How would people respond?
If killers had no terror radius?
If there were no aura reading perks for either side?
If survivors left no scratch marks?
No hatch, and only one gate?
You can only use your eyes and ears to get through the trials. Would that add to the horror aspect of the game?
Would it be scarier? Or extraordinarily frustrating?

Everything would be possible besides the gate one. There HAVE to be atleast 2 gates, otherwise the survivors cant win if the killer finds it.

If that were the case, people would start being more careful and stealthy. Perhaps cocky players will either follow the playstyle for once or just quit the game.
Perhaps the amount of Claudette players will increase. Gate camping will exist and it would feel more realistic in the act of fear of being caught.
If you were in a chase you have to rely on your ears for footsteps and eyes for small little details such as a shimmer or a weapon being swung.
So in conclusion, the game would be actually scary from early game to mid game but by endgame, it would probably be frustrating as anything could happen by then.

Should be a custom game exclusive IMO.

Like every suggestion that people have made ever about this game: would be cool and scary for a bit, then turn to immense frustration. It would also become very unfun basically from the start because a lot of the more interesting mechanics in the game, and what makes it pretty fun to play, are tied to all the mechanics you'd want removed.

You're right, you're right. So no hatch then. The reason I bring this up, is because all these perks basically make everyone supernatural LOL. Killers already have powers and run faster than survivors, so they have the advantage. I'm curious as to what would give the game more of a "true horror" feel.

If they fix the sound bugs which are still here, i would love a mode like that.

Great input so far, thank you. Keep it coming!

Can you elaborate on the more interesting mechanics?

Aura reading perks make up a lot of the more fun and useful perks that people like running. Nurse's calling, I'm all ears, object, BBQ, compound 21 on Blight, all-seeing Wraith etc. Having a lot of those suddenly not useable limits variety.
Well, maybe "interesting" wasn't the right word, but they're fundamental mechanics that make up the core gameplay loop of DbD that most people agree is fun. As survivor and killer you're given a decent amount of information that intuitively guides you to play the game and makes it fun by not giving you too much info, but also not stripping away info that would make the gameplay less smooth and flowing.
Now I have NO idea if that makes sense but I guess a TL;DR of what I'm trying to say is: DbD feels 'good' to play and removing any of the current core mechanics or hiding them would disrupt the way the game is currently played.
There is always the idea of a separate "Hardcore" gamemode and a lot of your suggestions could work for that but I don't think changing the core gamemode would be the best idea.

It'd definitely be scarier at first but would turn into frustration almost instantaneously because of how DBD was designed.
I personally think new gamemodes would be amazing for this game though. With that being said, I think yours fits perfectly. But if I were to create my own..
Hide & Seek: Survivors have 3 minutes to hide in a huge map before the killer is released. If the killer doesn't find them all in time, they lose. The survivors are exposed & only have 1 life so once they're found, it's over.

idk how do you respond when you come across somebody using the perks that do one of those things?

I joined the game since Feb 2019. I heard that the game supposed to be hide & seek.
It can be fun for survivors (hiding from killer is still a fun thing to do now). But on killer PoV, imaging the scenario where 2 survivors with 3 Gen left and both of them hide extremely hard to wait for other to die so one can get hatch. You may walk around the map for 40min without anything to do.

Hardcore mode. Often proposed (even by myself).
Always rejected because of the small playerbase. Maybe now with the huge amount of new players, its time to think about it.

No. Just no. All of these would be frustrating to the point where most people would quit.
The only thing this would do is kill dbd faster.

Gate thing cant happen because killer can just bodyblock gate and game would last forever.

Everyone becomes immersed as all hell, games take 60 minutes each bevause nobody does generators, everything becomes a boring stalemate, not fun in the slightest.

It would take the game back to a more horror-specific feel.

That's the move. A separate game mode. I fully support it.

No scratch marks would be insane, survivors with iron will and free lucky break? No thank you.
