MMR vs Otzdarva

I’ve good against Otz at red ranks on solo queue, and that was pretty brutal. I can’t imagine going against him as a green rank, Jesus

The simplest way to explain how MMR works is that it's like trying to guess a number between 1 and 1000 while only knowing if it's higher or lower than your guess. We all know how this goes: you start by guessing 500, then they tell you higher/lower so you guess 750/250, and so on.
You're focusing on Otzdarva's skill (whatever that is) while completely ignoring the 4 survivors whose skill may not have been determined yet. The MMR does need some restrictions on these guesses, but this does not demonstrate a failure with the MMR per se.

What the ######### I'm agreeing with Sluzzy?
Sluzzy's right this time, I'm astounded.

You'd think they would've figured out how to implement a guess restriction because the two other tests have had similar issues

No, but matching them with the exteme other end is ridiculous.

You're lucky. Try being a lower rak killer getting matched with the nost awfully agregious red ranks every game. I've resorted to camping while the game ends in 3 minutes. Quite satisfying

I mean. In order for mmr to work they have to start everyone the same, and work themselves up. Thats pretty basic.

Everybody talking about how they get beginner survivors.
Me when MMR is on: 80% Sweaty SFW trying super hard against me being a casual killer with fun builds like T1 Myers to spook people, Mad Grit PPhead to have fun with the broken attack animation, etc... The last 20% are still mostly Rank 1 survivors... just not in a SWF.
Also of course most of the SWF were toxic pricks bragging about their victory and doing their best to bully me. I don't care that much about it but when it's most games it becomes tiring after a while. So yeah I wish I knew the MMR was back the same as months ago. I would not have played at all. And I'll probably stop playing DbD completely the day it's permanently implemented if they don't improve it.
I wish I could have beginners against me to at least spook them xD I'm someone playing for fun with silly builds and stuff, not tryharding.

Sluzzy Please. it's just a game, not a compilation what killers should get nerfed.

I'd rather have a game that tests my skill then one where I can zone out listening to a twitch stream and still easily 4K.
2 -
Have those games 10 times on the dot and see if you feel the same.
Besides. Camping takes concentration nowadays. Those pesky survivors are of the opinion I'm not entitled to my kill. How very rude of them.

Considering 19/20 games right now are one sided stomps, with or without MMR I'd welcome it.
1 -
But I'm the one on the other side of the stomping lol.

I hear you mate.

That was a very unneccersary aggressive response lol.

I'm seeing WAY too any disconnects. At least five or six per day. It's not even against especially sweaty or even tricky killers. Characters are bailing on their first hook. It's rapidly becoming tiresome.
You know something is up when, after a match, the killer (who won) and one of the defeated survivors (myself) can spend a good three minutes chatting about how lame the disconnecting issue is.

This might be because we're playing against rainbow ranks now. You see a ton of chronic quitters in grey and yellow ranks - grey ranks because they don't know they shouldn't be struggling off hook, yellow because that's the rank where players who suicide or DC most games end up in. When I was organically in yellow ranks, somebody would kill themselves basically every match. (Or be afk.) Took a while to crawl out of that pit because of it.

You're probably right.

Agree. I was just watching ZubatLEL and he continuously got matched either with absolutely noob teammates who'd go down in 5 seconds, or the killer would get 2 hooks in entire match. It's like a roulette. So he said eventually that he doesn't feel like playing until MMR is off and ended his stream.

That's fair tbh. I'm a few games in on Doc and the fluctuation in skill each match isn't very fun. Either its braindead easy and boring or I get a 4 man with a map offering for some map no one in their right mind thinks is fair and fun.
I say a lot that I prefer facing a good team to a bad team, but there's a difference between a good team with maybe 2-3 swf players and a good random and a 4 man, all meta build toolbox squad almost every other game.
That's where the needle tips from "relatively well balanced match" to "ok now this is just stupid".
I do think that if they go through with this MMR it may kill the game. There's already not enough killers during peak hours and too many survivors. What's their goal here?

I'm actually surprised player count didn't go down since the start of the test. Maybe matchmaking works better for causal players? Or maybe people don't mind "stomp or be stomped"? I don't know. I can't explain this.

I think they're testing to see how much of a difference something is to calculate the next match better. If the value is too high, a newer player might go against purples instead of green. That would explain the gaps between matches.

lol his face in all of the pics tho...

MMR works for some people and doesn't work for others. it didn't work for me. all my killers games were... beyond easy and half of my survivor games were new killers, the other half were teammates going into lockers after winning a lot. Guess otz got the same side as me.

The mmr is good it's the way we're judged hooks vs kills hooks are the standard not kills if he's not 9 hooking it treats him like a noob I'd bet.

Technically you still get information from a failed experiment.

What?! It's rare when anyone 12 hooks in Rank 1 games. That's just not feasible. High ranks know how to prioritize targets.
