where's the: Chases aren't the only fun part in DBD option? to me it's the times when you avoid getting chased narrowly by a split second decision to hide somewhere, then watch as the killer desperately searches for a survivor that isn't there anymore as you walk away.
but i mean sure, as killer its all chase. Unless I'm a stealth killer in which case successfully sneaking up on them is my favorite part.

pissing them off and keeping them from more or less regular gameplay. So, sandbagging, leaving them on hook when you could rescue them safely (e.g. cause you don't like what character they're playing), blowing up gens on purpose, not healing them when it's safe to do so and would be advantageous
that kind of thing
To me that's the second option (every playstyle that doesn't hurt others).
And you might be surprised how many non-stealth killer players actually like playing cat and mouse instead of chases

Stealthing can be extremely fun if pulled off correctly, although its not for everybody. Same as how some people enjoy playing Hag and not chasing people. As long as the intention isn't to bore/infuriate the other side, anything goes honestly.

Chases are most of what's fun, but they're not the only thing. Stealth used to be, for example, back when killers could hear things that weren't directly in their LoS. Now it's like playing Assassins Creed or a Bethesda RPG in easy mode.

I like getting sneaky hits with wraith or ghostface because I can't be bothered to play ring around the pallet with a survivor for 10 minutes

Every playstyle that doesn't hurt others is legit
Things that I personnally find fun other than chases from the top of my head:
- Snowball effect - fun for both sides
- Memeing - fun for both sides
- Everyone dying really early into the game - fun as survivor, i feel bad as killer
- NOED - don't run it as killer but i love going against end-game builds as survivor (adds a little spice and a nice "oh sh*t" moment lol)
- Stealthy survivor - can be really fun as survivor but i hate it as killer so i rarely do it
Now it's not because a game isn't fun that it can't be enjoyed, lots of things can make the game boring (campers, 4 stealthy survivors...) but getting tunnelled & survivors not leaving the game for no reason are probably the 2 things that genuinely piss me off and ruin the game for me.
