Year 6 Roadmap Feedback
DLC schedule: No complaints about you keeping the 4 DLC per year cycle, but hopefully this year you can do so with fewer game-breaking bugs.
4 tomes: Sure...whatever....I don't really care but I know some people do so good for them. I'd be much more excited if all the blank spots in the free rift track were filled with iridescent shards (bloodpoints would be pay to progress).
Events: The anniversary event sounds like a copy paste from last year. I'm really not liking that the outfits are based on social media codes yet again but at least we can earn something from actual gameplay, even if it is crowns again. You said your Halloween event is always a lot of work... What!?!? The Halloween "event" last year was the most bare bones event I've ever seen. Minimal effort clearly went into it and nothing was able to be earned via gameplay. You went from two full outfits earned via gameplay in the previous years to none. When the backlash hit, you started doing daily log-in bonuses (not gameplay) to give people currency to buy 1 outfit... Talk about 2 steps over the line, one step back. This event single-handedly drove me to stop buying outfits from your store, which I did pretty consistently up until that point. Hopefully greed won't be the driving factor in this year's Halloween event.
Tutorial updates: That's nice for new players. Bot matches are nice for trying out new killers too. Keep updating them both. It would be nice to use any killer in bot matches.
Role incentives: Great change to reduce queue times. Make them worthwhile rewards like 50 iridescent shards and/or 25k bloodpoints per game if a point threshold is met (to prevent AFK farming) and this will work. If you are stingy with the rewards, no one will be incentivized to switch roles.
Auto-ban: Horrible idea. Worst idea you've ever had. If implemented like you described, it will be an unmitigated disaster. People get reported for everything that could possibly make other players mad. Scrap this idea.
News in other languages: Awesome change for the non-English speaking community.
Game health: It sounds like you're going to put more time into polishing older content to reduce issues/bugs? If that's the case, great change.
New UI: Moving away from using outdated technology is definitely the way to go but the player HUD changes that were implemented as a result were poorly done. Improvements like better character icons that don't clash with the visual style and making them horizontal like they were to not obstruct peripheral views would be much appreciated. If you must stick with the portraits, they should at least reflect the cosmetics the characters are currently wearing.
Stabilization: Hopefully this means you're actively making changes to make the game run smoother for everyone. Definitely a good allocation of resources.
Realm beyond: Keep up the good work. The art team is doing a fantastic job with the maps and characters as always. I wasn't a fan of daytime Coldwind, but I know some people like it. Terrain relief sounds like it will make maps look more realistic. New animations have been a bit of a hit or miss but hopefully you keep improving the ones that aren't up to par. Particularly survivor standing, moving, and injured animations.
Killer updates: Weren't you already balancing new killers in the updates following their release? What about older killers that still need updates like Trapper? He really needs at least a brown bag basekit. Many older killers still need add-ons tweaked or reworked as well.
Boon totems: You essentially said you have an idea but can't tell us anything about it right now. Thanks.
Moris: Moris were already changed to be on death hook only, which was a fantastic change since the survivor was pretty much dead already. It actually wasn't ending the game prematurely for them anymore. Keys should have been changed at the same time though. I'm guessing this new system is designed to add more side objectives for the survivors to keep gens from going too fast? If they don't do these side objectives and rush the gens, the killer can mori? If they do these side objectives, they can use their key? What happens to our mori offerings? Again, not really any information was given.
Other things not mentioned:
The early game ramp-up phase. It sounded like you were going to do something along the lines of a reverse endgame collapse but then you said that this has changed into something else. I've really been hoping for a new mechanic where each gen is missing a part and survivors can inspect a gen, get an aura of the part (which is located somewhere between 30 and 60 meters from the gen), pick it up (gaining an aura of the gen it belongs to), and bring it back to the gen to install it and start repairing the gen like usual. Gen times can be reduced to like 60 seconds to compensate and the killer hitting the survivor causes them to drop the gen part they were carrying. This will fix the early game issues and result in more killer/survivor interaction. Please make it happen.
Multiple loadouts for each killer and survivor. This is a quality of life improvement that is desperately needed. Please let us know if you are planning on implementing this (you have previously acknowledged this request).
Xbox and PS cross-progression. You already know the community wants to know where this is at. Please give us a status update.
New items. You previously asked for ideas from the community regarding new survivor items to put in the game. People had tons of great suggestions like items that could destroy breakable walls or restore broken pallets. I suggested a rusty old shotgun that would have a 50% chance of stunning the killer and a 50% chance of backfiring and damaging the survivor firing it for a single health state. Any news on new items coming into the game?
The grind. Any word on reducing the grind considering how many characters and perks are now in the game? More perks per bloodweb? The ability to sell unwanted items and add-ons? More bloodpoints and a higher cap in trials? More perks in the shrine each week? Changes like these would be really appreciated. Considering all the perks in the game competing for our attention now, it might also be a good idea to allow killers and survivors to bring 5 or 6 perks into each trial.
Thanks for listening. Hopefully this feedback is helpful.
