Be honest: Would you be happy if every Killer was just an M1 Killer with no power
Curiosity struck me today after yet another Killer Nerf thread: Does this community actually want Survovor gameplay to be essentially a guaranteed win with little or no difficulty? It seems like any Killer that can be a credible threat is widely-hated and the rest have to play like they are actually brain damaged or they, too are also hated.
So..is this true? Do we really, actually want the game to be hold shift + w to win? I ask because honestly it seems that way.

This is like asking "would you be happy if survivors could just run in a straight line with no windows or pallets?"
There are people on both sides who want easy games, that doesn't mean all of them are like that.
36 -
Answer the question. it's a yes or no.
6 -
Seeing how much complaints there are about hag and wraith right now because they don't participate in standard looping really makes it seem that way
7 -
Well, if I can pull people into the Dream World BEFORE turning into a M1 killer then yes, I would be happy with it.
9 -
Unfortunately not. I actually came to this question because consistently since the game's release I have seen countless discussions about Killer nerfs that were mindbogglingly nonsensical and just today i said 'Maybe this is another way that BHVR just isn't listening'.
So I'm asking: Do people actually want games to be braindead easy as Survivor and for Killers to just be punching bags?
1 -
Might aswell make Trapper with no traps the only Killer.
2 -
It does feel like this, doesn't it? But..the thread exists to ask the question rather than assuming it, even if some people want to be little pricks and assume they know my motives. I know I probably won't get any real answers, but never let it be said that I didn't try.
2 -
No. It would be an extremely dull game if there is nothing in the way of variety between killers. It would just be "Battle of the Skins".
3 -
Hey, I'm sorry, but that would suck most of the fun out of playing Killer.
You probably got that thought cause of some stuck-up survivor main who think he/she is entitled to winning everytime.
0 -
A lot of stronger killers aren't disliked due to their strength, it's due to certain aspects of their power that are seen as unfun to play against.
For example:
Spirit - Gives 0 information as to what she is actually doing while seemingly standing still
Nurse - Ignores every defence survivors have
Old Freddy - Passively ignored certain perks, had both pressure in chase and map pressure
Hag - Traps require survivors to waste time in order to avoid activating them (crouching) and can potentially end a chase due to the camera shift mechanic
Huntress - Hitboxes
This even applies to weaker killers
Deathslinger - ADS causes survivors to lose distance on killer or get shot, they have to guess what the killer will do
Clown - Forces early pallet drops
Trapper - Survivors can be forced to guess where traps have been placed or disarmed
At the end of the day, very few people want killers to be weak, it's just that a lot of people find certain aspects of killers boring or unfun to play against. This is also completely subjective, someone who loves playing against Nurse might hate playing against Spirit, whereas another person may love playing against Hag but hate playing against Nurse.
Don't push the narrative that all survivors want killers nerfed into the ground because it simply isn't true.
6 -
No, they don't. Some people are just salty, or angry because of a recent defeat. They ask for nerfs, but in reality they don't really want them.
0 -
Spirit - Can't comment, don't play her because I hate being blinded and guessing.
Nurse - She does not. She doesn't ignore spatial awareness and learning to actually break LOS, use stealth and juke. What you mean is she negates the one skill that is most commonly had and honed by Survivors.
Old Freddy - pre-slowdown nerf Freddy was...eh. I guess. I don't care anymore, all the fun's been sucked out of him anyway. So sure.
Hag - I can't even take you seriously anymore. No setup Killer should be anywhere near a list of overpowered Killers.
Huntress - And if the hitboxes were any smaller nobody would ever get hit.
Deathslinger - One of the few Killers where the skill of the Killer player matters more than whether or not the Survivor made a mistake. Of course Survivors hate him; we established that they like being in control with their herd mentality.
Clown - Whatever. Not even taking you seriously anymore.
Trapper - HAHAHAHA! Are you kidding?! TRAPPER?!

Blue

Don't see why you're implying that I said Clown and Trapper were strong when I literally said that they were weak? I'm just pointing out that a lot of killers have aspects of their power that can be seen as unfun? I personally don't find the threat of an instant down after vaulting a window or pallet a very fun concept. And again, this is subjective, not everyone is going to have the same opinions on these killers. I personally love playing against Nurse but again, dislike Trapper. No need to be condescending about my opinions.

"There's no counterplay" lmao
0 -
Nah, variety is the spice of life.
I think that it could work with some changes to game mechanics, but it would be boring.
All the different powers make it more interesting as it presents different challenges for survivors.
1 -
I wasn't implying anything. I gave a rebuttal to your 'reasons why this Killer isn't fun to play against'. Actually, no - I was implying something: That the survivor playerbase is lazy as hell and refuses to learn any new skills. I have yet to see any compelling argument to the contrary.
0 -
So every killer is exactly the same, just a re-skin. Sounds boring for both sides.
That's a hard no.
0 -
So this is your run of the mill killer good, survivor bad thread, where the person who made the thread wants to hear nothing other than people agreeing with him then? Good to know.
10 -
well i wont play any killer again after that even uninstalling game.
anyway you know that some players play both and some of nerf suggestion is valid.
you could ask killer main that want survivors perk to be nerfed too.
both want to have a fair gameplay, only that maining one side that said this thing tbh
0 -
Agreed, but it feels like we're headed that way. We're even seeing it with newer Killers. Blight is a quasi-speed Killer who still has to run loops the normal way. Nemesis is an M1 Killer with pets and a ranged attack (but far from weak, not that I've seen anyone imply he's hopelessly weak).
I think that's where BHVR is trying to go: Killers becoming M1 with a special trick or two, but never a trick that makes 'Hold Shift + W' not the best strategy. This can be okay if every Killer is going to get some innate map pressure of some kind or a way to gain an advantage in at least a few of the main conflict points - for example, loops are one conflict point, hook skirmishes are a conflict point, generator defense/slowdown is a conflict point and so on.

Purple is the correct answer
7 -
NO
1 -
Thank you.
1 -
This is a broadly generalized and exaggerated assessment of many of the complaints that have been made about various killers.
8 -
That's nice. Thanks for coming.
1 -
Well, if you delete every Perk, Item, Addon & Offering from both sides, Yes.
0 -
No problem, thanks for making your intentions obvious.
5 -
Hell no.
I'm a 50/50 player tho so when I play survivor Im pretty confident against every killer there is. If less people mained survivor and played flex instead I think people would understand killers better... but that is asking too much, I kno ^^"
1 -
I have to agree with everything you said here. As far as spirit, SHE GUESSES ALSO. She often uses a perk to COUNTER another notoriously annoying survivor perk... Stridor =/= Iron Will.
2 -
No, I want every killer to be an M1 killer with no power but also with nurse's base speed. I also want hooks removed and flashlight clicking to give points.
0 -
Now that is a change I can get behind. Repeated crouching should also award points.
1 -
Shift w op. Walking in a straight line would be correct but without op fixated.
1 -
Pointing should also stun the killer for 10 seconds. It could be a perk called "finger guns". No cooldown.
Actually that's a stupid idea. It should be basekit
1 -
How long of a stun are we talking here? I think something like 10 seconds is balanced but I'm not sure.
Also I thought that maybe if you take Jane or Jeff and repeatedly crouch it could cause a mini earthquake that also stuns the killer
3 -
You mean like freddy he is a m1 killer wuth no power if you are awake or just legion
1 -
And what intention is that? I asked a yes or no question, you gave no helpful response while assuming my intentions. You came to pick a fight. I came to ask a question. Good day.
0 -
It doesn’t take a detective to figure out that this is a good ole “killer good survivor bad” post. You’re intentions are pretty clear
7 -
Nope. That’s like killer players who want every map to be midwich
0 -
No, I enjoy to be against different kind of Killers. If they all had the same "power" of just being M1, it'd be a bit boring.
0 -
So they need to work for their kills? Never
0 -
If anything, killers should have MORE powers to help differentiate them from one another. Passives that change the core flow of the game, like Freddy putting people to sleep, or Doctor's madness never being fully removable. Every killer should be a new, fresh challenge for the survivors, where typical tactics just don't work all the time, and new approaches have to be used. It shouldn't just be "M1 with a little bonus"
2 -
As a survivor main. No. I don't want the game boring.
0 -
I concur
2 -
Oh my! How dare people indicate something on one side of the "teams" may need balanced or changed for the better. They must want everything gutted!!!
Where's your thread asking if Killer mains want Survivor nerfed to start the match downed cause they want DH nerfed?!?
Hag needs her camping hooks toned down, she's only received buffs for years whether indirect or direct. I mained Hag back when she had stuns on her teleports. I know her better than most of you combined.
Wraith is the easiest Killer to play, it's not surprising his recent spike in power and popularity has caused backlash.
2 -
From what i have seen from Wraith buffs, yes they do. I mean people have been complaining for years that strong killers like nurse, spirit, freddy etc should be nerfed and weaker killers buffed closer to them. Once weak killers get buffed survivor mains still complain. In reality some players just want to face killers that are easy to loop against and many other counters.
0 -
No.

I would be happy if Killer abilities had real counterplay instead of boring (and also as a killer>) unfun "split up and do gens separated at any free time".
It's not fun if there is nothing you can do right in order to outplay a Killer. It's just "yea it's XYZ and I can't do anything bc if he does XYZ I'll just die no matter what except he's not good at it"
If Killer without abilities were fun I wouldn't cleanse against a Plague since release. Because this becomes pretty unfun over time.

Lol no.

I'm gonna be honest I'm not good at the game at all but even I would see that as absolutely boring
