items addons and offerings are getting used, despite disconnection before game start

so I've been getting disconnected during the loading screen into the game despite having a stable internet connection, which is a separate problem but I noticed that I also lose my items, add ons, and offering as if I died or disconnected in-game before the game has started. like, I never know which games are going to drop me before they start and its frequent enough that its a real problem with playing survivor and wanting to play rare items that I don't even get to use. i don't play killer enough to know if it does the same thing when I cant connect to a game, but I do fail to connect as killer as well.
