Is it okay to play at 30 fps on PC?

I used to be able to run this game at a near perfect 60 on high months ago, but now I cannot play it (without my PC changing hardware at all) on lowest settings without massive lag spikes that make it unplayable. Trust me, I've tried for weeks and tried nearly everything.

However, when I cap at 30, I never have lag issues and it is ALWAYS consistent.

Now, for me, playing at a consistent, lower framerate is much better than a higher, inconsistent one.

However, my question is: is this viable? I don't think FPS matters much in this game but I wanna make sure.

I've already tried skill checks at 30 fps and they don't feel that different.

I play at 30 FPS by default and it's fine. Skillchecks take a little bit of time to get used to, especially with great skillchecks (you have to try to click a tad earlier).

Playable, yes. Viable, no. Killers, Nurse in particular, are going to be harder if not downright unplayable if your game stutters. If you're playing survivor though, I'd say its mostly negligible. Sticking to M1 killers that don't have many lag inducing moves like Trapper, Freddy, Wraith, etc. is something you're going to have to do if you want for a playable experience.

well the thing is that the game doesn't stutter at 30 fps, but at 60 fps it will have massive lag spikes that take it down to like 25 fps and break my audio, nearly freezing the game that happen every like 20 seconds.
