This whole debacle with the new chapter highlights a need for console PTBs

With this patch we had the new map disabled, constant crashes on all platforms, framerate issues on consoles as well as breaking the Clown due to the hindered status effect not working.

Obviously this has made people a little upset, as well as increased tensions between the devs and console player base due to consistent framers problems. When one person on the forums questioned the Q&A department ability, one of the devs, Almo, responded with this comment.

"We absolutely do multiple device testing. But there's a big difference between a team of people testing internally and hundreds of thousands playing on the released version."

With this comment, the need for a console PTB is shown. If there was a console PTB for this chapter, all of these issues would have been recorded, and would have probably been fixed sooner. Instead we have to wait for another bugfix for a couple of weeks in order to fix the game.

There are already online games that do their equivalent to PTBs on console. Most notably, Overwatch has an experimental card that allows console users to test balance changes. I also think Smite does this as well although feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. The point is that its not impossible for consoles to have access to new test patches at the same time as PCs.

So I implore the devs to please consider having console PTBs in order to improve their game health. As this chapter shows, if you don't want every patch to break several aspects of the game, a console PTB to spot these bugs in advance is necessary, as it seems like they need the help from the console community to find these bugs.
