Trapper vs Trickster

Been a while since my last killer vs killer so let's go again. Here I put the in my opinion two weakest killers in the game against each other. So:

Who in your opinion would you class as the better killer of these two and why?

And which one of them in your opinion is most fun to play?

Trickster is less fun but a whole lot better without addons. In my opinion, addonless Trapper is the worst killer in the game. Trickster can get some use out of his blades in many situations and at certain tiles be more oppressive than Deathslinger. Plus, the good addons that he has benefit his power greatly.

I think Trapper is more fun but in terms of viability, I'd say Trickster is slightly better.

Both are not exactly fun to play against imo, but Trickster is much stronger than trapper. Trickster can´t be looped at low tiles, has his power more readily available and can mindgame better because he´s the smallest killer. His chase is generally so much better than trappers simply for being able to get health states at a range, plus he can punish unhooks much more.

Trapper on the other hand....well, on every reworked map the traps stand out like beacons (same for indoor maps) and even if you´re not paying even the slightest attention and happen to step on one, chances are you´re out before he gets to you. Add the fact they have to sacrifice several gens worth of pressure to get a slight chance of their power giving them value and you have a recipe for weakest killer in the game. Voilá.

To me Trickster is the better killer, but I much rather play Trapper he is one of my top 3 favourite killers to play and to play against. Setting traps and catch survivors in them is the best killer feeling.

Both these killers deserve buffs and I think they will get it..some year.

I'm not entirely sure. They both have very unique strengths and very pronounced weaknesses so it's a bit difficult to judge who is better.

Trapper can potentially snowball much harder than any other killer in the game. However his snowball requires quite a bit of setup and said setup can be undone by Survivors.

Against Trickster, you essentially have about half as many (or less) useful tiles because his power straight up invalidates any short tile and he's one of the scarier Killers when you're in a dead zone. However the tiles that are useful against him are very useful against him.

I guess its just a case of raw power vs reliability. Trapper for raw power, Trickster for reliability. But overall... probably Trickster is a bit better.

Trickster has range, and trapper has a stationary power. I guess Trickster.

But wow I'd honestly opt for huntress and hag instead.

The one thing I'll say is that trapper makes me paranoid on where I step, so I guess he has that going for him. But that's just me, I'm sure there's people that can keep their cool.

Trapper is only useful if you play him extremely braindead: trap the basement area, down someone near it, take them there and then camp. If you place traps around the map you're most likely going to lose.

Trickster is literally playing huntress, except in slow motion.

That being said, Trapper when played like this cam atleast potentially get a 4k while trickster really struggles to get 2 or 3.

Trickster can actually get downs against smart survivors with his power

if you're SWFing against a trapper you pretty much win on the spot

Tricky is better than Trapper chase-wise and power-wise.

Tricky is more fun than Trapper IMO. If the team you go against is coordinated and sees what you do, your traps are useless and then you become a man with a machete.

Plus, I love spamming blades. I just really enjoy Trickster's playstyle.

Trapper is better. Both killers can get their powers countered by playing smart. The difference is that if Trapper's traps fail, you can at least play normally as a M1 115% killer.

Also, Trapper can shut down places with his traps, which creates a little bit of map pressure. Trickster gives you only 1v1 power which is not that good tbh.

Addonless, 100% trickster which is mostly how I play dbd unless doing a personal challenge.

But with map changes I just think that trapper is getting nerfed and nerfed since grass is really bad now.

But I guess it depends on the players.

    Trickster.

with Trappers new trap models traps are actually much more efficient than they were before, as they arent extremely obvious anymore.

dont get me wrong, he still sucks, but definitely not as much as Ji-Woon does.
