"Lost connection" twice in a row after mmr update with weird bugs (perfect wifi)

Was playing survivor with a friend and after 10-15 minutes we both got disconnected (playing in completely separate places) and i was stuck on the main menu screen (picture below)
Restarted the game and got the MMR patch notes notif, so i assume everyone else in the match got dced as well.
Played killer and 10 mins into the game, same thing happened only there was no buggy screen like the one above. Both of the times i closed DBD, the game wouldn't stop 'running' on steam and had to restart my laptop twice as i couldn't find the DBD background process on task manager.
My connection is perfect and was able to play the game smoothly before i dced. Not sure if everyone in the two matches also dced but me and my friend did on the 1st game
