Stop using Monitor & Abuse on Trickster LOL it doesn't work
Today I recorded a video where I can show you all how Monitor, Tinkerer and many other perks regarding the Terror radius are useless on Trickster.
The reason is: he does have a lullaby, like Huntress
This lullaby can't be affected by any perk or addon, and here in this video I can show you with some detail how it works:
I did my own calculations and this lullabhy seem to be working between the 16m-32 m, from 0m-15m there is no lullaby, but Monitor will only reduce the radius from 24m-16m.
I also take this chance to ask the devs: why is this lullaby even a thing?

It’s probably a thing because deathslinger’s pseudo stealth wasn’t very well liked

thank you kind person, I'm glad <3

actual reason why I made this video is because I saw him using it

I was wondering why his terror radius was so quiet

almost convinced they were drunk when making trickster. It doesn't even sound like lullaby. it looks like custom TR that is bugged with undetectable status effect and terror radius modifying perks. Guess we'll find out on patch 5.0 where they state to "fix" the problem.

On the dbd wiki hes listed as a killer with a lullaby but thats obviously not offical so idrk.

I've tried to tell people this, and I usually get the response of "Oh, well it's quiet so most Survivors don't hear it."
And it's like... no. It is literally just the first layer of his Terror Radius without a heartbeat. It's a wall of electrical humming and buzzes and weird environmental noise that is VERY distinct from the normal sounds of the game. It is very discernible.
Also, how did you get your HUD's Survivor icons to look like that?

Why he has one but Slinger doesn't is just completely beyond my reasoning.
His range is so short and his speed is so low that he actually needs that 24 meter TR.
2 -
Who even thought of giving Tricky a lullaby but not Slinger

see I feel like its bug because with huntress. if you read her Bio, her terror radius is written as "20". it gives indication that she is outlier for what her true terror radius is. everyone knows it is like lullaby of 40 meters(I think). With trickster, it says its 24 but from that video, its showcase 32. I think freddy is 32 tr/32 lullaby. Lullaby are intentional not modified by TR perks so the fact he is getting modifications says that he was intentionally meant to have 24 TR but maybe in the code, someone miswrote a variable that changes terror radius to lullaby radius by accident.

TBF, Deathslinger cannot land a shot on anyone that's more than 20 meters away, while Kpop Dude can (theoretically) hit and damage people from across the map.
Obviously the reality of those Killers (Deathslinger's super quiet TR + M&A and the fact that Trickster needs to hit 8 knives to do damage) doesn't match that, but on paper it makes a certain kind of sense.

Yeah that's a fair point, I can't argue with that.

Deathslinger can straight up injure or down you out of stealth though. Trickster can't do #########

I wish I could answer that here but it's nothing illegal

I have a Discord if you want to take it there.

So you're saying it's a donut?

I knew that he had a lullaby but I thought it would be something nice to hear, but its just his heartbeat witha little music.

I can affirm it does work because the amount of time i get to survivors on gens with it is crazy
and i'Ve also watched a streamer I played against as trickster and I can 100% tell you I didn't hear any of that lullaby at all and they only heard me when I was like 9 meters from them, and i could only hear my TR as well when I was right in front of them.
And even if this lullaby actually plays, the gen totally hides it, also healing hides it, it's so quiet you can't hear it when something anything else but walking
1 -
the thing is, with Trickster the survivor has ample time to run away

People still run M&A because it does in fact work in spite of the lullaby.
I don't know if the survivors aren't hearing the lullaby, hear the low lullaby and think I'm just running past, or don't respect Trickster enough to not bolt until they hear the actual heart beat... but with M&A on Trickster it is significantly easier to get close to Survivors before they book it.
Should it work? No. Does it? In my experience, yes.
Also if Trickster's Lullaby is in fact a doughnut like the wiki and your testing indicates, then M&A still works because from 32-24 meters the Survivor thinks Trickster is far off. From 24-16 meters they'll think he went elsewhere because they aren't hearing either the Lullaby or the Terror Radius. Then at 16 meters its "OH CRAP THERE HE IS."

That sounds more like the inchoate terror radius than a dedicated lullaby. I don't know if terror radius music is directly tied to the heartbeat, but if it isn't, then the explanation is pretty clear.
To put this to test, you can boot up DBD mobile and see what happens with an M&A Trickster there. Mobile has a visual cue for the heartbeat so you can more accurately distinguish where the 32m and 24m demarcations are.

@Angelicus23 24-32 Lullaby does not exist. It is 32 or 24. The game says its 24 but your video states 32. Lullaby not modified by undetectable/oblivious nor TR perks. wiki going need to update it after they fix it in nemesis 5.0.0 patch on 15th next Tuesday. its really buggy

I don't understand why Trickster needs a lullaby. Huntress is dangerous because she can snipe you from a long distance, so you need to be wary (and having played against glitched Huntresses that had no lullaby - it's a terrifying experience.) Deathslinger operates off a similar principle, but he can't snipe you outside his terror radius without perks, which is why he lacks a lullaby. But I can understand arguments that want to give him one. Trickster, though - he doesn't have the benefit of sniping. He can't sneakily injure or down you. He'll get 1/4th of a health state on you max before you spook away from where you were and start running. Because of the way laceration works, 1/4 of a health state would only actually hurt you if you had just escaped a chase with him - and if you were just in a chase with him, you are alert and should not be susceptible to being surprised from a distance. A warning element is not necessary because he does not have the power to damage survivors from a distance before they notice him.

I'm the one who helped test the existence of the lullaby for the wiki. The lullaby is bugged*, but it's there, in a ring around the Trickster, starting at 32 meters and ending at 24 meters. I heard it with my own ears.
*Lullabies aren't supposed to be in rings.

It's just a bugged Terror Radius and not a lullaby.
In the new patch notes it also says that it got fixed. That his Terror Radius doesn't go beyond his heartbeat radius anymore.
I don't know where the wiki got that lullaby from.
The distant TR is heard between 32-24 metres. From 24 to 16 metres you hear the "approach" part. As soon as you hear heartbeat the second part of his TR music plays.

The wiki got the "lullaby" from the fact that even when he's Undetectable, that ring still plays. That's a lullaby. It's definitely bugged, because it's in a ring*, but that's how it works. If it behaves exactly like a lullaby, then it's a lullaby.
*The Huntress' lullaby was temporarily a ring (which was a bug), but no other lullabies since have worked like that, which is why I think it's bugged.

Then please explain the bugfix which will come out. It even says it fixes an issue where the Terror Radius melody doesn't play at the appropriate time as the heartbeat radius.
Also, the apparent lullaby sounds exactly as the distant Terror Radius, which plays between 32 and 24 metres or in Tricksters place should play between 24 and 16 metres.

I can't explain it. What I can tell you is that he has a ring around him that behaves exactly like a lullaby.
0 -
Maybe the ring is just a part of his TR which got bugged out somehow and it behaves as it's own "lullaby". But well, we'll see when the fix happens if he still has this lullaby or if it was just a bugged part of his Terror Radius, because this distant sound really sounds like the 1st phase of his Terror Radius music.

You can't tell me what to do.

Posting here again to update you all: Trickster's lullaby was made bigger with the Resident Evil patch.
Notice how in the video is extends from 16 to 32 meters. Well, now, it goes from 8 to 40.
######### 40.
Because if there's one thing a 110 Killer with no map traversal and a mediocre chase power needed, it was a bigger-than-average Terror Radius.

Oh i thought that this was a terror radius bug.
