Should the Undying nerf be reverted?

I don't, but it still gives too much pressure.

Sorry fremd, but I got to disagree.
In conclusion, even if they buff solo queue, let's just forget that thing ever existed please, let's not even talk about it

No..? No perk in the game asides from Ruin gives free regression and forces survivors onto side objectives to remove it from the game. Undying keeps it up until it hits the 3v1 and the Tinkerer is just added salt to the wound.
You couldn't get the same results with Corrupt/Pop, Surge/Surveillance, etc.

If we have actual decent solo buffs but totems remain as awful as they are now then, in typical bhvr fashion, we can have it back as a bandaid fix.
If they actually sort totem spawns out then it should stay in the past.

You could get better results with: Pop + Oppression, Oppression + Lullaby (+ Pop optional), Surge + Mindbreaker, Distressing + Agitation + Starstruck.
Why? Because Ruin does nothing when survivors just hold M1.
1 -
Solos don't just hold M1 though, do they?

I do

As much as I hated old ruin/undying I would revert it back to it's original for a few reasons.
- Totem spawns are bad
- Small game and detectives hunch.
- Counterforce is gonna be much easier to track and destroy hex perks faster.
Survivors want to do more than just gens so why not.
2 -
Then you're in the severe minority.
1 -
Guess I am in the severe minority too. A true Quentin / Kate player does gens.
2 -
a kate player that does gens?
this isn't a minority this is a miracle.
2 -
"Survivors want to do more than just gens so why not."
Sad excuse for slowing down Survivors. Sure, Survivors want to do different things than Gens. But Totems are not different, they are Gens without Skill Checks, just more M1-holding. Wuhu.
@Topic:
This change should never be reverted. At least now Undying is used with other Hexes and not just Ruin. And you dont have to cleanse Ruin a few times.

Well, to be honest I am always the gen jockey, no matter the character I am playing. It just happens that I play Quentin and am currently trying to max out Kate.
And most Kate mains I've met actually do gens, other characters are worse.

dealing with Ruin Undyin as solo was just an unfun rng mess, meanwhile the top tier SWF (the thing that would be used often to defend the combo) were barely affected, and would ether get rid of it quickly or just finish gens without cleansing ruin depending on how the killer played.

no. That is all I have to say.
0 -
No. It should not be reverted. It was way too strong in its original form (especially on high mobility killers) and just made for a very unfun and unfair game. Plus the current Undying is still strong.
0 -
Nope, it was simply too strong.
I do wish they had kept the dull totem effect in some form though. It's a shame they're back to being completely ignored again.
0 -
Absolutely not.
0 -
Yeah, it should in my opinion.
Through my own personal experience, I can't comprehend how Ruin+Undying could ever be considered "broken". Playing as killer, the totems would still get cleansed fairly early into the match. Playing as survivor, the totems would still get cleansed fairly early into the match. It was good, don't get me wrong, but nowhere near overpowered.
Plus, now that we're getting Counterforce as well as Small Game being buffed, I agree with Space Coconut that if Undying was never nerfed, we could have gotten a full on meta-shift in this game.

Undying nerf?!
Devour Hope would like to have a word with you

A meta shift? So killers just using ruin/undying every game and every survivor (that isn't swf because obviously) just subbing out IW for small game?
That's literally all it would have been. At least the one or two other usable hex perks now function with Undying, which is nice. And allows more build variety than old Undying did.
Personally I felt that undying was carrying very bad killers. Though that sentiment applys to a lot of survivor perks too so w/e.
I found going up against R/U every game was incredibly dull and made me have to play the same way every game as a solo player. It was bad enough solo that it drove me away completely and back to killer, as a bad team going down once before ruin was gone or at least undying was almost universally a loss.
I don't really get bothered by survivors running the same builds as killer, but as survivor the same build every game (ruin/undying/Tinkerer or sloppy/BBQ) got incredibly dull incredibly quickly.

I don't necessarily agree with that. Some totem spawn are indeed stupid, those on top of hill or in the middle of the corn fore xample.
But survivors already have to go out of their way to look for the spicific lit totems and waste a bunch of time for that. Totem spawns shouldn't be extremely hidden anyway, just not in plain sight. Also, taking a hex is already a bet. Killers know they might eventually be destroyed. And since hexes are (generally) really strong perks, I really don't see why people seem to assume they're also supposed to be so well hidden they should stay up all game

Not a chance, the whole combination was ridiculously strong on high mobility killers. The fact that it gave aura reading on lit totems meant that unless you were running distortion it was even harder to deal with. For soloq which already suffers a lack of coordination, against good players you'd be lucky to get 4 gens done. Bar a few exceptions, the only people who want it back are those who relied on it to carry them. Genuinely good killers never needed it to 4k, it just made the job boringly easy.

No. Old Undying was ridiculously strong.
0 -
Considering the new anti-totem perk coming, yes a revert is not outlandish.
0 -
Reverted but maybe changed a bit. What if it instead only restores a hex 1/2/3 times until its gone, and remove any aura vision from it.
0 -
No. It made playing killer boring because every game was a murder stomp. New Undying is fun because it actually makes perks like Lullaby, Third Seal, and Devour actually work
0 -
I'm glad the meta shifted for a few months, but god no, don't even bring back version 1 Undying. I don't want my solo queue team and I needing to do 5 Ruins.

Should old undying come back? No
Should undying be buffed anyways: Probably as its a barely more reliable totem defence then haunted grounds without the actual main effect of haunted grounds(global exposed for up to 60 seconds).
