Patch 5.0.2 is a joke right?
We're hoping this update will also help performance on the Raccoon City Police Station map, but we want to ensure it is stable enough to be reinstated for live games. We will be monitoring how the map is doing in custom games with these new changes and provide you all with an update soon.

We have reduced the overall visual quality on Switch to help improve performance. The game may still crash when played on the Raccoon City Police Station map, but less frequently. Rest assured, we are still working on ensuring that the new map does not crash on this platform.
Lmao it's been literal weeks since the patch came out and we STILL can't play on the new map. I'm also loving the "the map will still crash, but chill out it's not that bad" mentality. Why even push the patch out?
There are a bunch of minor bug fixes that probably affected some people but as far as I can see, this hotfix only did one thing.
Fixed an issue where completing a tutorial match with bots would cause customization and perks to be unequipped for all characters.
Fixing the tutorial that punished people for wanting to learn how to play the game and earn bloodpoints. What a joke of a patch -_-

Yeah, It's been 2 weeks since the new patch and we still can't play on the new map... This is outrageous...

Oh I don't know, maybe to make the game semi-playable on the Switch, help reduce OoM crashes, and very slightly improve console optimisation while still working on it? Alongside fixing a couple of minor bugs. Just a guess though

What bothers me the most is Clown being totaly unplayeble thanks to his power not working many times.
Okay, map for two weeks is sad (For me personaly it is amazing since that map is total garbage to play) but can you imagine waiting +2 weeks for a Killer to be playeble? I am disapointed.

It's not criticism, I'm saying it shouldn't have been a bug to begin with.
I'm saying how do you implement a tutorial that punishes people for wanting to learn the game.

First of all, it was a bug. It wasn't an intentional implementation.
Second of all, "punishes" is an extreme way to look at it. It unequipped cosmetics; that's annoying, but not harmful.

Well, technically it punshed established players and not new ones. As new players wouldn't of customised that much.

No word on him being fixed in the 5.0.2 patch, and neither for Freddy or Clown.

Ouch, leveled him up to prestige 3 and got over 60 of all addons while having almost every perk for killer.....really hope they fix it sometime.

Clown still remains unfixed. The slowdown on entering the gas only activates if the gas has been alive for more than around half a second.
This makes him unable to properly use his power in most instances.

Not just cosmetics, at least not for me. Perks, add ons, offerings, items... Everything reseted to default aka nothing.
I mean yeah it is not a big issue but it it shouldn't happen.

You just have your equipment... well unequiped. That's not punishing, annoying yes, but punishing?
Punishing is like you do the tutorial as a red rank and I decide you're not worth it, and just ban you.

People out here really arguing the semantics of the word instead of the fact that BHVR literally released a bugged tutorial and incentivized people, new and veterans, to do it by giving them bloodpoints and a charm.

Again, the bug isn't too big of an issue. I think people complain for the sake of complaining. This topic in particular. I can understand people's frustration over killer bugs, frame rate issues, non-stackable cakes (even though they're stackable now), account loss, console bricks, etc.
But this is just a minor inconvenience at best. So when people dealt with it once, they went ballistic and stacked it on top of everything.
Again, I understand people's frustration over all the other pressing issues, but saying they're being "punished" by this minor bug is just pushing it.
And yes, you have your ######### unequipped, but in return here's 250,000 bloodpoints.

It's 4 perks for 24 killers and 27 survivors you have to put back. And if aren't sad enough to document your favourite builds, it will take a very long time to restore over 200 perks!
(Fortunately, I AM sad enough to document my favourite builds)

The perks are in alphabetical order, plus each icon is rather distinctive. It's not hard to remember where each perk is at. Now if it caused all your perks and addons to unequip every single day, then that's a very fair thing to complain about. But, it only happened once

I would LOVE to go back to the patch before 5.0.0. I can live without Nemesis and a couple of survivors for 6 months if that is what it would take.

The console "optimization" just made xbox one UNPLAYABLE! It's pitch black on autohaven maps and the others are not much better. Glad i got to see what it was like just before the update.. they ruined it. I am also getting even more stuttering now.
Roll back the update!

You can play on it anytime you like. Just do a custom game and help them test the stability. :)

Half of the patch notes are once again fixes for stuff no one cares about.
Tutorial head for Dwight was wrong? Meanwhile, you STILL can't even play clown because his bottles don't slow survivors down!

I absolutely love people talking about the new map not being back yet. Here's the trick: before they fix something, they must find the cause of the issue. And if they can't manage to find what causes the crashing, they can't fix it. People always talk about how bugs aren't fixed, but no one ever questions what bug fixing takes.
People need to chill and look at some gamedev tutorials to observe that all these issues aren't fixed by pressing the fix button.

They put out a map for dlc thats broke and they can't manage to fix it in two weeks. If that was my job I wouldn't expect to be welcome in the office. The Shakespeare typing monkeys could do it quicker.
Hobby modders have done a better job with characters than these devs for christs sake.

You guys wanted optimization. Graphics are gonna take a hit... this is what happened last time. I'm switching to my new PC Thursday, so I don't care anymore. Hopefully PC is still fine. Lol

I personally cant learn Nemesis because of this. Whiffing as you know can lose you the game and hit % and dexterity is extremely important. This being the case Nemesis is nearly unplayable and because of this i find myself using his ability less which is bad. Same here man

I work in IT, as a developer for a specific piece of software. If I put something out this bugged Id be fired or at the very least seriously reprimanded. And if it took 2 weeks to fix we'd lose clients. Dont try and shame people for being upset. Their feelings are perfectly valid when they paid for the product.

You bring up an interesting point. I assumed optimization fixes would benefit all platforms, is that not true? Is making something smoother on an Xbox possibly detrimental to a PC? We can't have one platform fix hurting another, that'd be a never ending vicious cycle of misery.
Ok what would you suggest they do? Altogether the consoles are the larger playerbase now, and something like 80-85% of those on Xbox or PS are still on the proir gen machines. Cost and availability will likely keep us stuck there for who knows how long, as does lack of Cross Progression.
What can they do?

Q1: If they would have known the cause of the issue, be sure it would have been fixed. They know the issue, but right now, if I ask you to tell me why it crashes and what needs to be repaired, can you tell me? Probably not, because you would have to investigate, and if you can't find the source, you can't repair anything. (If your car isn't starting, you now the issue, but in order to fix it, you have to know why it isn't starting)
Q2: Valid feelings? Yes, of course. No one says they shouldn't be upset. But they also shouldn't trash down the company because they aren't able to find the source of the issue.

Bhvr is acutely aware they don’t have to fix anything. They have the monopoly on this game style, and until another company comes out with something that can compete, bhvr has no reason to sweat anything…..and it shows.

At this people are well within what is right to trash on the company. They clearly dont test enough or do it correctly to properly avoid bugs and huge issues. If this was the first major issue then people would be overreacting and it would be wise to give them time. At this point, two of the last 3 chapters, twins and Nemesis, have in large part broken the game. If they can't handle the content cycle and put out a good product then slow down production or higher more people, that is what a good company would do.

All-kill was also broken. It had the no stun bug, which was patched, except it wasn't until they did it twice.

They need to have different code to optimize the game for each. You simply shouldn't assume that what works on pc will work on console or vis versa. You shouldn't even assume that what works on xbox will work on PlayStation, etc...
They clearly do not test enough and are very reliant in the PTB for issues, which honestly should be used for balance analysis and minor bug issues not to catch major issues. This is a big problem when the PTB is only on one platform and they cant seem to optimize for one without breaking others.

Thing is though,as a company they are supposed to test all their updates before they release them in order to prevent major game breaking issues.
But as we all know and already experienced it ourself,BHVR just doesn't do that.

So what is the responsible decision for a company in this situation?
Delay the update until you're confident that it will work without major issues.The mature part of the community would be 100% ok with that.At the end of the day we all want a good and functioning update.
But BHVR actively decides against acting in a responsible manner and continues to push out one broken update after another.
So of course people will start to get more and more angrier

That is true, but I was more referring to completely game destroying bugs/performance issues, like freezing or the twins getting stuck in the map for the entire match. The no stun bug is a big deal that they should have caught with minimal testing, but at least matches could still mostly be played.
