How am I supposed to enjoy the event on PS4 pro?

I have been waiting for this new patch to allow me to play during the biggest event of the year.

I had hopes that BHVR wouldn't let thousands of console players down before the event... and the fps and lag got even worse in some cases...

I cannot comprehend this!

How is this ok for us on consoles? how are we supposed to play the event when 40% of the time after an interaction survivor-killer you have to endure 1 second of frozen screen?

@MandyTalk nothing official, no apologies?

Honestly, this. It ia extremely rare for BVHR to listen to our Feedback and Suggestions. When they do, it is because of pure luck.

If anything this should be an eye opener for people to upgrade to a pc instead of a ps5 , you can upgrade most PCs but if you try and do the same to a console the maker will ban you from playing online after it's been modified, the ps5 I've heard runs this game well but years down the line as technology upgrades even it will be out of date while a pc can always upgrade as it goes and stay with the times in most aspects

Clearly PTB's need to be implemented on console. But when this will be, I'll never know.

I feel like a bit of a prick because while I can play it just fine, there are plenty of others that can't even play the game due to freezes and lag.

If there's one thing I want for this anniversary event, it's for everyone to enjoy it.

    Sadly that isn't happening.

Ps5 and Series X runs perfectly fine and smooth for me so I'm guessing it's either a case by case basis or last gen consoles. BHVR was a little too optimistic as to how consoles could handle all the upgraded things they have been trying to do.

I doubt they would ever do this since the costs for a couple of weeks ptb to sony and microsoft would dent their wallets.

Appreciate the sentiments! Including the various consoles, or giving them their own PTB, ain't likely to happen. It's mainly due to the game files being changed for the Steam PTB version each run, and whenever you change game files Sony and Microsoft and Nintendo all individually have to certify them.

This can take 3-5 business days typically, but for instance Trickster came out a week late solely because one of those didn't certify it in time. Unlike Steam which takes like hours or even minutes.

I have hicups on PS5... The game is a moldy spaghetti monster.

What matters is you suffer so the entity gets its kicks and how you suffer doesn't matter.

I know that but I'm stating that down the line in like 6 years the PS5 is going to start having similar issues you would see now on PS4 due to hardware limitations and not being able to upgrade components of the system itself , technology isn't going to stop advancing because the PS5 came out and the truth is that the games are created on PC and PC will always be a better option due to the upgradable option you have , sure they may cost a little more but it's more than worth it in the long run

Ahh... I always wondered what was in the way of getting PTB's for consoles.

    Thanks for the info. 👍

Since this new patch I have been having nothing but lag issues. It either lags me back steps into the killer or makes me run into a wall. This is beyond ridiculous.

See, this is the frustrating thing.

March 2019 before the new consoles etc were even a thing, they outlined a detailed plan to achieve 60fps on base consoles and low end PCs, so at that time they believed it achievable.

Since then there have been no improvements to optimisation, and instead the graphics got an overhaul; adding new lighting and effects that are obviously going to be more demanding on hardware.

This suggests they chose to change the game with newer hardware in mind, to the detriment of older hardware; in contrast to what we were told to expect from the game over the last couple of years.

Its just not good enough to string people along with 'we're working on it, thanks for your patience!' for years until hardware has advanced so much you no longer feel you need to placate players on older hardware, and hope enough upgrade to new systems that it offsets the losses from screwing over the people who have supported the game through some really rough times with seemingly infinite patience.

What exactly is the event? Cakes and crowns available for less time than it was for the 4th anniversary?

THIS is what we are getting after being told they are focusing on anniversary and Halloween events... I would dare to say you aren't missing that much

I think they really went all in on ps5/xb1 and covid bit them in the ass.

They scrapped any sort of performance improvement for 'last gen' because why bother? Ps5 is coming out.

Surely, anyone who wants to play on console will "just buy a new system". Present day, it's easier to find a hooker than a ps5, and the 'majority console playerbase' is once again underwhelmed for DBD's main event. Seems like deja vu.
