How many of you are Deaf/Hard of Hearing + What do you struggle with?

Bringing this up since I want to better help Deaf/Hard of Hearing gamers. I already have a list of ideas and guides I want to do but I want to go in more deeper than the usual audio guide or learning to loop better, etc.

If you’re disabled, what is your biggest struggle on DBD? (Can be either Killer or Survivor but specify) It can be directional audio or not being able to hear certain frequencies.

You can also add in - what is the one thing that you want DBD to add in to help you play the game better? Any wishes?

An example is: I struggle with directional audio as I legit cannot tell what direction it’s coming from and I don’t really hear grass rustling or corn rustling. Audio is usually all mumbled together.

Thank you! Feedback and information will help me a lot on making videos that will help + I do live sessions on Twitch where I further talk about my ideas and how the brain works and how you can play better as a Killer or Survivor. Much love ❤️

You can post the rest of the answers in the comments ☺️

I'm just hard of hearing & use strider on killers that have loud noises.

Thank you for letting me know! Stridor has never helped me, can't tell the difference but it's interesting that it works for you! What's your hearing loss severity at?

My right ear hears almost nothing. I'm not deaf on it, it's more like when you swim and accidentally get a lot of water in your ears and your hearing is all muffled - but it's constant. So I would hear screams and loud noises on it and would feel vibrations, but it would be deaf to whispers or any other quiet sound.

My left ear, though, hears everything just fine, so for the most part I don't have problems with that. Unless some survivor breathes or moves on my right side - with stereo sounding I would most likely miss it.

It's mild. Plague is probably one of my worst killers as her chanting during the corrupt purge is the only thing I hear for the whole duration.

No hearing issues, but I'd like to see the additions from mobile come to console/PC. There's a visual indicator for the heartbeat.

I have no trouble hearing noises alone, but rather I have trouble picking them apart and locating them. If I have multiple sources of sound, they just muddle together in my head. I also have trouble locating sound, sometimes even confusing left with right.

So I am always kinda impressed when I watch a content creator, and througn the deafening chasemusic, they say "I heard you."

Ingame this makes it extremely hard for me to play killers that rely on sound. For survivor its not so bad, because most killer's breathing or footsteps are louder than anything else around, like Spirit, Clown, Nurse, Oni, etc.

Mild to moderate auditory processing disorder I think they call it. Diagnosed early 20s. I can hear the sound of a pin drop in a quiet room, but can't understand people speaking to me in a room with background noise. Sometimes accents are also difficult for me to understand which makes me frustrated, embarrassed, and feel bad about constantly asking them to repeat themselves. My condition is actually an issue with the auditory processing part of the brain. My ears are fine. My mom said I had scarlet fever as a baby. I do sometimes struggle with hearing subtle parts or individual instruments in music. Background noise affects me when I watch TV too. I turn subtitles or captions on when alone, but the rest of my family hates dealing with them being on screen and turn them off. So yes this does affect my game play when playing games about hunting or stealth roles etc.
