Why wont DBD change?
Simply just getting a raise of hands of who else thinks the innovation and progression of dbd is at a turtles pace. I took a break from dbd for about a year and come back to it during the RE chapter and it still seems very apparent that the game is stuck in some way.
Besides all the new DLC perks and characters the game still feels the EXACT same from about a couple years ago (especially since dbd is very buggy and imbalanced most of the time)
Is there a reason things don't change, especially for the better? Small team? Copyright issues? Conflict in the workplace? Did I miss something?

It's easier to keep piling new crap onto the existing structure (no matter how bad that underlying structure is) to distract with "new content" than it is to rebuild the structure from the ground up to make real improvements. It's bad for the long-term health of the game, but it works in the short-term, and the problem is that most investors only care about the short-term.

...change in what way?
Because it seems to me that the game is constantly changing.
Frequent balance and bug patches, trimonthly large content seasonal updates, content added to the in-game store every single week, fortnightly lore and challenge drops, etc. The newest Killer even implemented a unique AI environmental obstacle, but that isn't changing the game?
I'm not sure what you're expecting.

Because people hate change, untill they calm down and look at it more objectively.

I agree that they do push out new content fairly quick which is impressive, and yes they also do balance updates quite a bit but that's kinda my point, I took a break for a year so that should mean a lot has changed, which don't get me wrong a lot has changed but nothing too impactful. My point is that the game at ground level still feels very outdated and rusty with nothing that feels like it really turned the game around and did something different, BE plays it safe and does not take any risks, and I get it though what's the point of changing it if people enjoy it? It just gets very boring and disappointing for a lot of long time fans.
P.S. The zombie AI can be pretty garbage

Because it shouldn't.

yes it is changes but not whats needed. the meta seems stagnant with the same perks, the same problems and updates taking 3 months unless its a hot fix just for them to be miniscule changes that dont fix much. while AI's are cool and new, it needs tons of work that i doubt they will improve it for awhile just because of survivors complaints of them being annoying.
