Anyone know how to see spirits animation reset?
With all the stuff going around this "counterplay" is thrown around as spirits primary counterplay to the standstill mindgame. (Even though its probably 100% a bug). Xeno from oracle is apparently made a video on doing it.
Seeing Anything? Because i'm just seeing a normal spirit animation (if you consider her normal animation anything normal lol). Also is this even considered fair counterplay? If a characters main counterplay is using a glitch that completely tells you when their using it when the characters design is your not supposed to know?
Edit:Had to look at it for forever but i kinda see it now i think. Ill have to try it in customs to see if im seeing it right.

Its not a glitch and its when she raises her arms up fully. Its more sudden than her other animations and much more abrubt

It happens maybe 1 in 100 times she uses her power, it isn't reliable at all

Just make sure your res is stretched to see it properly because it's a nightmare on native 🥰

Yeah i saw the stretched and gagged a bit but i was intrigued to see if this counterplay held any weight.

The most effective way to know if Spirit start to phase or not is to see her shard gets brightening.
Because the shard is so small to see from distance, this is why many survivors vault toward her to have a closer look.

Her animation has a cycle. It'a fairly smooth. Whenever she phases, the animations breaks the cycle and abruptly resets to the start with her head up and her arms curled up. It's hard to tell at first but easy to see once you know what to look for. Takes some practice in a custom lobby.

I'm going to be honest, that doesn't mean shite. It's the same as her glowing shards, the circumstances in which you can detect the slightest but if difference are so specific they may as well not exist.
Also, competitive players still vault directly into Spirits because they can't see whatever it is we're supposed to be looking for and, if that's not enough, she can just activate her power and stand there similarly to what I did during the breathing bug.

I play on console (therefore native) and know how to spot it every time. She makes a sudden movement which may be confused with passive phasing, but it is distinctive in that she straightens out and it is much more of a sudden/unnatural movement. This implies that her phase charge has reached 100%. I'm not trying to say this is a counter, as all it does is let you know when she began phasing. I'm simply saying that this is at least some form of knowledge against her, which I know is one of her significant issues.
I should also mention Xeno is a very confident player, meaning he somewhat exaggerates his points in countering spirit. There are things you can do, but if the spirit plays properly she will still get the hit unless there is a god window/pallet.

Who cares if she makes a subtle animation when phasing if she even does. You basically have to over analyze her which is going to make you not focus on the game and get hit anyway so it's useless information whether it be true or not. You can't hyperfocus on this trivial detail while in a chase.

It has a little benefit. I won't fall for the stand still at pallet mindgame if im staring right at her. If i see the reset i start walking away. But yeah the other like 90% of situations it doesnt do much.

Question: does the animation reset as soon as she presses M2 or when the charging bar is full and she actually starts phasing?
Also a while back you linked this:
Only on the first slow mo she goes back to the animation you're talking about (and you show in a tweet of yours as well), and taht seems to be just because her last animation was indeed that position you mention. On all other slowmos, it's just looks like as if the last animation she was doing resets and starts over, but she doesn't go back to the straight up positions with curled arms. What am I missing?

This animation occurs when she is done charging her power and is free to move about in phase.

It happens once it's fully charged. Think of it as a rewind of her animation. Her idle animation progresses from one position to the next in a timed manner. When the phase is fully charged, it causes an abrupt rewind to the beginning of the current or previous position instead of progressing to the next one in the cycle.

Ok, thanks, i assumed it meant reset to the very beginning of the animation cycle, not the last one she did

anyway there's many counter to spirit:
1. when spirit run and try to attack you just stand still and let her down you, maybe they will think you're mindgaming her.
2. when the spirit run stridor just suicide on the hook and go on
3. keep asking dev to make it balanced killer
