Self care not bad perk
When you play solo you will have teammates that won't heal you and they will point at gen and because you weren't healed killer found you and hit you....this is why I run it when playing solo.
Note: I was playing against a hag and my teammate who was injured as well as I was didn't want to heal...and let's say hag had laid traps through out the map.

Here are some better options
- Inner strength let’s you cleanse totems (which is a great benefit to the team) to get a much faster heal
- Second wind hike inconsistent is faster and allows you to do other actions while it works
- Just bring a medkit tbh
- Bond, aftercare or empathy let you find teammates to heal and get healed from
I could go on

Self-Care isn't inherently bad. It's just how people use it that make it bad.
Running to the corner of the map to brute force your way through a Sloppy Butcher heal? That is bad.

Lol I remember a match in which a survivor I unhooked immediately went into spasms demanding that I heal him immediately. He was almost a blur, he was bouncing so fast. I said aloud (to myself) "we'll get there, we'll get there. You be patient and wait". To be fair once we got away from the hook and out of view when I DID heal him he did a "thank you" spasm as well.
Self-care is cool, it just takes too damn long. It's somewhat impractical spending time running off to find a safe healing spot and then spending like another half a minute just to do the job. That said I've never bothered powering the perk up, it's probably not so bad at full tier. I've heard a LOT of different opinions though.

Self care is a good perk... When paired with other perks or used as a last resort.

Self-Care isn't a bad perk, I agree. But people just don't know how to use it right, which is why I think Claudette deserves a new perk added to her kit to replace Self-Care.

I try to run self care with botany or desperate measures in case of sloppy because it takes half a gen itself to heal. I think it's a good perk when used right like say maybe during the endgame.

Gens before mends. 🙃

quite frankly i am not a fan when others run selfcare as in my experience they are usually off in a corner selfcaring instead of unhooking/gens/etc. To each their own.
I play solo probably 95 % of the time and run bond - main Jake. never really had issues running up to teammate for a quick heal - its points for them. i also run inner strength on occasion with small game to cleanse totems too depending on who i play (Big Booty Jane).
