rank 1 1% trickster, 3 matches in a row to show top trickster performance when played well
I recorded 3 matches in a row while playing Trickster and these are the games I got.
In these 3 matches I got 12 hooks in each of them I believe
The first match I had a very easy games and the survivors had no clue what to do at all, but obviously this is because of the MM being broken, but doesn't change the fact I used the trickster properly.
The second match I had lots of fun and things were interesting but not much as been done either, but was still really fun.
The third match had the most effective survivors from the 3 matches, obviously far from being competitive survivors but they did more than the survivors from the previous matches, I hope you'll enjoy this one the most.
This is rank 1 trickster main gameplay, hopefully this will make you change your mind on trickster and makes you want to play him more and learn him so we see more Tricksters overall.
Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoyed this rank 1 gameplay.

The best way to use the knives are just to use them mainly in the open or at extended loops to wear a survivor down. Never use them like Huntress trying to snipe someone around a pallet due to the 8 knives requirement. In the open, you can REALLY mess people up quickly lol.

You’re using the best addons. They’re both green and not sustainable to run every game.
In my eyes, a Killer is only good if they’re viable without addons or just brown ones
21 -
did I really needed the add-ons anyway?
idc about "killers being good only if they don't need add-ons" you obviously don't play killer at all for thinking this, add-ons improve the killer, why stay stuck with the base kit if you can improve it and have more fun? we all think differently, you have your ways of thinking what a good killer is, everybody else has their own.
2 -
Exactly, it works really well at those places
2 -
But how much should add-ons and perks go into deciding the balance of a killer?
7 -
top 1% trickster
"obviously mm is broken"
22 -
it is broken, doesn't change the fact I land my blades and use his power effectively, I could miss all my blades
2 -
Although I can somewhat agree, I think the whole “I didn’t win because I didn’t have decent brown/yellow add ons”, or “I didn’t win because this killer is crap without add ons” is a trap.
I play well without add ons with Clown, someone regularly argued as being add on dependant, particularly before his rework and add on pass.

The green USB addon drastically changes his power, not trying to discredit what you're saying but it does make him much more tolerable and easier (not in a bad way) to play well
You might think 'oh it's one less knife to down, surely that's not a massive difference' but when you factor in the oppertunities you have to pelt survivors with knives, how many of them can be avoided by survivors playing well and moving side to side and the general increase of speed/pressure it gives you, it's insane.
13 -
it's true it's a massive difference, I could remove it but I have 50 of those and since they are so good I have no reason to take it off
0 -
I've seen so many people try to play him like Huntress at short loops and sacrifice hits over blades. You played well! You definitely know the best times to use his blades.
1 -
I'm not saying you shouldn't use it honestly, addons are there to be used
I just wish his basekit felt good to play so that addons didn't feel like a necessity. Kinda like Trapper and old Wraith but not as bad as those two
1 -
My god you have some of the most "chill" survivors living in your matchmaking area. Your sound is also edited to hell with software to "cheat"
0 -
Your Trickster gameplay is amazing. Its really interesting.
1 -
First 20 seconds I see a Bill running in a straight line and then turning around and running into the Killer.
1 -
thanks :)
1 -
I don't always get value out of it but if they are close to me in thight space I can get 1 stack and get all the value later on, and if I have many tokens I can use my power sooner, I use it on deathslinger as well, so I can reload faster and shot faster or hit and shot faster.
Is it a needed perk? no, but it's a good perk nonetheless on him, in the first and third video I have more value out of it

My mic was on which I forgot to disable, this is why you hear that sound when there's no music of much sounds effect
0 -
glad you think so :) thanks
0 -
yes, welcome to greys into purple ranks by daylight

You're also missing most of your knives.
0 -
100% every knives I dare you
2 -
Hit more than 25% of your knives. I dare you.
If this is "top 1% Trickster gameplay" then my belief that he's a training wheels version of Huntress has been further cemented.
0 -
who cares about that?
0 -
Well if the top %1 of Tricksters aren't very good at Trickster, I'm not sure if their opinion of Trickster should be that worthy of being taken into account.
1 -
Do you perhaps have any examples of what a really good trickster looks like then?
1 -
No. There are no good Tricksters because they're all playing Huntress.
1 -
Trickster is a killer that throw blades fast and has recoil and need to track survivors movement pretty well, huntress has 1 big hatchet that goes really fast and requires 1 hit, trickster requires 8 hits (7 with the add-on) obviously you'll miss some blades because of walls and other things covering the survivors, this killer isn't meant to pay attention to your shots, you have 60 blades, you can waste them trying to hit survivors, you can't with huntress but she injures right away, it's not about landing every single blades that makes you 1% trickster, it's when to use it, land enough at the right places to get quick downs and apply lots of pressure since most of the usually safe loops are totally unsafe, even when huntress can have a hard time at some of the loops which trickster does not, trickster is harder to play than huntress since he requires continuous tracking while huntress require some patience to throw it at the right place when they try to dodge you. a big loop which has long walls is a pain for trickster and can take away your progress while huntress you simply follow until you have a clear shot for 1 hatchet.
You are obviously trolling anyway so this discussion ends here, good day

People who are good at huntress aren't automatically good with trickster though
Their powers are different in terms of control, output. The result might be the same i.e a survivor taking damage but most killer powers are 'x happens and survivor takes damage'
2 -
So you're not meant to pay attention to your shots and instead know when to blindly spam them as opposed to going for an M1 or dropping the chase.
You know who else has to do that? Every single Killer ever made.
In order to be a good Trickster, you have to have basic knowledge of when an M1 attack is and isn't a good idea. What a skill cap.
0 -
They're probably just fine with Trickster. It's just that he's the worst Killer in the entire game.
0 -
How about a Rank 3, bottom 99% Trickster on Midwich vs Rank 1 and 2 survivors as a comparison?
1 -
Man, that person really sucks at the video game.
Anyways, your point?
0 -
For the instances where using knives will deny you a hit.
1 -
So...only Haddonfield, which is bad for pretty much every killer INCLUDING Nurse.
1 -
His power is best used in an open area, thin halls or when they're hugging a wall. Mainly, Knives are good for places where they have to either dodge a bit before they can safely get somewhere or when they're in a thin hall or room that makes it hard to dodge them. Otherwise, it's always best to make them drop a pallet quickly then break it instead of trying to use knives over it. You're wasting knives and time that could be spent chucking at them when they run away from the loop shortly after breaking it.
0 -
Idk man seeing those survivors run in a straight line and throwing pallets in front of you shows how inexperienced they might be. But nice as long as you enjoy him. Ive tried him and in my opinion slinger and huntress are more optimal than trickster. Hes just not exciting to play as when you have those 2. The only thing going for him might be his terro radius but even slinger has the upper hand in that field as well.
0 -
Their awful powers at least don't strip them of their 115 speed.
0 -
Ah yes, the 110 Killer who's better off M1'ing most of the time has a useful threatening power that is worthy of losing 115 speed.
2 -
I’m a Rank 1 Killer. And I obviously play Killer more than you because I run out of good addons and can’t sustain games with green/purple addons.
So if im going to play a Killer on a regular basis and not dump points into them all the time. They need good addons to be common or they have to not need them at all.
For reference, I play Twins, Spirit, Blight, Deathslinger, Pyramid Head and Legion most of the time. The addons are nice but if I’m running low its not a big deal you can run the common stuff or none at all

Did you know that line-of-sight blockers exist?
1 -
I'm surprised you've entertained these people this long. It's been pretty much agreed by anyone that's not how shall I say.... We'll go with fanboying, that Trickster is just terrible. But kudos to you for not going off on the trolls. I would have.
0 -
Oh, you know, the thing that completely and utterly destroys his power and turns him into a 110 M1 Killer if Survivors have more than 2 feet of distance on him is a non-issue.
0 -
Sounds like someone got roasted by a Trickster because they can't play.
Just put a physical object between you and him next time. You become invincible. Pro tip.
0 -
As someone who desperately wants to like The Trickster, I can't say I'm convinced. These survivors were completely clueless, making many glaring obvious rookie mistakes.
1 -
You're being unnecessarily aggressive right now.
You're allowed to have an opinion, but this is just ridiculous.
1 -
Can we all just agree he is the weakest BEGGINER killer. Not the hardest killer to learn, just the weakest killer for average killer users. Meaning your average killer user is going to get destroyed by most survivors. You need to have to have 1000s of hours into killer to make the trickster seem like a decent killer vs average survivors. Lets hope he gets some buffs I think we can all agree on that 😎
0 -
But heres my question, whats the point, what is the point of playing this killer over X other killer who preforms better or X killer who both preforms better and has similar gameplay with ranged attacks
sure you can do decent with X but why would you want to train to be decent with X when you could train to be amazing with Y or unbeatable with Z, I just don't understand the appeal especially since it is repeated gameplay of other powers
2 -
Duly noted and ignored.

what is his own set of things he is good at
