No, You know what? Screw it.. I'm not buying any further DLC until Grind & Performance are addressed

I have decided that BHVR will never see a penny from me ever again.
I already have Plague, Myers and the RE DLC to max out so my hands are full. I've spent 3 million+ BPs on Myers and I still don't have all the perks & my BBQ is still level 1 on Myers. On top of my IRL work, I come home to work on getting my stuff maxed out so then I can finally have fun. This turns me off so much...
JUST GIVE ME BBQ&CHILLI FOR CHRIST SAKE and let me play the bloody killer that I want to level up so I don't have to rely on others & their BP offerings....
I might dedicate this entire Saturday, an ENTIRE DAY to get these characters maxed out and then quit DBD for the foreseeable future until stuff is fixed. Enough is enough, might still lurk on the Forums.
A ######### 2x Event to compensate us for your BS after the buggy disaster that is RE Chapter would've been great. At least it would've gotten our minds off things and could enjoy the event and the release. This is called proper compensation...

Also, why'd you nerfed demo? Placing a portal also has a chance to get you stuck for 2-3s as Demo so there's another bug for you. Also, placing a portal will make your game freeze.

I'd wait until after the hot fixes go through to do a marathon gaming session to max out your players. Doing it right now with all the issues just seems like punishing yourself with something you're already frustrated with.

I completely agree.
I, myself, am not spending a single dollar on this game until the devs optimize it for consoles and lower-end pc's, and reduce the insane grind.

I'm just going to say the same thing I say to everybody when I hear about the "grind".
The grind is, when you get down to it, literally just playing the game. There's no "end" scenario, no finale where the game has been "completed". The whole design of the game is to play it over and over and over. What's the point of rushing through a bunch of matches when the reward is more matches?
I don't understand why people don't just relax and play the game to have fun instead of trying to hurry to a specific goal like a certain perk or whatever. Once you get it you'll have angrily hurried through the game just to then...play more of the game.

That's a gross over-simplification. Perks/Add-ons drastically change how the game is played and can even make or break certain Killers(at the very least, make them significantly more competitive). Not to mention, some people find it fun to play around with different builds and don't want to dedicate hundreds if not thousands of hours to the game so that they can do that. The game gets stale before they ever make it there. It's not difficult to understand.
Not to mention we're essentially being barred from using content we payed for, without dedicating an inordinate amount of time to the game. This games grind is so bad it puts some F2P games to shame.
Also, why would you defend the grind if it clearly doesn't bother you or appeal to you? If it doesn't concern you, why bother trying to slap down a change that most players want? You seem to be disagreeing just to disagree.

I have the Series X so this isn't an issue that affects me (Well I guess the Grind does but I'm not bothered by that).
If I still had my last gen console, I wouldn't spend a damn dime on DLC in this game. This has been such an absolute clown show of a launch that I don't know if I would ever be willing to trust BHVR again until I upgraded to the new consoles (and even now with my Series X, I cringe at every update expecting this one to start causing the game to poop itself like it had been before I upgraded...).

Here's the problem Progression is random, and comparatively few perks are useful to either side, and many of those perks are designed by BHVR as a fix for core issues in the game. Have fun playing as survivor without DS and borrowed time. Have fun playing killer without gen defense. This isn't even factoring in that some perks work pretty much exclusively in combos, making the RNG aspect worse. The grind 100% needs to be addressed (and perks need to stop being locked behind characters BTW).

This is a good point and matches with my thoughts. I think the grind is an integral part of the game. The more a player wants to achieve, the more there is to grind. Which I think is great. I enjoy this game as is.
If grinding is not important to the player or there are things a player sees as too superfluous, we only really need four perks to achieve a favorite build. Goal to that then just enjoy the game as is.
You don’t have to prestige. You don’t need 84 purple perks on every killer. But it keeps giving me a bit more to attain.

I was going to say "Hell yeah me too, solidarity baby. Performance NEEDS to be looked at, and I would love for the grind to be easier." But it seems like other people are alright with how things are now based on the replies.
I love Resident Evil, I hella want the skins and the claire legendary. I'm holding off on it for now though. Just waiting, see if things get better before dumping more money into this.

Imagine driving through a beautiful country in a beat-up piece of crap car. It works fine, there's nothing wrong with it, it's just not a top of the line luxury model. You're on your way to the auto dealer to buy a better model. You can appreciate the beautiful scenery on your way, enjoying the experience as you go, or you can speed through and think of the entire ride as a chore just because you're not looking at the beautiful scenery through a more expensive window. Regardless of how fast you get the new car, the view is still the same.

I don't use any of those perks. They're half the problem. Everyone just wants to rush to the fastest power perks like it's a race. Gotta have Borrowed Time, gotta have Decisive Strike, gotta have BBQ.
I guess I'm unique in that I simply enjoy the gameplay. I don't feel any need to rush through it all, angry and frustrated because the game didn't start me out with the best possible equipment. That's basically what people are asking for when they say that the grind is too much and that something "needs to be done about it". They're saying "Speed up this game that's meant to be played a thousand times over and give me all the best stuff faster so I have to play it less".

Tbh its not worth to buy the original chapter those chapter are worst compare to the RE chapter and its not like the perk they release for killer are worth it and when the perk are good they get nerf 4 month later

But imagine your beat-up piece of crap car breaks down and strands you in the countryside. The scenery may be beautiful, but it's also hot out and there's no one and nothing around to help you. Now you have to finish the rest of your journey on foot in discomfort because your car wasn't up for the journey.
And right now, DbD is that beat-up piece of crap car. The dealer who sold it to you was also exclusively in charge of maintenance, but they failed to give it the tune-up it needed to continue running reliably on the road. While you would have been content to stick with and improve upon your well-traveled and well-loved beater, you're now stuck looking for a new car or waiting until major repairs can be performed on your old one.
All while the dealer is still charging you for that unfortunate tune-up.

You're conflating two different issues though. I'm not talking about technical performance, I'm talking about the belief that the game isn't fun or enjoyable until one gets the "good stuff". Once you get the good stuff it's still the same game. If repeatedly playing matches is a grind, then the game will always be a grind. That doesn't change just because you got a new trinket. Your kit changes, you might have more fun, but the game isn't any different. You're still doing the same thing. DBD doesn't switch from "grind" to "not a grind" when you get a perk that you wanted. It's still the same game.

I will admit, last night i decided to do a killer match before going to bed since i completely forgot about these current issues.... And oh my god it was so painful. I'm definitely putting killer role on wait for the moment.

A friend introduce me to this game, I bought the game but he didnt. He wanted to see how this game go through me because he has kid which mean busier than me. After few months I recommend him not to play this game because the grind is insane.

They should eliminate the grind by giving us the perks automatically without the need to buy them for bloodpoints. Only items, add-ons and offerings should be bought for bloodpoints.

I bought the game, some DLCs and I want to enjoy the game with the perk builds I want. I don't want to spend hundreds of hours until I finally manage to unlock the perk that I want on my character. I would buy more DLCs, but I won't, because I will never have enough time to get the perks I want to play with.
Players can work/grind for prestige skins or archive challenges if they want to.

I don't understand why they can't give one 1.5 or double bp event per month, preferably the weekend after reset, and/or add bp to the empty spaces in the free rift pass to help with the grind.
I got all perks but tier 3 pop on nemesis, after many bloodwebs after level 50, on xbox but on ps5 I am struggling to get any of my usual one. I keep getting perks I never use such as shadowborn, knock out, territorial and monsterous shrine as well as all the other meme build or useless perks. The problem is I have more shared perks on PS5 so it may take another 1-2 million bp to find them.
The grind should stay but lessened for those that don't want it and add more prestige levels, with proper, good rewards for doing so, for those that do

I'm not playing the game, you're just entirely missing the point.
I'll make it crystal clear: You say that the game is a grind because you don't get rewards for playing it fast enough. Therefore, you have to play a bunch of matches over and over. You don't like doing this. You eventually get your reward, and what do you get to do with it? You get to play a bunch of matches over and over. You now enjoy this.
The game is the same regardless of what items you have or how long it took you to get them. The fundamentals are the same. The structure is the same. The goals are the same. The game does not become a different thing just because you're gotten an item or perk that you wanted to get faster than the game is designed to give you. It is the same game before and after. Therefore it is either a grind at ALL times, no matter what, in which case there is no need to rush it (or, if you hate the grind that much, even play it all). OR, the game is NOT a grind, it's just a game that parcels out rewards at various intervals, and you are choosing to SEE it as a grind until you get the special thing that you want.
Demanding that the "grind" be eliminated is to do nothing to change the nature of the game other than give you the best things upfront, which defeats the goal of encouraging the player to enjoy playing the game repeatedly and working towards various rewards. Do you not understand this yet? Is this that difficult a concept for people to grasp?
It isn't a "grind". No one's forcing anyone to trudge through it in misery, hating every second until somehow the experience turns great just because you've gotten BBQ or whatever other thing you're complaining about not being handed right from the start. It is, like any other game, a system of gaining experience and rewards through playing. It is designed to be played a multitude of times. The more you play, the more you amass nice things. It doesn't have to be a "grind" - AKA a chore - unless you choose to see it that way.

Why even play the game if, once you get the perks you want, you will ostensibly now be spending hundreds of hours on the game just like you didn't want to do before you got your perk?
The game is ALL ABOUT spending hundreds, if not thousands, of hours playing. That is the entire point of the game. It isn't an RPG with a story that has a beginning, a middle and an end. It is a competitive game in which you go against other players in a constant flow of matches. That does not change whether you have the items you want or not, and to insist that you be given the items you want right off the bat is no different that someone playing said RPG and saying "this game isn't fun, I want all the best armor and magic spells right from the start so I can enjoy the game". If you're incapable of enjoying the game before maxing out your character, why play? Why subject yourself to so much alleged misery if the whole goal upon getting the good stuff is ultimately to PLAY THE GAME?

I would agree with you if it weren't for the fact that Perks, Items and Add-ons significantly change the game and are required to be competitive. Builds also alter gameplay and are a core part of the game; we're not talking about meaningless skins and charms. To lock a core part of the game behind a grind that most players will never complete, is a problem, especially when you do the math.

I have already played the game for some time, so I know how it works. I would like to play some other killers and I have various perk builds in my mind that I would like to try. This is what I would like to do, and I don't want to spend time on buying the perks in bloodweb. I just want to try the killer with various perk builds. I see no fun in slow unlocking of perks.

Played as Oni last night and yeah I concede that this patch is crap. Was skipping right as I threw my demon strike. I miss 1 in 6 or 7, last night I missed about 6 before landing 1 😅

Why can’t we get BP for logging in every day like the lunar year event? Behaviour haven’t even made a single ounce of effort to reduce the grind, it’s really quite disgusting.

I would like more blood points per match or more scoring events. I don't feel like it's a "grind" because it isn't my end goal, but lots of killers play better with ad-ons and I don't get as many blood points if I can't afford to keep replacing them. It's a vicious cycle.

Sadly, the grind is here to trigger player retention.
Putting a lot of effort into something, one would feel a huge loss of time by quitting the game.
Just like WoW or anything, really. The grind is the main quest of DbD, and is why there are people still playing this game.

Then I guess it's just a philosophy difference. I don't want everything to just be open and available and handed to me all at once, then to me there's absolutely no sense of progress or accomplishment. That's not to say that your preference is "wrong", just that I don't understand why some people feel that there's such a dramatic difference in fun between playing as a character who doesn't have the best perks and playing as one who does. It's not as if the game changes so much that it goes from "misery" to "fun" once that happens. Not to me, anyway.

There really isn't that much to do in this game anyways, Survivor gameplay has remained the same for years and Killer gameplay is only really changed depending on the Killer. No different modes either, just the same game as either Survivor or Killer. It's insane.

I suppose it depends on how much the individual enjoys the gameplay loop. I enjoy it quite a bit, but can understand why others may not. I'm really looking forward to the fleshing out of the bot matches, assuming that they follow through with that. The ability to set up AI scenarios for practice as or against certain killers, or to even just hit a button to throw me into a completely randomized and unpredictable game, would be a blast. No idea who you'll face, no idea what perks you'll be given, no idea what to expect at all. I think that this would bring a really fresh new way to play.

Core gameplay elements shouldn't be "rewarded," to you, especially in a PVP game; especially when it takes thousands of hours to unlock them. Cosmetics, fine, but not something as significant as Perks/Items/Add-ons.

Well, whether they're "core gameplay elements" is subjective, as is whether they should be rewarded and when. Again, the argument that all the best perks and so forth should just be granted to the player right from the outset goes against the very concept of the game. It's like saying that you should get your high school diploma as soon as you enter kindergarten.
The game's entire design is to play repeatedly for hundreds of hours. By saying that it's not fun and that you should get the good stuff right away is the same as saying "I don't like that the game works the way that it was made to work, they should change it so that I enjoy it more".

That is in no way subjective. Builds are a primary feature of the game because they significantly impact gameplay. A single Perk can completely alter how the match is played on either side, and the same goes for items. I have no idea how you can possibly say that builds are not a core gameplay element.
And yes, the game is designed to be played repeatedly, that doesn't mean that you should lock actual gameplay mechanics behind hundreds/thousands of hours. This is a PVP game, it is inherently competitive; players don't want to be handicapped for hundreds/thousands of hours while they unlock a good build for a Killer, so they can compete against the teams they're paired up against. In order for competitions to be fair, both sides should have equal access the same tools or in this case(asymmetric), the tools provided to them. Thus, if I don't have access to all of my tools, I'm being handicapped in a competitive environment that mind you, is already unbalanced and unfair at it's core.
You're also completely neglecting to see that build variety keeps the game fresh. I dont want to play 300 matches with the same build, while I wait to unlock another decent build, on a single Killer. I want to be able to play all the Killers and experiment with them.
Speaking from personal experience here, there are Killers I wont touch, that I'd love to play with, because at Rank 1, I know Im going to get murdered without a build. And you know what, it gets old using the same crap over-and-over until I can unlock a build on them. That's one reason I switched over to Survivor(along with this games horrible balance), because I can play around with builds, with a much lower time commitment.
And you still haven't answered my original question: If you don't care about the grind and just enjoy playing the game, what problem do you have with this of us who do care about the grind, asking for it to be reduced? You seem to be acting contrarian just for the sake of it.

You forgot that a big majority of perks are locked behind a paywall first and foremost & then behind a grind.

That's a good point, athough, I think you can still pick them up if they pop up in the Shrine, even if you don't own the Killer/Survivor. That's just another addition to the grind/wait, though.
