The Anniversary stream chat Was Awful
The chat was a bunch of kids saying "OTZ WHERE IS OTZ" and "EW PRIDE CHARMS" and They were saying cringe to everything Literally everything Except for the RE Reveal, It honestly triggered me tbh

A surprise to absolutely everyone, I'm sure.
Your mistake was watching with the chat open.
21 -
It was truly a mistake, I just wanted to see their reactions to all of the stuff going on, I saw only 3 decent comments and the rest were a bunch of kids
0 -
To be fair there was a lot of cringe to watch lol
Also never read twitch chat, thats a common sense.
Only thing that bothered me there chat-related was when they were asking questions and you could answer 1-4 in the chat. Because the chat was on 2min slowmode and questions were changing faster than that. Smh
Its like this every single stream they do, dunno why it is still surprising
5 -
Yeah, truly immature.
Just goes to show what kind of vomit community we have.
13 -
Some of it was cringe Yes, But they were saying cringe at all of the cosplays and Honestly the cosplays were pretty good
0 -
Yeah many children in the chat. But that was to be expected, unfortunately.
1 -
Yea I liked the cosplay too. But you can't expect twitch chat to be mature and collected. Also most of them were probably only watching for RE reveal and everything else was annoying to them, who knows
1 -
The stream had 100k views and After the RE Reveal it dropped down to 60k-70k
1 -
I watched it on the YouTube app on the Xbox to deliberately avoid the chat.
Last year was just pathetic in attitudes of some of those in chat. I admit that I was hoping this year would be different and maybe regret not joining chat, but from what has been said and seen it is yet more of the same pointless crap from a select portion of the community.
Hopefully, those are the guys who are toxic in-game and get the bans. This place doesn't need those.
1 -
I'm going to wear the Pride charm all the time just to Piss off all the homophobes. I've literally seen people type they will tunnel any survivors wearing them. Bunch of mental midgets.
9 -
Thats the reason why i watched it from my couch with the chat turned off. You just gotta love our community.
9 -
Cringe
4 -
And why was this the case?
Because last year the Reveal was at the end of the Stream and people were spamming "Skip" or "Dont care" the entire stream. Like, even yesterday, people were not able to just wait the 10 minute countdown and were spamming the whole time.
The DBD-Community is ######### and you see it when you watch the Chat during those Livestreams.
4 -
Wear the Pride charms with pride. Homophobes will out themselves (because they can't help it) and get themselves banned. Easy.
11 -
The DBD community is just awful,I don't read the twitch chats because of this.
0 -
Exactly ! i made a similar thread on the steam forums and basically people were laughing at me.
I know some people just wanted the reveal of the chapter but it's not like DBD didn't actually announced there would be something before it.
You can be excited about something and wait patiently for it or be excited and say it like "so excited for the reveal" instead of "boring", "no one cares", "not even funny" etc
And if these people stayed after the reveal (instantly dropped from +80 K viewers to 60K), like you said there was a majority being disrespectful to the LGBT+ community or even to Puppers. Like common who could direspect this freaking amazing guy ?
---
If the majority of the community is +13 years old (should be since it's an horror game), i really hoped they would have act like it but it seems i was wrong :(
BUT still there was people as excited as i was for the whole broadcast, for the votes, for the roadmap, for the live as a whole ! And we got rewarded by codes, by amazing content (throwbacking us to the time devs had a weekly stream <3), rewarded by informations (boon totems who is excited ? :D) , amazing set design (honestly i want to win the lottery, buy myself a house, and hire whoever designed the campfire and the Archives room to get the same).

Sorry...just a little tired...off for a nap.

I was watching another official announcement for a game after the DBD one, as they were the same day. The chat was awful too. "The streamer doesn't even know how to play their own game LMAO", "Can she stop speaking I don't like her voice", "The quality of the stream is terrible buy a new PC"...
I wanted to see if the chat was the same as for DBD.
0 -
Forgot to say that People legit made fun of puppers because of the way he Talked, Like #########
4 -
Depending on what they are "boon totems" will destroy the already small killer population. The new perk is already bad enough making totem perks even more useless.
1 -
And the developers want to give them the ability to get other players banned by adding an auto-ban system.
2 -
i don't think the killer population is that small. If you talk about killer mains then yes but the majority of the community is playing both sides ^^
0 -
I can't even see Survivor charms as Killer tbh.
2 -
True.
THIS IS THE WORST IDEA I HAVE EVER SEEN IN THE HISTORY OF DBD.
And right now the devs are reassuring us by saying that the feature is still in development but i do not trust them at all.
This is a bad idea.It really is.Like i havent seen a more absurd idea.

Tell that to the 5 to 10 minute wait times for a survivor game.
1 -
Hell yeah I can't wait to show pride with my fellow fog traveling people it's been along time coming
Same here 🤗 but we got some good eggs here that I'm pleased and will always support with all of my heart 🐷💗
2 -
we are definitly not playing on the same region then ^^ i never have to wait more than 3 minutes on West Europe server
Also there is a time to play survivor and a time to play killer to avoid long queue :
- play killer in the evening
- play survivor during the day
1 -
Yes... play survivor during work or school.... The only reason survivor q is a bit faster.
3 -
To me, even more heartbreaking than them saying ew at the pride charms was them mocking Puppers.
He had a ######### stroke 5 months ago and lived, and had the confidence to make a public appearance. They have the gall to mock someone 100x the person they will ever be and it ######### shows.
9 -
So that's what happened. I saw it and swore he spoke "normally" the last time i saw him. Dang.. unlucky it happened but lucky he survived.
1 -
Yes, that was heartbreaking to watch. I have known Puppers for a very long time, thanks to Monto, and he truly is a nice person. Always was, always will be.
Why people would mock him is beyond me. How can someone be so cruel?
2 -
What? I'm... I'm so shocked.
1 -
I wanted to hear more stuff from developers. Instead we got just some vague things from the devs. And I really didn't care about streamers telling us to vote on their questions... it was really boring.
4 -
Those that left unsavory comments that were rule breaking, they were taken care of. We do not tolerate any kind of behavior that's demeaning, insulting, etc. to people/a group of people. Obviously, it is hard and nearly impossible to stop people from saying those things, but if they decided to do so, they receive consequences for it. I'm sorry if this has ruined the experience for some of people attending though, the Stream was great and effort was put into it - we're all a big community, this includes many people from different walks of lives.
I know the stream might have not been for everyone the right thing, which is perfectly fine, if you didn't like it, you didn't like! However, it is important that it doesn't grant anyone the right to insult people on the screen, no matter for what. You're free to not be a fan of streams presented, just be respectful and civil about it! I hope for the future that people will be more respectful in this regard.
2 -
Have you considered making the anniversary streams subscriber only (or whatever it's called), similar to Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ)? The stream chat for those events was also absolutely awful until they made it subscriber only.
The stream chat is too fast to have any kind of discussion anyway so it might not be a huge loss if the number of people who use it is limited to subscribers only.
1 -
We want everyone to be able to enjoy the streams which would not be possible if it was subscriber only. The twitch channel also does not offer any kind of subscription at all.
2 -
Mine are instant during the day and only take 2-3 minutes at night. During the day for killer it takes me around 4-5 minutes to get a killer game and it's instant at night. I have never waited that long for a survivor game.
0 -
When they were saying cringe etc to things to do with pride and lgbt members it was gross and I was disappointed to say the least. However when they were mocking Puppers it genuinely made my blood boil!!!.
2 -
Cant wait to use it 😁
1 -
That's not surprise considering how much sad pathetic little kids we have in this community for us is to ignore it trust me you don't fight someone filled with hate u'll just wante ur time and nerves
0 -
I'll be honest, I'd never heard him speak before and had no idea if that was the way he normally spoke. I kept my mouth shut because it felt inappropriate to bring that up. I'm sad that he had a stroke, but happy that he survived, and even happier that he didn't let it stop him.
If you read this, Puppers, you're awesome.
2 -
I must say that I opened the chat in the youtube live and I haven't noticed many hateful comments, but that's probably because I stopped watching the stream in like...50 minutes maybe?
But I gotta admit some of it was really cringy to me...I mean, I wanted to watch this stream to, of course, see the RE trailer but also to find some new information about the game and what's to come and what I got were streamers, cringy reaction videos and etc...I mean it's cool for people who actually are interested in this sort of videos/people (cosplayers, streamers...) But to me, a player who well...only plays this game felt a bit dunno, weird to me so that's why I actually stopped the stream cause I felt like I'm being pushed to watch something I don't care about at all. So next year I'll just skip the stream and then watch it later and skip these parts.
But yeah, hateful comments are immature, that's for sure.
2 -
Is the chat feature especially useful? 90% of it seemed to be spamming stuff like "cringe" and "amogus" over and over. I'm also pretty sure I saw sexually explicit among us text art before it got deleted, not that I'm an art critic or anything
2 -
All I saw was 1s, 2s, and the occasional 3.
0 -
I saw someone use a laughing emoji and say "Puppers sounds like a pig LOL" and other people said nasty things It made me mad ngl
1 -
Wait Wait WAIT are you saying to me that they insulted Puppers. These absolute neanderthals thought it was cool to insult a survivor or a stroke. Lemme find those odds real quick.
Yeah right here
A total of 2990 patients (72%) survived their first stroke by >27 days, and 2448 (59%) were still alive 1 year after the stroke; thus, 41% died after 1 year. The risk for death between 4 weeks and 12 months after the first stroke was 18.1% (95% CI, 16.7% to 19.5%).
Lets see the dudes who insulted him survive those odds.
2 -
I may have in my anger screwed that up
Sorry if I did get the wrong odds.
Me get big mad when I learned that and I kinda just did a reaaaallly quick one if I did get it wrong please tell me and ill see if I can find better ones and fix it
Edit: Good news after more research I think I'm fine but then again still kinda upset so yeah previous message still stands if I got it wrong
1 -
I can't blame the chat for your original point. I don't see the problem with a pride charm, but for Otz, the most influential of the Fog Whisperers, to not show up definitely struck a lot of people.
Now, what I was pissed about were the people making fun of and bullying Puppers in chat. Some were telling him to stop talking with a lisp or acting like he had a disease. That kind of ######### should've resulted in people being banned.
1 -
The sad thing is that he had the stroke like 1 year ago and he's dying of ALL (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), people usually die after 1-5 years after they have been diagnosed with it (there are cases of people who lived for more than that, but that's rare)
0 -
Yeah thats what I'm saying I'd like to see the people who insulted him survive a stroke and the repercussions. My aunt had a stroke a very long time ago and while she is living she still cannot talk "correctly" and she cannot walk without assistance from my uncle who is always very worried about her. And because of her I cannot sympathize with anyone let alone be nice or in anyway decent to someone who makes fun of stroke victims. It is one of the very few things that actually grind my gears. Normally i'm a chill dude I like to preach positivity I feel the world were in needs it but some people need to be put back down to the sewer they crawled out of.
