Undying bug?

Is Undying broken for survivors? Or was it somehow reworked without saying? I am pretty sure that if survivor touched a dull totem they got a pop up saying Hex: Undying, but not anymore.
Is it intentional or is it a bug?

When you get within 4 meters of a dull totem the Hex is revealed to you, not when you start cleansing it.
