Twins Rework / new Charlotte power and making Victor a killer
TL;DR:
- Killer and Survivors get less Bloodpoints and Emblem points then they should.
- All perks are disabled while using Victor, which reduces build variety. Survivor perks are also effected.
- Effective use of Victor means camping and excessive slugging.
- The Twins is really just The Victor, because boring Charlotte has no power.
Bloodpoint / Emblem Fixes
From the game's perspective, Victor is technically not a Killer. The reason why you receive less Bloodpoints in the Hunter category as Killer, or the Boldness category as a Survivor, is because Victor cannot participate in chases. You will still earn some points, but it is significantly less then you would expect. The Emblems are also impacted.
Killer
For Killer, you gain points for the Chaser Emblem and the Hunter category by doing the following:
- Beginning a chase with a Survivor
- Hitting a Survivor during a chase
- Ending a chase by downing the Survivor
It is impossible for Victor to do these on his own.
If you chase a Survivor as Charlotte then Unbind Victor, there is a 5 second buffer before the chase actually ends where you can attack. If you use Victor to down some one on the opposite side of the map, you receive nothing.
Survivor
For Survivor, you gain points for the Evader Emblem and the Boldness category by doing the following:
- Being / Doing things in the Killer's Terror Radius
- Being in a chase with the Killer
- Escaping from a chase
No.1 reveals another issue: Victor does not have a Terror Radius, and Charlotte has no Terror Radius while you are controlling Victor. When you swap to Victor, Survivors cannot do anything to gain points.
Victor needs to be made into a Killer, allowing him to chase, as well as giving him a Terror Radius. I go more into his Terror Radius later.
Perk Synergies
Perks are disabled while you are using Victor. I played a match with this build to use as an example:
- Discordance - Does not trigger while using Victor. It works normally while using Charlotte, but switching to Victor turns the generator back to red.
- Play With Your Food - Victor cannot gain stacks, but Pounce removes stacks. Does not give Victor movement speed.
- Spies From The Shadows - Does not notify you if you are Victor.
- Cruel Limits - Does nothing when you are Victor, as if the perk wasn't bad enough.
Because Victor is not a Killer, and also does not have a Terror Radius, Survivor perks are also impacted:
- Spine Chill and Premonition do not trigger on Victor.
- Perks that require a Terror Radius (Diversion, Stake Out) do not function.
- Aura reading perks like Kindred do not reveal Victor.
Disabling perks for Victor reduces perk variety and ruins a lot of potential builds. And because Victor cannot chase and has no Terror Radius, there would still be a limited variety even if perks were to be enabled.
VICTOR'S SHRIEK / TERROR RADIUS
Victor does not have a Terror Radius, and instead has a Shriek Radius, similar to Freddy's and Huntress' Lullabies. His Shriek Radius is inconsistent, with 12 meters when left idle, 14 meters when attached to a Survivor, and 18 meters while you are controlling him.
Victor's shrieking should be removed, and replaced with his own 16 meter Terror Radius. This is more consistent and also allows both Victor and the Survivors to make use of Terror Radius effecting perks. If shrieking is replaced with a Terror Radius, a few changes would be necessary:
- When Victor is left idle, Survivors within his Terror Radius are revealed to you.
- When Victor latches onto a Survivor, he keeps his Terror Radius for 5 seconds.
- The Undetectable status effect now applies to Victor, this makes him stealthy but removes his detection.
I would also give him a Red Stain, which would be very small due to his size and distance from the ground.
ADD-ON CHANGES
The following changes are for replacing Victor's shrieking with a Terror Radius.
Soured Milk
A metal bottle filled with milk that has since soured. Loud as Victor could be, he quieted down when presented with his meal.
Slightly increases (+2 meters)the radius of Victor's shrieks.- Slightly increases (+2 meters) Victor's Terror Radius.
Madeleine's Glove
A glove once owned by The Twins' mother. During desperate times, Victor would be slapped to keep him from making a peep.
Moderately increases (+4 meters)the radius of Victor's shrieks.- Moderately increases (+4 meters) Victor's Terror Radius.
Cat's Eye
An eyeball that belonged to a cat eaten by the starving Deshayes family. Victor hid it from his mother, using it as a toy.
Victor's shrieks stop when Pounce is fully charged.- Victor is granted the Undetectable status effect while Pounce is fully charged.
Drop of Perfume
One of the few luxuries Madeleine escaped her past life with. It has a pleasant, disarming scent.
Survivors within the radius of Victor's shrieking suffer from theObliviousstatus effect.- Survivors within Victor's Terror Radius suffer from the Oblivious status effect.
Gameplay Changes
CAMPING
If Victor is within a hook's restriction radius (16 meters) and a Survivor is placed on that hook, Victor is killed. He instantly regrows, and can be used again as soon as you leave the hook's radius.
SLUGGING
Victor latches onto Survivors when he puts them into the dying state, like when he injures them.
- Victor still reveals the locations of nearby Survivors through Killer Instinct like normal.
- You can pick up a dying Survivor who has Victor on them. Victor rebinds himself to Charlotte.
- The downed Survivor cannot recover while Victor is attached to them, and must first Remove him.
- If another Survivor tries to help, they must first complete the Remove action to unlatch him.
- The downed Survivor and the helping Survivor can both work together to Remove him, but this has a 33% efficiency penalty, similar to sealing a Demogorgon portal.
While this does reduce The Twins snowball potential, I believe this is healthier for the game.
Charlotte's Power
Ability button (CTRL by default) - Unbind Victor and Control Victor / Charlotte
Power button (M2 by default) - Charlotte's Pounce (Bound) / Shriek (Unbound) and Victor's Pounce
While controlling Charlotte, if Victor is still Bound, you can charge Pounce. This functions similarly to Victor's Pounce, except he pounces out of Charlotte, and has an increased 5 second cooldown for missing. Shriek can be used during Victor's miss cooldown.
While controlling Charlotte, if Victor is Unbound, Pounce is replaced by Shriek. Using Shriek causes Victor to shriek very loudly, and the auras of all Survivors within his Terror Radius are revealed to you for 6 seconds. Victor becomes uncontrollable for the next 6 seconds, and Survivors within Victor's Terror Radius hear the shriek and are shown Victor's Aura.
Shriek has a 30 second cooldown before it can be used again.
The Cat Figurine add-on now shows the target location of both Victor and Charlotte's Pounces.
