The devs fear of breaking the economy of the game is breaking the economy.
I'm certain I've heard it before, that the reason the devs so rarely do any blood hunts and have barely added new ways to get bloodpoints is all so that they can't prevent the event where the economy is broken and there's no longer a grind. The problem being is that the economy is breaking in the opposite direction, at most there's an event where you get some extra bloodpoints for completing a gen or hooking someone nowadays, but every 3 months there's 6 new perks and in the event even one of them is meta, that's one more character you have to grind for or buy and them get them to at least level 30-40.
If they keep this up, there will simply be too much grind to get what you need. It's already bad as is for new players and it's gonna continue to get worse. Perks like we're gonna live forever for survivor and bbq for killer are necessary now to get an even somehwhat decent amount of bloodpoints per match.

There is no economy, players cannot exchange resources.
Also, BPs are purely grinding for bloodweb, you cannot exchange for iridescent shards or auric cells to buy skins.

I never understood this. I mean, back in 2017 there was a Blood Feast for a few days, and that alone could have broken the Bloodpoint economy. Yet they did it.

They've called it the economy and so I've stuck with it. I get that the definition doesn't really fit but you get the point.

Yeah they did it once and never again. If it wasn't so early into the game's lifespawn, it just might've.

I remember a time where WGLF gave 400% BPs instead of 100%. Guess what? Survivors farmed each other to death for it. They also use to have dailies worth over 450k but the devs said these challenges were "too hard" to do for some players. Literally hook 9 different survivors or run the killer for 3 minutes. That's it. 250k-450k per daily. Life was GOOD, SON!

the thing they dont seem to realize is, that they eventually have to keep giving out more and more BP to even keep the grind at the same level.
each Chapter brings us at least one new Character on both sides that requires to get fully leveled and on top of that 3 teachable perks (per character) that require you to level everyone else a bit again.
so in order to have every character fully maxed out, you need to invest more BP than before each time a new character drops, due to not only that new character requiring to be leveled up, but also all the previously maxed out ones.
This either needs to be addressed by the Devs actively reducing the grind by making it easier to max out someone (something they already did a long time ago and something that i think would, once again, call for some sort of Legacy campaign - e.g. removing perk tiers / making it so an unlocked teachable gets unlocked for everyone), or they need to keep increasing the rewards earned to fight the ever increasing grind (something achieved by e.g. the addition of the Tomes or the ranking reward system).

WGLF gave 50% for each stack, up to a maximum of 200%. Never 400%

Is it 200%? I thought double was 100% extra bloodpoints? Ah, yeah. My bad. At the time, that was a fuckton of points lol.

You know, you would think that for playing since late 2016 would mean I am getting close to owning every perk. Not even close, son. My friend knows someone with over 6K hours. Does he have everything? Not even close, son.

I have every character P3 and almost every survivor has every perk and teachable. My killers are all P3 and I never got past that point XD And this is 4 and half years worth of grinding.

I feel like the grind is the only thing that keeps every end screen from being nearly identical both matches and players.

I have almost 7k hours I think idk I don't use my hours for points because that's lame but I have all killer and survivor P3 50, all perks on survivor and I'm just starting my killers now. This game feels like a job but not in a bad way.
I would also like the grind to be reduced thanks :)))))

How many hours do you have in dbd?
0 -
2400 hours but I always use BBQ and WGLF whenever I can. It's taken years for me. I've played every Bloodhunt and double bloodpoint equivalent to amass what I have. I play just about every day. I play Killer during the day and SWFs/Solo at night.

Why would you want every character maxed out?

The problem is that the "grind" is part of what keeps people playing the game. You might not think so, but subconsciously, it makes you want to play the game to earn more.

Bragging rights and it looks very satisfying seeing P350 on everyone and knowing you have every perk in the game unlocked on them
