Naming & Shaming
Hey,
Inb4 this gets closed I'd like to ask why is the "Naming & Shaming" rule so strict?
I mean I get the concept to avoid people giving out death threats or other unreasonable offences, but then just give perma bans to such people, not whole threads. If forum mods are afraid of such people making multiple accounts, make some more advanced verification for registering or anything really.
Why posts mentioning some streamer doing something bad get blocked almost right away? Shouldn't we as community help other players avoid badly behaving streamers to not get influenced?
"Assuming" that some thread will turn into hostile shitshow instead of seeing if maybe there will be civilised conversation going on is quite oppressive censorship.
Bless.

You have a very strange notion of censorship. Let me explain something to you clearly and completely. You can go create your own Forum, the software is easily available and setting one up is easy. For you to be censored you would be given no option to speak your mind. That isn't the case here. Politicians banned from the big social media giants aren't being censored either, because they can start a blog, put up their own social media, take out a page in the paper, pay for a commercial, and so on.
Forums are "private clubs" which have rules. You agreed to those rules when you created your account here. In effect, YOU accepted that there are certain subjects and ways of conducting yourself that are unacceptable. You are complicit. The joy of private clubs is you can leave them at any time. Go start your own club. Scream about whatever subject you want to your hearts content. Nobody will even blink. Who knows if anyone will even show up to listen.
You completely have your freedom of speech. Go us it. It is unreasonable, and silly to expect SOMEONE ELSE to subsidize and pay for your platform. It is silly to expect them to waive the rules for you or apply them more to some people and less to others. So, let me repeat to the sake of redundancy, you aren't being censored; you are being held to the agreement that you signed on to when you joined this Forum.

Because people don't understand that its best to let these things play out so everyone has a chance to vent and no particular community gets officially victimised.
Basically, it's the mods jobs to keep the peace. The quickest and easiest way to do that is by censoring volitile topics before they get out of hand, which is what's expected of them by the ones in charge, however in doing that people don't have a chance to release their feelings and it pushes them further into their own "camps" because they feel targeted. A lot of people like to use the argument that letting people fight is bad, but to an extent that isn't true because people need to release feelings instead of getting forcibly stoppered in "public" and only being able to explode in private, where their ideas and self-narrative are reinforced by like-minded and often equally deluded people instead of dealt with properly.
Of course, there's just not enough mods to allow for that sort of thread monitoring, meaning that arguments often get out of hand and go from healthy fighting to unhealthy fighting insanely quickly, so the truly volitile topics just get deleted.

We know how these usually end from experience and we end up cleaning those kind of threads up, a lot. The forum is very clear on the stance of naming and shaming, whether that be about individuals or content creators - if a post highlights anything negatively and someone's name is shown, there is the chance people will go after them. Otherwise people can post something they perceive as bad (they think xyz has broken rules, etc.) from an individual when it isn't and it can affect the person mentioned. It has happened before and it still does happen. That is why we close these kind of threads.
The Forum is not the right place to discuss drama between content creators or what not, there are other places you can utilize for this but the official platforms of DBD. If you have anything you want to report in regards of FW, then you can contact support for this, but not post it on the forums.
Discussing dramas, whether that be between well known users from the community or content creator, has no place here.
