Where can you buy a PS5?
Yes, this is a DBD question, as I only want one to play DBD.
My PS4 stopped working today, and it's not able to be fixed. Which sucks, obviously.
Anyways, I can't stop playing this game, and that means I have two options:
1.) Get a PC
2.) Get another PlayStation.
I'd rather not get a PC, as I don't remember my Steam info, and I don't want to start over.
So my only option is to get a PlayStation.
Since I'm going to be getting a PlayStation, I might as well get an upgrade.
But I can't find one ANYWHERE.
So, do you guys know any sites that aren't sold out?

You aren't going to find a PS5 easily because of the shortage. Doesn't matter which official vendor you check.
If you're desperate to find one, you can keep your eyes peeled for a re-stock at one of the official vendors. There are independent people on Twitter who will give you a heads up about a potential PS5 drop (beware, their info is not always correct). And sometimes the companies themselves will tell you about a drop as well. In other words, check news articles and Twitter for info about PS5 drops.
I also recommend setting up an account (with payment info) at the various seller websites. That way, when a drop does happen, you'll be able to complete the payment transaction much faster. Keep in mind, even if you're right on time for a drop, there's no guarantee that you'll get a PS5. They sell out insanely quick, plus the websites are usually slow or unresponsive (because of heavy traffic).

I can't really give country-specific stores like GAME or Argos (for me) because I don't know where you are in the world, so all I can really say is keep an eye on international retailers like Amazon or cave and spend 3x as much for a scalper on ebay

I'm in the US, Michigan, to be specific.

Thank you. I'm most likely going to wait a month or so, and if I can't find one by then I'll just get another PS4.

I have no clue on many US retailers so I guess Walmart? GameStop? Those are the two that spring to mind immidiately because I doubt Home Depot will have them lol

I'd wait until you can buy a PS5. If you're buying a console, then you might as well upgrade.
Also, check sellers like Amazon, Walmart, Target, and Best Buy. They usually have decent stock. And don't forget Sony!
Lastly, please don't buy from scalpers, and be careful not to buy from a fraudulent seller.
I wish you luck.

There are a few Twitter accounts that you can follow that will give you an early heads up (Google will find them easily) but you will probably still find you need a lot of luck and a lot of F5 presses to get one.
I would avoid PS4 Pro if you can. The fan noise can be unbearable and if you are unlucky, you might get one of those that power themselves off at the loading screen. Frame rates are only going to get lower in the future too.
If I put my PS5 screen next to my PC screen , the PS5 looks MUCH better. The PC version is too blurry (for me) on Ultra settings and unless you have a particularly good PC, you might get those frame-rate drops that previous-gen console players used to complain about (and maybe still do, I don't know). The 4K display on PS5 gives a really clear and detailed view of things happening much further into the distance than you will be used to which really help play killer (you can see people crouched behind windows from a ridiculous distance) and you shouldn't see any frame drops any more. Obviously the Microsoft console will be just as good or better but suffers from the same problem of not carrying over your progress.

Keep checking on Sony Direct. That's where I got mine. I was lucky to find it before Thanksgiving. I'd say PS5 is probably a better bet than PS4 anyway, because it runs SO much better on PS5 than PS4. The difference is night and day. Good luck!

The issue with that is the fact that I want to be able to play over the summer. I have quite literally nothing to do without dbd.
Even now. The forums are the most entertaining thing I can do until I can play dbd again.
Thanks though:)

Spam Dhar Mann asking for one🤣🤣

If you planning on buying it in a store your best bet might be Meijer since they are pretty much the only store that sells ps5 instore when they have it available which takes a lonnnnnng time. So buying online would be my recommendation and I would tell you to follow twitter people who notify on restocks.

I've actually played on a PS5 once and it didn't run that much better than the PS4 I had, but apparently that one ran way better than other ps4s, according to people on here.

This gives when the last restocks were, how quickly they sold out, and guy to follow on Twitter when restocks happen at different US vendors like Best Buy, Walmart, Target, etc. Good luck.

I can also vouch for Sony Direct, as both my friend and I got one within 2 days of trying (when they were dropping like hotcakes). I gave him my money since I wasn't home all day like he was and he managed to get in twice.
All you need is some sort of notification, whether that be from certain Twitter accounts, refresh bots or whatever telling you they're dropping. Then just hop onto the website (make sure your payment info is already saved) and you'll get put onto a wait-list for when it's your turn to buy it. Now I'm not 100% sure about this but I believe the website picks people at random rather than who got there first to partially solve the bot issue.
Apart from that though, I will say that PS5 DBD performance is 100x better than PS4 with it basically being night and day. There are still a few minor freezes every now and then though.
I hope you can upgrade so you can see for yourself! Good luck :p
Edit: Oh yeah, I wanted to mention that in my honest opinion, next-gen consoles are a whole lot easier to get than building yourself/ordering yourself a new PC. Mainly because the GPU demand is insane right now and I've been trying to build my PC for almost half a year now because of it. I'd say you made the right choice.

I've played on PS5 before, and yeah it's amazing.
And also even though I used to be on PC, I know nothing about them 😂
I got my stepdad to set it up and get DBD, and I just played, so idk what GPU is.
Also, thank you. This'll likely work

No problem man, I have faith in you :D
And if you wanted to know, a GPU stands for 'Graphics Processing Unit' and basically determines how good it can run graphics in games (whether that be low or ultra high). Without it, you more than likely couldn't play anything.

Oh, ok. So like an Nvidia card?
By the way, if you turn your quality to low in game you can see things a lot better.
0 -
Yeah, pretty much.
And I actively try to avoid playing on low since I personally think it creates an unfair advantage (for both yourself and your opponent) even if it's not against the rules; same goes with stretched res, etc.

Ah, I see
I actually miss PC for stretched res. I would use it for Shadowborn. Idk if it makes me a scumbag or not, but I just did it for build variety on Nurse

I mean hey, to each their own. I used to use macros for flashlights but realized how much of an *sshole I was being so I eventually stopped lol
