why do survivors need to escape for the crown
Title says it all, nothing is required for killers except finding the crown to unlock it, why do survivors need to escape? I mean seriously atm solo survivors probably escape 1 game out of 5 *if they're good*, there's 17 original survivors and the event lasts 15 days... unless you're playing a lot or playing sweaty with friends getting all the crowns honestly sounds very unlikely (and that's not to mention killers who tunnel and camp survivors with crowns to stop them from unlocking it bc they enjoy being assh*les)
I play both roles but I'm much better as a survivor and it kinda feels silly how i can suck at killer but get all the crowns for free while the only way i'll get the survivor crowns is probably by playing sweaty stealthy key games, which isn't going to be enjoyable for anyone involved.

It's because survivors would probably throw game after game just to get their crowns.

I'm not asking a change for the killer side, I'm asking for survivors to unlock the crown upon finding it, like killers. Making killers 4k could be viable ig but it would also make them play more sweaty

Killers are allowed to do nothing but search for the crown and not even play if they choose, but that's not throwing?
I don't think killers need to be punished with a requirement, why not just let anyone interact and get it? Or everyone has to interact a certain amount of times? It's much harder to find it and win than it is to find it.

I mean it's the same thing for killers, there's definitely some killers i'll probably just go around the map with just to find the crown before considering playing the game properly lol

Good for you ^^ if it was a challenge on both sides i wouldn't complain but it's basically free for killers so there's no reason for it not to be for survivors

I think if they adjust it like complete a generator - just something so survivor can't just find it and get killed right away but also not punished if they don't make it to end.

I'm making a point of not killing anyone just because the whole escape requirement is so annoying. It's not fair that killers just have to find the crown, but survivors need to find it and then make it out alive. Turns it from a one-game thing to a five or ten game thing in solo queue.

I'll be doing same. Noticed already there are killers leaving licensed characters or original wearing crown alone while tunneling out original characters without crown just to prevent players from getting crowns. 😔

But yeah, that requirement is lame. I do not really need to go out of my way to not kill them, though, because, you know... They will just escape regardless of what I have to say about it. Lol.

You wanna know why? Because if they made it that it was unlocked upon getting it, survivor would simply dc and have the crown without having to do anything and would just ruin countless games

Killers could theoretically do the same thing. They don't, not in any noticeable quantities.

Nope DC cancels everything you gain, including crowns (like it does for killers)

While it is nice, it should not be the case that people with a Crown get away for free. Like, I totally appreciate it, but I am not a big fan of "Get away"-Cards.
However, I also think that it is silly that Survivors have to stay alive. I dont know how many games got ruined during the Halloween-Event, but back then I did not have many Survivors suicide on hook after filling up their vials. And I doubt that the majority would suicide on Hook to go into the next game once they found a Crown.
The requirement to escape just makes it more annoying to get Crowns as Survivor and it takes longer. It really should be removed.

That's really nice of you, I'm probably going to do the same tbh i ususally always let the last survivor live anyway, but also killers shouldn't have to go out of their way to throw a game bc the devs decided survivors needed to try-hard for an anniversary cosmetic

I think it is fair. Killers have a harder time with getting adept achievements, so I don't mind having to work a little hard to get an event item with survivor. Most people play both sides so they experience both the hard and the easy.

I’ve escaped with it twice with Meg, and once with King. Neither of them even have it unlocked. I guess they aren’t going to let survivors have them at all.

Sure it is, but a lot more survivors than killers (yes, over the 4:1 ratio) did that during events where that was a thing, so it's not any more.

I took a break. I lost a ton of blood points from the save fail thing as well, so I figured I should just stop messing with the game for a bit. I’ll try again here shortly. Thanks for the heads up!

If they do that, it makes it even harder for survivors. As a Killer main, during these types of events, i usually let one or 2 survivors go at the end if they are close to finishing the game. And i always let the last one go through the hatch/gates.

Technically, you have to escape as killer but seeing how no one is after you, that's why you only have to find it. At least, that's how I see the reasoning behind why survivors have to escape and killers don't have to do anything but finish the trial.

Yeah, I find the escape requirement kind of intense, but I also don't run the default heads on most of my characters, and it looks like, if you want to wear the crown, you have to have the default head as well, so.
FWIW, I played four or five solo survivor matches and in every single one, I either found a crown and got killed, or didn't find one and escaped. I think maybe the crowns are cursed.

Same, i wish the crown would just be stackable with whatever cosmetic you have on, and i also had games where i was the only survivor who hadn't found a crown and the killer ignored me entirely and didn't try to hook me until everyone else was dead, some of them just don't want survivors to get crowns apparently

Just make it so that if you get 2 or more iridescent emblems for the match as killer or survivor you keep it.

It's because during the 2018 Hallowed Blight event some survivors would give themselves up to the killer and suicide immediately upon collecting serum. They screwed things up for the rest of us, because every event since then has required the survivors to escape to keep whatever event thing they collected.

4 killers told me in chat yesterday they specifically tunneled the shiny people. All but 1 were rank 1, the last guy rank 6. So far I have 1 crown but I had to ask for help from two friends who legit played bodyguard for me in two matches.
So I guess killers want more swf to go against?
Getting crowns as killer was fun though, I even helped the survivors get theirs once I had mine.

Spent the morning playing as survivor, didn't get a single crown but i was tunnelled, facecamped and moried once i found the crown tho :D played two games as killers, got two crowns. This is bullsh*t i shouldn't have to hope for an afk or farming killer to get an event cosmetic.

I'd prefer that I didn't need to escape alive to get the crown, as long as I didn't disconnect from the match, the way it is can even generate enmity between Survs and Killers, and it's not cool to happen

Adepts should be changed as well (either make it harder for survivor or easier for killers) so the challenge to obtain it is equal.
That's the same thing here, idc about having to escape, i wouldn't care if i had to get 4 iri emblems as both roles to get the crown, i care that atm survivors need to earn an event cosmetic while killers don't
