PC - Game starts really zoomed in on an ultrawide screen

Hey,
So I bought a 42" screen that uses resolution 3840x1200. When I start the game it's really zoomed in, to the point where it's basically unplayable. And since the game doesn't offer us to set our own resolution, I can't force it to use 1920x1080 with black bars on the sides. Tried changing the GameUserSettings.ini to 1080p but that didn't help either. Please come with a solution, because otherwise I cannot play the game.
