it but instead in front of the hatch on the side with the handle. Just imagine a second invisible hatch in front of the actual hatch, so you can block keys without even touching the hatch.
1 -
Myers loses all collision for a few moments when stalking. You could've been blocking it perfectly but doesn't matter.
3 -
Bodyblocking shouldn't be a thing, in my opinion. Either the person makes it to the hatch and escapes, or you get there first and attack the survivor. The idea that you can stop a survivor from winning the match by finding the hatch and just sitting there on it seems cheap to me.
Then again if the survivor can see that that's what you're doing, I don't know why they couldn't just go the other way and exit through a gate.

I know. But the thing is, unlike most of the community, I enjoyed hatch stand-offs.

I remember once a so entitled Hag that refused to leave the hatch on haddonfield
Ive made the last gen and manage to escape by gate while she keeps standing on hatch pretty sure i was around

Grabs should still be a thing if they're injured. It isn't really about WHO finds the hatch first. It's mainly if you can down them while they stand on the hatch and then move them before they jump in or crawl in. Hatch stand-offs was never fun for me. I remember on PS4, I had a hatch stand-off for over 20 minutes. No joke. I ended up grabbing the person but jesus, never again will I wait that long XD
(Edit: But to play devils' advocate, if you're the last survivor and the killer DOES close the hatch, the doors should be able to be opened in 10 seconds instead of 20 for fairness.)

Hmm, in my games when I'm the last survivor and the killer closes the hatch the exit doors open immediately.

I have a feeling the 5th year anniversary will finally reveal the key rework, so there is that.
0 -
Ah yes, because using an item brought to the match(or a perkslot dedicated to have a bigger chance of finding that item, which is hidden, yknow, like mori's) for 1 escape is sooooooo terrible.
2 -
That's weird O.o Also, I feel like killer should be able to open the gates after closing the hatch if they want the survivor to survive.

I did this with a pig. I had two gens, 99'd 1 and moved to the next. Popped both gens which were close to an exit, for whatever reason the pig never closed the hatch and instead b lined it to the door, so I ran to hatch

Agreed. Hatch grabs for key users only. Dunno why it got removed entirely at all. (Not that it would work half the time given the state of grabs the last few years)

This doesn't happen to you? Does it happen to any of you other guys?
I first noticed it when my friend and I played a 1 v 1 match to each try out a killer. I found the hatch and closed it and BOOM, instantaneously the doors opened. I was like "Oh. Didn't mean for THAT to happen", lol.
Then, sure enough, in a couple of regular games I was the last survivor and looking for the hatch. The icon was on my screen. Then, as soon as the icon disappeared, there was the familiar bell and suddenly the endgame collapse was happening. I had to switch gears and hightail it to the exit right then and there.
If this is abnormal I wonder if some other variable was in play that I don't know about. I much prefer the idea that if the killer closes the hatch, the survivor still has to be elusive and make his or her way out. Closing the hatch, in my games anyway, has basically been a "get out of jail free" card. It didn't make sense which is why I remember it.

I have NEVER seen that happen as killer or survivor XD Definitely not intended but it is funny lol.

That is...That is mistifying. I've only found and closed the hatch as the killer a couple of times now, so I just assumed that this was how it was supposed to be. So what normally happens when the killer closes the hatch? Nothing? The match just continues as normal? The exit gates don't open?
0 -
That doesn't make it a good idea.
3 -
The survivors have to manually open the gates without being detected by the killer. A whole 20 seconds of hoping it isn't a killer with some type of speed effect lol.
1 -
Yea, we need more of good old 30 minutes hatch stand-offs.
0 -
Ok, I think I have a solution: Just remove keys.
0 -
In B4 someone says to just get rid of hatches. :P
0 -
Hell no, that sh*t was the reason why hatch stand-offs existed.
That should stay buried.
0 -
you moved off of the proc point. You had it. She couldn't open it until you moved.
0 -
I think the grab should exist if someone uses a key. If they jump in while its open fair game, but if they open the hatch in your face you should be able to counter with an interupt. Just an IDea .
1 -
I moved back into the middle, and we can see she clearly opening it while being 100% in front of me so I was blocking it, she jumped into the hatch while getting into me.
0 -
I agree, even if the survivor have a key, if the killer is on the hatch first the killer should win, end of it, if the survivor have a key and the killer is not around they win, but if the killer is next to them they should grab
0 -
yeah but for that second you were off it it allowed them to open it
0 -
that's bs really
0 -
Bruh, killers get a confirmed hatch close in the endgame if they are standing on top of it with another survivor. And now you want to be able to do something similar with keys!? Let's just remove the hatch for survivors, Problem solved
0 -
Once they have the option there's no interrupt which is what i find dumb. If they open it with a key you should 100% get to grab them
1 -
agreed
