I'm hoping for a Dracula/Vampire Killer for upcoming chapter honestly...

You're right he is before their time. He is a more iconic horror creature than any 80's or 90's slasher.
1 -
Absolutely; you get no argument from me there. However, I'm not sure he would be done proper honor by whatever campy style slasher creature they would have to do to make him work in DbD.
1 -
This. Like Frankenstein, Dracula is an icon far greater than any random slasher.
1 -
Personally, I'd love if they added Frankenstein's Monster, but it's too easy to say he would likely play like other Killers.
Also, I don't know if there is an official thing to this, but they seem to go for Killers that are more 80s+. Classic movie monsters don't seem to be their target. Could be wrong, though.

Castlevania is great. I didn't play it as a kid so it's not nostalgia. I even challenged myself with rondo of blood and defeated every boss without taking any damage and not using powers. Loved sotn and bloodlines too.

Agreed. And @Moundshroud Yes I would only want them to do it in a classic yet edgy way to do Dracula justice. I'm not saying Cheesy but I'm not saying Twilight either lol.

Meh not really aggreing with Frankenstein, if youre not talking about the doctor but his creature. The creature was more a victim than a coldblood killer ( such as Rin i know )

I meant the stories, not characters. Mary Shelley's Frankenstein and Bram Stoker's Dracula. Although I suppose the distinction is irrelevant.

But that is the problem, Dead by Daylight is essentially a chase game. Like the 80s and 90s slashers it is jump scares and in your face horror. The closest it can come to gothic terror is a skin, and that isn't going to do justice to the Impaler. Stoker's vampires were subtle, deadly creatures not in your face monsters (although I'm sure they could be when the need arose). Reducing the Count to a chasing people around a map would be tragic no matter how it is done. We would end up with something more akin to that Dracula in the horrible Van Helsing movie staring Hugh Jackman. I just don't think a chase game can do gothic horror.

Yeah, they are missing like
Dracula
Wolfman
Frankenstein
Mummy
Anything Cthulhu mythos
All of these are public domain too so they don't need a license.

I mean Jason was also at first just a victim to others before going crazy killing people. But I get what you're saying. The PIg (Amanda) Was just a regular drug addict before being tested by JigSaw.

some landlord... so you know, just the worst

tbf... the demogorgon is kind of a cthulhu mythos creature... kinda... the mindflayer certainly is.

It appears things got derailed in here, let's keep the discussion on-topic, please. If you wish to continue the anime-related discussion, please feel free to open a new thread on it.

lovecraftian eldritch god.

that's basically the entity

ye.

I guess I kind of agree with you. I can see this "Goth" Look of Dracula chasing people around and if done wrong it would be tragic.
0 -
Yes those would all be good additions. I can see a skin for Frankenstein for Doctor.
0 -
Sorry @EQWashu u I was trying to give people reasons as to why a Dracula would still be good and even if potentially based off of the anime series Dracula so it could be a little more edgy. I will do my best to keep this topic on point :)
1 -
Or at the very least...a vampire.
1 -
That's pretty much what I am going for. If I am being honest I could see a vampire that fits well into this game. And a Dracula skin. I just think overall I am surprised a vampire isn't in this game. But perhaps it's too much of a cliché? But with the Castlevania series being a hit I don't see why they couldn't pull it off.

How about Dracula from Transylvania? The show is dope, games are legendary, and he's one of the cooler renditions of Dracula. Survivors could be Trevor and tifa. Sheeee, I may just make a chapter concept, its been a while
1 -
Ya in this discussion we we're kind of thinking that a little bit. But ya I could see Dracula and Two survivors for sure. Trevor and Tifa would be sick. Would be interesting for sure. Let me know what concept you come up with.
1 -
Draculas power would work where after you down a survivor, you may drink from them to gain power before picking them up. I'm thinking it'll have a low budget chase power and a strong ult.
1 -
That would actually be cool. I could see him downing the survivor and getting a power boost after drinking the survivors blood. I need to make a concept for Dracula

Soo apparently there is rumor of Dracula actually coming to DBD. As to weather it is so or not is TBD. Even popular Youtuber Schmuckles even referred to it in one of his recent videos.

I really hope Van Helsing chapter.
Dracula new killer, Van Helsing new survivor and Draculas Castle new map.
1 -
So actually speculation suggests it might be more based off the original Dracula "Vlad the Impaler" And he is clearly seen in the DBD archives video in front of his castle. Now we know DBD doesn't like to leak reveals. But it is similar to what they did with Blight. Who was most likely resembling Jekyll and Hyde. But since Dracula is open domain DBD can put what ever spin they want on it. I don't think we would see them trying to to get license on a killer form of Dracula when they can just make their own. Which if I am being honest would be another original killer for DBD. If it was from per say Castlevania than they'd need to get the license for it. So long story short they would need to decide if it would be more profitable to get a licensed version of Dracula or make their own concept.

Original Dracula will not get new players, they will sell only to DbD players. But new licenses comes with new players. So i think this will worth it.
1 -
Oh I totally agree. If it were up to me I'd want to see a Castlevania version. But I am also very supportive of DBD original killers. Earlier in this discussion you see a segment related to Castevania Dracula. If I am being honest I would be happy either way.

lmao :D That was unexpected

Indeed it was!
@Pilot What do you mean your native roots? 😲
