Maybe to give the last survivor the hatch? But don't worry, the only rules you have to follow are the ones made by the devs.

We don't talk about fight club. :) There is no last rule, only idiotic morays and the so-called Survivor's Rulebook for Killers. You do you.

I see 2 options here
1) straight-forward (and likely true) answer: "you should have given me the hatch"
2) weird - there's a thing called "Sole survivor policy/rule" in the US army, which prevents people with close relatives who died at war to be drafted into army. It is a distant consequence of the Sallivan brothers' story that was later used as a basis for Spielberg's Saving private Ryan. This would only make sense here if all survivors either had matching models/names in-game, or were close relatives IRL.

Rule 4536:
If the endgame collapse has reached the halfway point, the killer must leave any hooked or downed survivor and stand in a corner. If the survivors blind the killer they cannot do anything about it and will be hate crimed in the post game chat.
This concludes the latest edition of the survivor rulebook for killers: 5.0.1 .
