One possible problem with DBD that's overlooked.
I have yet to see anyone post this, but I did a little research on BHVR's website and saw their standards for hiring out new people to work on Dead By Daylight.
And the standards are insanely high.
Yet I see indie dev teams create much better works (prime example: The Forest). So maybe it's time you really look for passion in developers over experience? If I recall correctly, there was an open position for an event designer.
I looked into the requirements for this out of curiosity, and it required 5+ years of previous experience in the video game industry. This sounds a bit excessive for such a poorly made game, no? I know you probably want the best of the best, but maybe begin to question who is passionate about the game more than money first. Lately, it has shown bright as day that the team is all here for money. I mean, how else would you keep up your automated in-studio cafe? But seriously. Prioritize your game and the passion put into it. It's an investment.
(When I say team, I tend to exclude the art team as they have been doing a phenomenal job. Maybe.)
