Saddonfield... Time To Talk

I've gotten this map just now 6 times in a row. 2 offerings and just 4 happened by chances against some STIFF competition. Can we all just finally nerf or even remove this map entirely? Lol. It's terrible for pretty much EVERY KILLER! I still vote this map as the worst in the game.

You can tell how map design has improve when you look at haddonfield

Well at least until Hawkins anyway

Haddonfield hasn't been changed for so long because of license issues. I heard a little while ago that they did something with the Halloween license so we may see a Haddonfield rework sometime in the future.

just add breakable walls lmao that'll make the map more balanced and certainly won't make it worse and more frustrating overall

Not only Hawkins, Midwich and Raccoon exist too.

How is a breakable wall going to fix anything??? Breakable walls CREATE infinites half the times and you need to break them to remove it. The problem is that the main house has literal infinite windows.

Turn half the vault spots into breakable vaults. That way, the killer is speding time shutting down survivor escape paths, so that later game chases are more killer-sided.

That's a good idea but still, I'd rather if they reworked the entire landmark instead since it's so problematic.

The point I recognize as valid is that they don't happen to like the map. That's their prerogative.

The point that I'm tired of is "I don't like something so no one else should have it, just get rid of it".

I can understand that. Personally I’m fine with the existence of haddonfield (prolly cuz I main wraith but whatever) only thing I would say is that in a game that has such a massive difference in how balanced maps are. Being able to choose a map through an offering shouldn’t be a thing

This map should get an entire rework. I don't know any killer player that has liked this map.

Yeah it's just a frustration I have. There are people who don't like the upcoming Resident Evil map, but I do - I've played it, I enjoyed it, I had no problem on it (the survivors all got killed just fine, killers aren't going to be helpless on it like a lot of killer mains are claiming) - so it's irritating to see people go from "here's what I personally don't like about it" to "get rid of it because I don't like it".

I mean, I JUST said this same thing to someone less than 24 hours ago in another thread. Someone didn't like a map (the RE one in fact) and said "please change it". I'm getting tired of pointing out that there are more than THIRTY maps in this game and that they shouldn't all have the same style or cater to what a specific group of people may happen to prefer. There are maps in this game that I hate, but I live with it because this game wasn't designed just for me. Other people like those maps. I can understand hashing out things like what makes a killer cheap or a survivor perk overpowered or whatever, but these calls of "I don't like that map" (which is almost always guaranteed to be Haddonfield or any of the indoor maps, all of which I and many others love) so get rid of it" are annoying.

My god I feel so bad for you. I don't know about you, but at 3 times in a row I would've said ######### it and burned a map offering at that point.

So what if Haddonfield is harder for killers than most? Shelter Woods is terrible for survivors because there’s no good places to hide or line of sight blockers. Midwich is bad for survivors because exits are fixed and too easy to patrol. Variety is the spice of life.

They reworked springfield and it has more license issues than halloween. just sayin. its a priority issue. whats easy, imo.

True. I hate when my teammates send me here because it really isn't fun to run. Like at all.

Hate it more when I'm sent there as killer, of course. :)

I still like it, although as Oni ive been rinsed the last 3 times I played it. As a survivor its fun, gives you a bit more of a chance to be bold. Ive seen killers do really well on so it depends on how good the survivors are on it

On the contrary, even if the killer has a totally bad match, if he is even halfway skilled he is virtually guaranteed one death hook on Midwich just by the way the gates are situated. No other map I can think of does that for the killer with any kind of regularity.

Except survivors often can’t tell which floor the killer is currently on until its too late. More often than not in matches I’m dealing with red rank killers and none of them seem to have much problem navigating that map no matter who they’ve chosen to play. They can see where the gens are located and often it can take a survivor a few minutes to even find one. Maybe the layout is a little frustrating on both sides, but the killer can still get upstairs from 3 of the 4 corners and quickly get downstairs from 2 other points. It’s definitely a killer advantage map. Ultimately it doesn’t even matter if the gens get fixed if the killer can adequately defend the gates, which he can with ease.

It used to be much worse, back in the day houses used to have at least 2x as many windows open, on top of all of the fence windows small fence and tall fence didn't have openings on both sides meaning if you just keep taking the fast vault angle you can waste a lot of time on a structure that spawns randomly and everywhere, throw in old balanced landing into the mix and you had infinites galore on that map, and while they are still strong now, there are many changes that make it more palatable and beatable since more killer powers can manage on those maps

Honestly I find the map even dull as survivor all you do is abuse good window spots to win lol

Haddonfield has huge dead zones in the middle and edges of the map often times. There are times I really hate being brought there but the only two areas that I languish is the main building and the 'house of pain.' House of Pain because some of the windows are not blocked like in other iterations that make it an infinite against 110 killers.

It's crazy my game always seems to crash in the loading screen when I get a Haddonfield offering

To be honest map offerings, in general, should be reworked. To be sure that you know what map you're going gives an extreme advantage to whatever side has burned the offering. Imo BHVR should change it so MO reduces the chances of being sent to a specific realm instead of just letting you choose were you're going to play.

Other than that, yeah Haddonfield really needs a rework. It's so annoying that I just alt+f4 the game whenever I see that the survivor team has burned that offering.

I don't do that because I don't want the penalty. To be fair, I don't even get upset anymore. I just play through it. It's such a horrible map!
