Why do people say bait dead hard out when thats not the problem its dead harding for distance

It's a bit annoying when people say that since using dead hard for its initial purpose isn't that bad it's using it for distance that's bad. dead hard wouldn't be as hated if dead Harding for distance was a thing. " just bait it out" is fairly common when you complain about dead hard which is dumb since how do you bait a dead hard out when your not even close enough to get a hit. dead Harding for distance doesn't even take all too much skill since there aren't really any repercussions for using it for distance. USing dead hard for dodging at least takes a little skill since you have time at least. I'm not really sure how to fix dead hard I suppose just get rid of the dash since that's the main problem, not the I-frames. I know most of u will say that it so little distance but if you mix a little distance with iframes that can very strong. it doesn't really have any repercussions like i said before since all you need to do is be injured which ya your one hit from being downed but dead hard can be essentially one health state.

like is said I'm not really sure how to fix dead hard maybe get rid of the dash but tbh that might make it very weak since using dead hard for doing can be very iffy since sometimes you can get exhausted on the ground.

There should be a restriction of using a pallet or window for like a full second after using Dead Hard. That would remove the DH for distance BS and make it less annoying.

This was my intial idea. To lock survivor interactions for a solid 2-3s to stop the DH abuse and to make it more skillful

No one says "just bait it out" as a solution to dead harding for distance. People say it as a solution to whiffing your hit in the open due to the survivor dead harding. Obviously if a survivor dead hards into a window vault there is no point in baiting since they're getting that vault either way.

if deadhard was only used for its intended purpose to dodge a hit (doesn't even work 80 percent of the time) it would be a bad perk.

because everyone knows there is no counterplay for that, so they dont even bother with it or play it down as much as they can so it doesnt seem as OP as it is.

its about the same level of an argument as "just mindgame the nurse! see, she isnt as OP as everyone says :)"

i have no problem with that. i think that's just on you...

Sure, i totally agree with the fact that you play "mainly killer"

if you couldn't tell its kinda hard to believe you considering I've seen a lot of your comments, Most of them are pretty survivor biased but sure lets both believe that you play main killer

Dead Hard isn't that big of an issue, though? SB can cause you to whiff AND you get a ######### ton of distance from the same activation. Not to forget, you can 99 your exhaustion while running so you can still go do gens. Dead Hard is only a problem for some killers just because they use it for a pallet sometimes. That's a really stupid reason to want a whole perk nerfed or changed. Both deny you a hit. Yeah, Dead Hard can be annoying but its definitely not "op" or "unbeatable" like a bunch of posts are saying. I rather have 4 DH's in my match rather than 4 SB's any day.

at last you tell me a decent point but I'm trying to say there arent really any downside to dead hard since if you have it kinda like a thrid health state but sprint burst you h have to walk and you if you don't you risk the fact you get caught without sprindburst

well you kinda say " people complain without getting better about anything" like keys " wow man you should have just GoTtEn BeTTeR and kiLLed The SuRv QuIcKer" or with noed " wow man guess you should have GoTtEn BeTtEr and Did BonEs"

although people complain about dumb stuff like huntress OP some people at least say that some things may not be OP or in need of a strict nerf but still very unhealthy like keys or old legion

getter better still doesn't rid the fact that some of these things are very unhealthy for the game.

I'm Rank 1 as killer. I see a ton of people who 99 their SB and the moment I'm in hit range, they just jet lol. If you're on a gen after using SB and someone else is being chased, you should be able to recover a majority of that exhaustion before the killer even gets close. Then you can run, throw a pallet then recover while they decide to break or try to mindgame then SB away again. It gets repetitive. I'm surprised that I don't see SB posts XD

well they did have to time the sprint burst 99 right

plus not that many people do the 99 sprintburst all to much and just use it to make unsafe gens safe

#########, I get it all the time at Rank 1 lol. When I get DH, they don't last long. Dead Hard, yeah, you lost a hit, but with SB, you lose an entire survivor AND all momentum that came with finding that person. If they're all spread apart, you either got to spend a ridiculous amount of time to chase that survivor down just to even start the chase again or hope someone is nearby. It wastes a helluva lot more time than DH has for me.

This one. Seriously a survivor might get dead harding for distance once a game.

When people say that, they are showing that they aren't the survivors who are the problem when using it. The reality is, so much of this game is really OP for the top tier survivors, but most of them can't play at that level. So when i see comments like that i just think "well, i know that you aren't good at the game"

Dead Hard at it's core has always given distance, and given the current issues in the game it's the only way to use it without ending up exhausted on the floor.

What does “exhausted on the ground” mean? I hear that term from a YTuber a lot when dead hard fails for him.

To fit a narrative and attempt to keep developer eyes away from the problem. (only read title)

Yes make the perk completely useless then. Even if used to dodge a hit, having a restriction for pallet/windows immediately after would make it useless, because the killer would just recover from the animation and swing again. Do you even think before proposing changes?

Sprint burst also gives more distance than dead hard, but I don't see people complaining about that. The 0.5 second dash is more annoying for killer players than the 3 seconds of 150% movement speed. Now, i know why it's so annoying it's because you feel, as killer, that you caught up with them and they can't loop you for longer, and then they deadhard and have one more chance. With Sprint burst you don't get that feeling because it's used before the actual chase begins for distance. Am I incorrect?

SB can be wasted while deadhard is always available when needed.

Dead hard fails against laggy vpn killers for reactive use while it excels against low ping killers and will essentially give you 3 lives against killers that are stuck in their power like nurse and blight.

I have low ping and see the full power of this perk daily.

Sprint burst can be more problematic in specific situations but like you said, it doesn't feel as bad for the killer and the survivor may not have it available the next time they are seen.

So what ur saying is that perk should be absolutely useless? Dh u can bait out easily anything that is left of this perk is to gain distance so you want to delete that and bait dead hard? So what exactly would be the point of this perk again?

It’s what happens when there’s a delay between the survivor’s game, the server, and the killer’s game, caused by latency. Basically the survivor anticipates that they will get hit and uses Dead Hard. However the killer swings at the same time and gets a hit and a down on their game. So the survivor expects to dodge the hit, but instead they get downed and still get the exhaustion status effect because the server accepts that the survivor Dead Harded, but also that the killer downed them. So the survivor essentially gets the worst of both worlds - they’re exhausted without actually getting to use their perk.

It’s an annoying “feature” of dedicated servers.

Dead Hard leaves you exhausted on the ground like 30% of the time, it’s really not broken or anything.

Just because it's annoying doesn't mean it should be changed.

2-3 seconds would be probably too much. It should be maybe one second + the time the killer needs to travel the dh-distance.

But i would probably switch to sprintboost anyway. Its a hassle to manage the exhaustion but its stronger than dh.
