Should the rusty shackles add-on be changed?
I rarely encounter Hag players who use this add-on, quite honestly I rarely play against Hag, but when I do play against them, most of the time they use this add-on, and I think it's a horrific add-on.
Think about the prayer beads nerf- why was it changed? Because Spirit used to be able to make no sound during phase, and so players never knew when she was in power or not, making it easy for her to get grabs, and meant that players were totally oblivious to her.
Isn't this literally the same case with Hag? The only difference is that technically you can avoid the traps if you do crouch everywhere, but I would never do that for a whole game, or if you were able to spot her traps, but that depends on what map you're on, and most of the time you can't see them. You never know if Hag has activated her ability, once again making it easy for grabs and meaning that players are completely oblivious to her, like how it was with prayer beads.
So I'm genuinely curious as to how this add-on has never been addressed. Of course it has its differences to prayer beads, but I'd argue that it's very similar, and players have no way to counter a rusty shackles Hag, unless they decide to crouch everywhere, but that's a very unrealistic way to play the game.

It's the most braindead Hag add-on out there. It removes the ability for survivors to disarm traps by running on them because of how unpredictable it is. Definitely needs a rework.

Make it ultra-rare
Make water-logged shoe purple
That'd be my suggestion

How does changing its rarity make it less powerful?
5 -
Because at least it being as strong as it is makes sense?
It drastically changes how Hag works, just like Mint rag does (another exceptionally strong addon)

Nah. I like basekit Hag better, because it doesn't move the survivor's camera with shackles

I much prefer playing against shackles than no shackles tbh. Chances are you're getting hit anyway if you trigger a trap, shackles or not. And shackles also doesn't hurl your camera around to face the phantasm...thing...whatever it's called...because there isn't one. Because jerking your camera around and removing control from the player in a multiplayer game is so fun and makes so much sense, right?

Yes should be changed.

yes it always seemed like a "equip this add on to have a severe braindead experience"

Well the thing is if you run after hag and look what she does you know exactly where the traps are, therefore rusty shackles wont really work on you. Also keep in mind that with rusty shackles she is giving up 2 things : her Radar and even more important the cam swing. The hag is giving up a lot of important things to get these other strenghts.
However it should be one of her ultra rare addons

I honestly think the rusty shackles aren't as good as base hag. The lack of a camera swing in particular...
but yeah... should make it ultra rare. it is very powerful.

It is the same as prayer beads, but hey its Hag so they'll probably leave it the way it is.
Such a badly designed killer.

like how getting stunned jerks your camera around and removes control?

Imo Rusty Shackles actually makes Hag weaker, because one of Hag's strengths is disorienting survivors with the camera flick that happens once they trigger a trap, Rusty Shackles doesnt have that camera flick, so survivors can continue running the path they were taking and in some cases reach a pallet or window when they otherwise couldnt
Also if you trigger a Hag's trap, youre most likely gonna get hit anyway, whats the difference between knowing when she pops up or not? It just makes it slightly more of a jumpscare if anything

^^This would be perfect!
I believe you're new to the game so I'd like you to introduce you to Ultra Rare add-ons: half the time they make the killer's power 10 times better, sometimes they do nothing at all or even make the killer worse :c

Grabbing with rusty shackles is super easy, if a survivor doesn't know who the killer is, or what rusty shackles is, then they're vulnerable to grabs since they don't know they triggered the trap. Not a massive deal, but the power is oddly similar to prayer beads, and doesn't inform the survivor that the killer is using their power.

You can still crouch at the gen if you think there's a trap there, and if the survivor doesnt know what Rusty Shackles is then boom, they just learned what it does and better prepare themselves for the next time they verse a Rusty Shackles Hag.
Rusty Shackles sacrifices a very important tool for a gimmick that might work once or twice in the early game

As a Hag main I agree that it really needs to be changed. The only downside is that it doesn't affect the camera of the survivors, so certain types of traps don't work, but even that isn't that big of a drawback

I've been playing a lot more Hag lately and this addon feels way too strong. You get free hit and grabs unless multiple Survivors start triggering like 3 traps at once. Grabs on hooks and gens were pretty common in my games.
They are just like the old Prayer beads imo. It should at least be an ultra rare addon.

Regardless of if she has the add-on or not doesn't matter. If the trap is already activated you can't disarm it with a flashlight. The same with running. It doesn't feel like you're making a point because even running you disarm it the same.

You can tell whenever you disarm it because it shows when Hag pops out of the trap.

But that doesn't change that you "disarmed" it as you put it. Honestly, if you're doing it with you're feet you aren't disarming it, you're activating it and that's the point of the add-on. You can't see it activate.
