Im revisiting this a FOURTH time, as of patch 5.7.2 and when 6.0.0 launched skyBilly is being removed and with that The Last bit of fun being removed besides curving i feel 2 years After his nerf everyone agrees that he needs some love from The devs because IT feels that they hate him more than his own parents Who knows and maybe BHVR will Take some inspiration from me
Im revisiting this once again with more ideas, also BHVR if some employee sees this remember that weekend test with bloodlust how about weekend addons tests where u mess around with addons to make them more viable or less oppresive depending on situation i mean like every 2 weeks u test some addons, say to everyone they've been changed on The in game news and add them on The next patch if feedback is positive
Hello everyone, i have been thinking on a new billy rework as we are aproaching 2 years since he was reworked back in patch 4.1.0 alongside bubba but unlike bubba the rework left him with almost nothing he got a weaker base power and 6 usable addons that are decent (now recently tho The engravings are good by modern standards) so since he was so brutaly murdered back then i thought of maybe another rework for him. My goal with this Re-rework is to get rid of unnecesassary clother and useless stuff his been pumped with.
Basekit changes
Bring back his old camera settings (FOV, position everything)
Chainsaw heat mechanic REMOVED
Chainsaw glow REMOVED
Bring back The Old chainsaw sound and The noise The saw did when it was ready to use again After cooldown
Smoke particles can be removed as The chainsaw no longer has a disfunction and also this allows Survivors to see you at high walls which they should not be able to detect where you are
Remove the Rawr (i dont know if people would be upset about this but for me it seems like a net pozitive if this is not removed one of the addons have this effect instead)

Receive a notificaton on how long the addon is active just like nurses spasmodic breath.
The chainsaw distant chainsaw noise is heard on The whole map to indicate The use of such a significant change in charge time

Hitting into an object while The charge Time effect is active makes The chainsaw make a distinctive loud noise and disables The ability to use The chainsaw for The remainder of the addon's temporary effect (this could honeslty be 30 seconds by itself instead of that because it maybe hard to code aswell as a useless side effect if you bump at 1 second remaining and also give false positives with The loud noise)

Allows to pass trough pallets and lose 10% movement speed that ramps backup in 1.5s
Survivors hit this way dont go down for The next 3 seconds
(these changes were made to allow more counterplay at a dropped pallet and make Billy travel less distance After breaking one in order to reward him with a one shot down for catching up with The survivor that he is chasing After those 3 seconds are up)

The chainsaw does not make noise outside of your Terror radius
Gain undetectable After starting a chainsaw sprint (blight has a similar effect on a purple addon idk why Billy should do only After 2 seconds on an iridescent)
After becoming fully undtectable undetectable gain 28% yaw speed movement (Move left and right faster but only when The TR has reached absolute 0 not when it starts shrinking)

With this reupdate on this i think this is mostly what people would want on Billy feel free to be my critics and say if i missed some addon idea or basekit change.

Overheat change is pointless as the entire reason it's hated is that it's a pointless limitation on a power.
The reason the overheat dissipated at 6.6 was that you only lost your power for 15 seconds, rather than the 30 you're suggesting... or about 30 if you had your heat at 99. And OMG, the junkyard filter ups that 30 to 36... that's just needlessly punishing.
In fact, I'll do some math.
99 charges. You're literally about to overheat.
Currently, it'll take 28 secs to cool off or around 20 with the yellow add-on.
Your suggestion lowers that 28 to 25 (well, 24.75)... while making actually overheat more punishing.
Before you say "then don't overheat." No one does already unless...
1) they're a new Billy experimenting to which these changes would discourage them even more. Mastering Billy is hard enough, let's *not* make it harder on them.
2) Double Engravings which is well known to have completely lost viability currently.
3) Engravings without an add-on to limit your overheat due to the extra charge time.
Basekit overheat is dumb because it's annoying and limits your chainsaw use whereas you were able to go liberal with it before, shred pallets, move around, and then go in a chase. Your changes don't bring that back.
And to be honest, I'll just straight up say it. Old Billy is never coming back.

To be honest, no changes to Overheat will make it less awful. It needs to get removed.

Honestly I would be happy if they revert the POV/animations or however you want to call it, I hate the new animation/POV and the roar.
I miss maining Billy.

@OldHunterLight The roar serves as a mechanic to know when Billy starts chainsawing even without having line of sight on him IT bassicly servs a mechanic to add him more counter play.
@GeneralV i personally think its just The lack of a decent power and good addons that acctually makes The overheat feel so bad and i just want The overheat to stay to have The sound of the heated saw but i would say yea it could be removed but i made a rework for how behaviour wants Billy to be but if you dont have The overheat i dont think there would be any creative addons besides making a tremendous decreas charge Time and more speed

Yes the roar serves as a counter play, but you know what else does, the chainsaw noise, you were able to tell from which side Billy was going to curve or use the chainsaw just by the noise.
Billy has plenty on counterplay the only thing that he needed changed was addons and I'm talking about charge reduction addons, example bulb, spark plug etc.
Everything that bhvr added to Billy was really not needed as Billy had a lot of counterplay already.

Yea you could say but without The roar and no LoS you cant tell when he acctually goes on sprinting but as a good player as i think both of us are yea you could say that but i think The roar was added for New players both as a counterplay method and as a "scary" sound since they are told that this is a "horror game" and since im still maining nurse and Billy still After both of their rework i can say The New user Experience on Billy is quite bad

@GrimReaperJr1232 yea for The amount of punishment i added for overheating i think its a little to little of chainsaw cooling rate i think i Will raise that up to - 5 heat/s like its with a Base punctured muffler(or how it used to be before The second nerf because they said that The overheat is Pointless) and like you said double engravings lost their viability even tho personally i dont play Billy without double engravings even now i find them quite fun and i just want to bring back their viability. I like your thinking i Will edit some things come back and say everything against it as i like your criticism

No overheat has to go. They tried messing with overheat in various ways but its a terrible idea. Eventually after exhausting every possible way to play with overheat, eventually after getting the same complaints over and over again, eventually when they want to release a premium billy skin they wil have to suck it up and rip the mechanic out.
Do not give an inch to overheat its bad for billy in so many ways and addressing any of the issues or mittigating it is only obscuring its lack of need in dbd. It does nothing but
A. Push new players away from actually practising his saw and expermenting with it on various loops, B. Reduces the time allowed for practising map navigation (one of billies most enticing pleasures).
Behaviour tried everything to make overheat work and its clear across the commnunity they failed.
They vandalised there own property and should stop ignoring the community and actually show they care. Bring billy back to his former glory rework the insta saw add ons and be done with it.

@Zarathos yea everyone that responded here is right with removing The overheat but i think old Billy cant have enough creative addons to get ultra Rares and very Rares without being The same addons over and over i think this is the main reason why they added overheat is that ran out of addon ideas
