Shadowborn should be a default option or perk
IMO, shadowborn should be a default perk for killer, or at least the user should be able to adjust FOV from settings. Agree or disagree?

There should 100% be fov slider in the settings. Also they better add advanced video setting while they are at it.

But why do I have to use a perk to increase FOV? That's stupid.

Fov is apart of game balance this isn't warzone

Because it's part of the games balance.

"It gives an advantage" Yeah no, such a small advantage to the point where it doesn't even make sense.
FOV is an accessibility option that most games have. On the other hand, DBD has it locked behind a perk.
I enjoy playing games with higher FOV because I'm used to it, I don't care about the advantage it gives, I care about my enjoyment of the game. Saying it gives an advantage is an invalid argument. Why should DBD be the only game without an FOV slider?

FOV gives a disadvantage. It is one of the ONLY disadvantages killers have. If it's too much for you, bring shadow. If you want more than that, too bad.

Then use Shadowborn...
FOV is low for a reason, as much as I love playing with 90 horizontal FoV I do understand the intended limitation from the game balance standpoint.
I bet those who use stretched res (4:3) use it because they are used to it and they clearly don't do it just to gain any advantage.

I dont agree +15o FoV should be a basekit, in the end I can ask Devs why they dont give me 25o FoV.
I dont agree FoV slider in Options because everyone would pick the largest FoV, makes the option pointless.
I agree that ShadowBorne should be buffed up. May be to 20o + Survivor glowing like Freddy's gameplay, make survivors easier to be seen.

I use Shadowborn.
And also, why should I need a perk slot in order to unlock higher FOV? As I said, I want an FOV slider so the people who enjoy the 90 FOV can keep enjoying it. I play first person games with high FOV.
Literally most well-balanced first person games have an FOV slider. The advantage argument doesn't make sense in this case. "It helps you see survivors better" who cares? I assure you no one who uses high FOV cares about the advantage, they care about their enjoyment of the game.

There is no reason not to have an FOV slider.
Low FOV can cause some players to get motion sick or have headaches.
It is literally an accessibility setting.

I would advise to take a step back, get 5 deep breaths and read again what I said.
FoV is limited for a reason. It limits your peripheral vision to allow certain plays from a survivor, such as hiding in a corner of your vision.
Is it that hard to understand?
You are literally arguing as if your FoV was set to 35 and you are not seeing any other arguments around you besides your heavily focused point of view.
Because you are using Shadowborn you are trading higher peripheral vision for a perk slot. Vision angles are a huge boon in dbd, hence why it is a perk.

How about we add an FOV slider in the game and see if it makes a difference? I assure you it won't make much of one, and that this whole thing is just an overreaction.
If it happens, that is.
I'm chill btw, I'm just stating my opinion. Did not intend to throw offense at you, so I apologize.

If there was an FoV slider it would only let you lower your field of view. There will never be advanced video settings, which gives an unfair advantage.

But the game is based around the advantages and disadvantages of the killers. If you improve one of killers disadvantages, and thus making them better at finding hidden survivor, how would you compensate this disadvantage to survivors?
Also, just comparing this game to others doesnt help also. In other games, movement speed is mostly the same. Should survivors now move as fast as killers? I mean, its the same reasoning.

You didn't offend me, sorry If I did sound harsh too.
If such slider would exist, no one would use shadowborn, because why waste a perk slot for that?
The low FoV really is the balancing decision and as I said, even though I play other games at MUUUUUCH higher FoV than dbd, you get used to it and to some extend appreciate it, as it is additional skill you need to work at in as a killer, situational awareness and ability to quickly scan environment for clues by using your limited vision.
FoV slider would throw all of that out of the window and in some way make this game more casual than it actually is.
That's my point of view on it.
So let's agree to disagree.

"nooo! it would give a huge advantage!!!"
yeah? i guarantee that anyone that says this would pick shadowborn as the very last perk they'd run for an advantage. shadowborn is garbage and just feels good.
an FOV slider would not be a problem.

Tell that to Nurse, Huntress, Blight, Billy and few other killers who heavily benefit from it but can just work around having tighter FoV.
Shadowborn negates few plays that survivors can use around you if you are not careful (corner backtracking as an example) or abusing low FoV for harder hits (huntress and Billy as an example).
Use Shadowborn for few games, then play without it as some of these killers. It really makes it easier to deal with certain stuff and isn't just a QoL thing.
