seriously.

its annoying, its unnecessary and it KEEPS FILTERING THE WRONG WORDS.


just learned that "hawkins" is blocked.

why?


yes this is (at least above the line) a rant.

because i keep getting completely normal messages censored & conversations screwed by this thing for absolutely no reason.

and the best part? it doesnt even censor out insults that well. there is still like a huge list of stuff that, by chat filter logic, SHOULD be censored, but isnt.

yet the filter is actively blocking completely idiotic stuff - like names.

not to mention that the entirety of this filter fails the very second you start having an conversation in any language that isnt english. i kid you not, the german version of "I have" ("habe ich") is blocked. ;-;

i can understand why you wanted a chat filter in the game.

i get the reasoning and i also think its not necessarily a bad thing either - but please understand that a lot of us have no issue with others being insulting towards us and, given the extremely flawed state this filter is in, would much rather entirely disable it than getting screwed by it for no reason repeatedly.

i for one find it MUCH more annoying to see unnecessary stuff filtered out every second end game chat than seeing one guy getting very salty every fifty end game chats.

and the best part is: there is a way for you to make everyone happy! its very simple aswell: just add an "enable / disable chat filter" option. This small addition would effectively eliminate a vast majority of the complaints people have about this filter, as they could always just turn it off, while simultaneously allowing those who dont have a thick skin to keep insulting messages blocked from their chats without having to entirely disable them.

it would be a win-win scenario and it would make me a lot happier if we had it.
