The lack of action on balancing Keys is disturbingly survivor sided
Moris were nerfed to pieces. Understandably so, they were unfair to the survivors. But honestly, survivors are favored so much in high levels (SWF or high solo survivors) that when I was an upcoming Killer player, I enjoyed Mori games because it actually created a challenge for these top survivors.
What disturbs me most is that keys were not reworked or nerfed at the same time. Keys only benefit SWF on comms (sometimes screwing any solo survivors which I've seen many times). Additionally, they break the game, requiring teams to get fewer gens completed to gain access. They are unfair to killers in almost the same ways as Moris were unfair to survivors.
Yet, the Devs only vaguely reference a key rework. Its honestly frustrating to the killer player base (and mildly frustrating to solo survivors who get screwed by the key). The Devs acknowledged there was a killer shortage, I suspect that will continue to be a problem.

Honestly keys wouldnt even be a problem if the hatch didnt spawn till all 5 gens are done(a simple number change just like mori's). It being there promotes survivors to stop trying and makes it turn into a waiting game.

Idk if you were a player back before egc was a thing but trust me you do not want to be in hatch standoffs or having to wait for survivors to sneakly do 5 gens, it is was one of the most boring things in this game.
Before to get hatch you needed to do 2 gens, if somehow survivors did not do 1 gen you as the killer had to have amazing tracking skills and great gaming sense to find them.

I guarantee Mori's accounted for a similar number of Kills. Get better at looping? Just don't go down?
Rarity != balance.
Keys need a change, and if we are changing them to be as powerful as Mori's are currently, they'd look something like the following.
"Keys can be used to unlock the Hatch after the Exit Gates have been opened. Only one Survivor can escape using a Dull Key, but two can escape using a Skeleton Key."
Counters Bloodwarden, but is basically just a cool animation.
Mori's, likewise, counter DS on 2nd hook, but are basically just a cool animation.

I know. Everything is survivor sided. I mean sure I get a 4K most rounds and they removed pallets and windows but still. We shouldn’t have to try to get kills! Plus those pesky survivors always doing gens like it’s their objective. Makes me so mad!!! Also what with borrowed time and ds? How can I camp and tunnel with those op survivor perks?

I feel the same way. Keys are free passes for survivors to avoid doing their objectives. They hurt the killer (unfair to his or her hard work) and other survivors (unfair if you aren't in the "in" crowd)

I'm still upset about not being able to switch killers in a lobby. Meanwhile I still have survivors wait till the last 5 seconds to switch their entire loadouts by switching characters. I get that their "just skins" but its annoying to not be able to build around a 4 man flashlight or key build.
And with the Franklin's nerf keys can't be hard countered anymore. And tunneling is boring for me...

Just camp and tunnel survivors like every killer lately is doing even when no keys are in play.
And god forbid a survivor does bring a key in the lobby the killer goes all out no fun and the other three of us pay for one persons actions it's so annoying.
I just want keys to be balanced in regards to hatch and to be able to use them as aura reading items without being called names. No seriously I have a massive stash of skeleton keys I can't wait to use when/if BHVR finally reworks them lol

It’s because keys are the only thing keeping solo queue survivors playing the game. With the devs blatant refusal to give solo queue things like a base kit totem counter, indication if someone is being chased, or just proximity comms, keys become the only bearable way for solo queue survivors to play the game.

They're not touching keys for a long time maybe at best next year. So for now dodge those lobbies!

Keys aren't keeping solos playing the game, where did you pull that from? Why should solo players be given perks for free?
Base kit totem counter- Just run small game
Chase indication- You already always have an obsession in the game and if that's not enough then use bond or empathy
The options are there but survivors don't want to take off their meta perks in exchange for these options.

Because SWF isn't the standard and shouldn't be look at as such. The game was designed and balanced with solos in mind, swf was an afterthought put into the game so friends could play together. This becomes even more apparent when multiple instances of perks stacked together gives the killer less and less chances.

Mori’s did not create challenge for higher skilled survivors, all they did before their nerf was make the match easier for the killer. Also mori’s were used by the killer to ruin the survivors gameplay experience.
