Counter to Spirit?

What is it,

I understand some basics like double backing on scratch marks and stuff like that. More so what is it when a Spirit is running strider. I have been trying to think of something but cant for the life of me. The main reason I ask this is with all of the nerf Spirit threads you have people saying she doesn't need one and says she has plenty of counter play. However they don't list anything or just so "go watch X content creator they know how".

Am I just completely braindead on this?

Thanks

On the skill of a "tournament player", throw every pallet on the map and pray :D

Firecrackers and the new flashbang if it also impairs hearing can help but other than that spirit with a headset and good add-ons is just the best and easiest thing right now it takes skill away from the survivors

The 100% working, consistent counterplay to Spirit is to cry in the corner of your room. I do it and it works 100% of the time. Enjoy!

This, pray that she somehow misses you or doesn't find you at all.

Stand still and make her think you're phasing. She'll never see it coming.

Remember when Survivors tried stealthing to prevent a chase from even occurring? Instead of standing out in the open, maybe even spamming the point emote, to try to initiate a chase that they know they can win against 99% of the Killer characters?

Never double back on scratch marks you are running back into her. Also you'll be getting a message for using the term b dead they did it to me already

Don't try to double back on your scratch marks. It's a pretty obvious sound for a Spirit with good audio and Stridor.

Best thing you can do is make as much distance as possible and drop pallets early. A good Spirit will just stand at the pallet and phase if you don't drop the pallet right away, so there's no point in not using it.

Briefly let go of your run button and movement button when you want to stop running to walk. This resets your breathing back to normal. Otherwise you breathe louder for 3.5 seconds after running. Simply going from run to walk without letting go of the button doesn't reset the breathing.

Slow vaulting pallets will almost never work against a decent Spirit. Too loud. Better to walk away from it to a weird spot if you're healthy.

The big thing is stay healthy as long as possible, make as much distance as you can, and use the map resources. You can't control whether teammates are going to be good or not, so keep the chase going and hope your teammates actually hold M1.

Suicide on first hook to show them that they are lame is the best counterplay

A spirit that doesn't suck? None beyond having tournament skills and dropping most pallets early. Even then it's heads or tails.

Spirit that sucks? Move strangely, crouch sometimes, player immersed. Bad spirits are still volatile and can sometimes catch you off guard because they themselves don't know what they are doing. Luckily, these are more or less the majority and 100% those that defend Spirit (there's quite a bit).
